Alpha Series: Alpha Landon by Midika Crane (14)

I was back here again, my mate lounging beside me. It was the same field we usually met in most mornings, back when we were only friends.

It was early morning, and we had decided to meet up to discuss what had happened at that dinner not less than a day ago. My hair blew softly behind me in the gentle breeze, the grass touching my legs lightly. Everything was so calm, on comparison to what was going on in my mind.

"So, when are you moving your belongings to my place?" Landon suddenly asked, his voice intruding the warm place in my mind where I was thinking. I flinched, turning to look him in the eye.

He looked beyond handsome, with his soft skin glowing in the morning sun, his green eyes illuminating his feelings, and his slightly too long hair was pushed back by the breeze. He was mine now...

"You realise that I have to tell Cyrus before anything can happen," I proclaim, my finger twirling around a stem of grass, only to yank it from the ground. Landon made a rather disgusted face as I uttered Cyrus's name. He still hated that guy, and I knew if I told him about the perfume, he might kill him or something.

"When will you do that?" He questions bluntly. I shrug, looking off into the distance, trying to sort my thoughts out.

"Today, I promise," I say, coming to a final decision. I didn't want to keep this going any longer. Having to lie to him only makes the situation first. My plan was to show him the mark upon my neck, and be done with it.

Landon nodded.

"And your parents?" He adds. I had thought about telling numerous times, but I know my father is going to be less than approving. I have resisted telling them by covering the mark as best as my abilities allow. That basically included always wearing my hair down, wearing a high neck line, and I even tried wearing some of my mother’s make-up.

"Soon enough, although I'm not looking forward to telling them," I admit, running a piece of grass up and down the side of my leg in disinterest. Landon chuckles, knowing my pain.

"You could just move in with me," Landon suggest casually. I blink. Move in with him? It had crossed my mind before, but hearing it come from his mouth made it so much more real. The fact that the man I had crushed on for a major portion of my life was now my mate, and wanted to live with me seemed unreal.

"And your father?"

"He will come around eventually," he excuses. We both sit in silence, thinking about things for a moment. Suddenly, Landon glanced at his watch, checking the time.

"I better go, I have a meeting with the Alpha's this afternoon. Will you be okay with Cyrus?" He asks. I nod, giving him a weak smile.

The worst that could happen was Cyrus lashes out at me in anger, which I highly doubt would happen, considering Cyrus had pretty mellow personality. In saying that, he had seemed to be a little overbearing when it came to Landon.

"I'll be fine, call me as often as you can," I say firmly. Don't blame me, I was just making sure my mate wasn't going to get into any trouble while I was gone. For all I know, most of the Alpha's are unmated, so I would hate to know how many unmated females hanging around.

Landon smiled softly, leaning closer to brush a piece of stray hair from my face. I gazed at him, wondering how someone so attractive could be into me.

"Someone jealous?" He questioned, smirking. I gently pushed on his chest, rolling my eyes. He wishes...Although he is right. I didn't think I was the kind of person to be territorial over something like a man.

"Hardly. What could I possibly be jealous of?" I inquired. Landon seemed to think for a moment, before rolling over, pinning my body against the soft down like grass. I stare up at him curiously, as he lifts my left leg up, so it rests near his hip.

"So you wouldn't mind if I talked to other girls then?" He chuckled at me, his breathing brushing against my lips. I narrowed my eyes at him, as if to warn him.

"I never said you couldn't talk to girls, just don't touch them, that's all," I clarify knowingly. Landon nodded, still lightly laughing at what I had to say. I was being serious too, so he better take that into consideration...

"Don't worry Al, you're the only one for me," he stated firmly. I smiled, as he finally leaned in, pressing his soft lips against mine. There was no place I would rather be, than with my mate.

Slowly, I ran the tips of my fingers down Landon back, feeling every muscle pulse and move. I cupped his face gently, his tender skin feeling amazing against my hands, as he moved his lips against mine.

All too soon, he pulled away.

"I should go huh?" He muttered, pulling away from me, so he could stand up. I just lay in the long grass, watching him. Wordlessly, he pulled his shirt off like it was the natural thing to do. I frowned at him, but secretly I was enjoying the view.

"I need to shift, and I'm not so keen about destroying my clothes," he explained with a chuckle, noticing the strange look I was giving him. He dumped his dark blue shirt onto the ground beside me.

He looked so beautiful, standing above me. The awakening sun illuminated his skin, detailing his chiselled torso, while making his skin look golden and soft. I was then taken by surprise, as he casually dropped his slacks.

"Landon, what the hell?" I shrieked, covering my eyes from the sight that nearly stole my innocent. I heard him laughing animatedly, as I shielded myself in darkness. I was not going to deal with this right now.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" He asked coyly. Internally I rolled my eyes.

"What if someone sees you here...Naked?" I question. It was as though Landon didn't care about his reputation as an Alpha at all. It was especially important that he watches himself now that we are mated.

"Don't act like it's not natural to shift," he exclaimed cynically. Maybe a good ten years ago, when Wolves shifted literally every moment of their lives. These days, it's slightly less socially acceptable to waltz around naked. Maybe Landon didn't know because he hadn't been exposed to the realities of life.

"You're going to see me naked eventually Althea," he added cheekily.

"It was nice seeing you Landon. You better go before you're late," I farewell, waving my free hand blindly in the air. I felt him lay a gentle kiss on my forehead, before I rush of air hit me. I nervously uncover my hand, to see his running across the field at a remarkable pace, the hair if his dark Wolf glinting in the sunlight.

I sigh and stand up. Time to confront Cyrus

***

"You want to tell me what's wrong?" Cyrus asks. Looking at his face right now; so concerned, broke my heart. I didn't want to let him down like this, but I couldn't keep this from him.

We sat on my couch at home. I had told Cyrus that what I needed to say was urgent. It was really. I just hoped that he took the news well, rather than her mad at me for something could hardly control.

"Please don't be mad," I say softly. Cyrus nods, then something in his deep blue eyes click, like he's remembered something amazing.

"Wait first! I have something amazing to tell you," he rushed. It was as though his whole being seemed to lit up. I motioned for him to continue. I didn't want to kill his mood just yet. He paused briefly, like he was creating an effect between us.

"Alden called, saying he would love to have us in his Pack!"

I blinked.

Alden, the little-

"So that means we will be able to move there, as soon as possible," he proclaimed in utter excitement. In my whole time of knowing him, I had never seen him look so genuinely excited about something.

"Together?" I squeaked. He didn't realise what impeccable timing he had. He nodded eagerly.

"Isn't it great?"

I sighed, and grabbed his hand. I could tell he was slightly confused about my grim expression.

"I need to tell you something," I say softly. He sits up a little, fully interested in what I had to say. His fingers played with my own gently.

"I'm now mate-"

A brisk knock on the door cut me off, as well as giving me a massive fright. Cyrus looked at me, his eyebrows creased in wonder. Who could that be, at this time? Not my parents, that's for sure.

I stood up, and wandered over to the door. I took another glance at Cyrus before swinging the door open. And there stood two uniformed guards, handcuffs dangling from their fingers.

"We are here to arrest you on suspicion of the disappearance of Natasha Javilor," the man states bluntly. My eyes widen.
