Delilah Armstrong

Levidia!” I scream in horror. A few seconds later my assistant comes running into my office.

“What? What happened?” she says looking around frantically.

Just then another fake moan comes through the computer. I can feel my face turn bright red.

“Oh my God. I don't know what happened. I opened an email, then all of a sudden this popped up and it won't go away.”

I stare in horror at my computer screen as a woman is getting fucked into oblivion by a man with a cock that is in no way real. It can’t be. Although I really wouldn’t know, seeing as I have never seen a cock in real life. Levidia walks around my desk and I move out of her way. She clicks a few buttons and looks proud of herself until three more windows pop open. It sounds like I am having an orgy in my Goddamn office.

“What the fuck? Try turning it off,” I say frantically.  I try to turn it off by pushing the power button, but it doesn't work. Levidia quickly unplugs it and the computer goes dark. I sigh in relief. I may own a matchmaking service, but I do not want someone coming in here, hearing that noise and be thinking that is what I am all about.

I built Elite Matchmaking Services from the ground up and have been working my ass off for the past three years to get it up and running. I can't very well do my job if I can’t use my fucking computer.

“Okay plug it back in. Let’s see if it worked,” I say holding my breath as she does what I ask.

“Okay, here goes nothing.” She plugs it in and nothing happens, the screen is black as fuck. “Uh, boss I think we are going to need to get an IT guy in here to fix it. This is the fourth one this month that’s broken,” Levidia says looking from me to the computer. Shit, she is right, technology hates me big time. I rub my temples.

“I know you’re right, Levi. I just don't know who I can trust with all of my client's information. There is a lot of personal shit in the files that I have for them and I would hate for someone to steal it.”

Not to mention that it is expensive as fuck and I can't be shitting out money that I don't have. That’s why I have been looking for someone that can help with background checks and all the other IT stuff. It would be so much easier if I didn't have to worry about that stuff. Not only would it take a huge load off my shoulders, but I would be able to meet more clients, all the while not having to worry about anything else. I will be able to focus on what I love the most about my job. Helping people find their one and only. I run my fingers through my hair, tugging on it a little. Fuck, I am doomed. I give myself a two-second pity party before shaking myself out of it. I didn't get as far as I am today by giving up when times get hard.

“I think everything will be okay. Stop worrying so much. You will figure this out you always do.” Levi says giving me a knowing look.

“Okay, you’re right, we can do this. I am going to need to reschedule my eleven-thirty because I need my computer and there is no way I am going to get it up and running by then,” I say staring daggers at the stupid computer. She smirks at me, “well I kind of thought this might happen so…” she grabs a piece of paper from her back pocket.

“I think I found the perfect company to help you out. It says on the website that they do free consultations. It’s run by a guy named Kyle Rothschild. He is supposed to be amazing. He’s very fair with his prices. He even has a five-star rating on Google, so I scheduled you a lunch meeting so you can meet with him at the Noodle Cafe in an hour.”

This is why I fucking love her. Everyone thought I was crazy for hiring her right out of high school, but I have always been a good judge of character. I knew the moment I met her she had a great head on her shoulders. I stand from my chair and hug her.

“Thank you so much. You are a lifesaver.” She laughs and hugs me back.

“That’s why you pay me the big bucks.” We pull away from each other laughing. Once we have settled down, she starts making her way out of my office. “I will call Mr. Nelson and let him know that something came up and ask when he would like to reschedule his appointment.”

“Thanks.” She nods her head and closes the door on her way out. The next hour is spent doing as much work as I can without my computer. When it’s time to leave I grab my coat and purse and head out of my office.

“Hey, boss. I got you an Uber. They are waiting outside for you,” Levidia says without looking up from her computer screen.

“Thanks, what did Mr. Nelson say about me needing to cancel today's appointment?”

“He said that he completely understood and not to worry about it. I rescheduled him for Monday at one. Now go to lunch, you don't want to be late.”  I bite my lip, still concerned that this is the first time I have had to cancel an appointment and I hate doing it.

“Okay, thank you,” I say.

My business thrives on word of mouth and if a have someone saying that I am a flake, it is going to be horrible for my reputation, not to mention that my business could go down the shitter. She looks up and gives me her knowing smile the one where she knows I am freaking out on the inside.

“I have it all handled, promise. Your next appointment isn't until four, so take your time.”

I feel my shoulders relax a little. “Okay, I have my phone if you need anything. Just call me I will be back soon.”

I walk out the door to the Uber and get in.

I really hope this Kyle guy will be able to help me.
