A Very Blackwell Christmas (Shattered Souls Book 0) by C.L. Matthews (2)

Chapter Two: Winter Kisses

Love was an interesting feeling. It built up in your gut, fuzzy and warm-like in sensation. Buzzing, soaring, and overwhelming your entire body, while making you feel at ease with everything else in the world. The way it ate you up, devouring your soul wholly, and you’d let it. Not realizing it would be the best thing you would ever experience in your lifetime.

The way you felt whole, fully aware you attained it, carrying it everywhere, spreading an endless stream of happiness to everyone around you. Knowing full well that you’d never want that feeling to end, and were willing to fight heaven and hell to keep it safe forever. That was their love—and holy shit, it was beautiful.

Earlier Thanksgiving week, Evangeline went to their local Walmart and purchased a ton of bulbs. She was particular about colors, the tree would have white lights, and the bulbs would color coordinate.

She bought beautiful silver, baby blue, cerulean, cobalt, and white colored bulbs. There were snowflake and icicle shaped ones that she had to have as well. The store had garlands, wreaths, lights, blow-up Christmas decorations, and even some fake snow.

By the end of her trip the basket was overflowing and merry. As she left, there was a vibrant grin on her face. The holidays would be superb with all the holly decorations she planned on setting up.

Thanksgiving arrived, and they spent it with their friends. Everyone but Eve drinking away the night, together they decided to set up the tree. While the ladies cooked, Riley and Gideon bought a x-mas tree. It was ginormous, but smelt heavenly, it was perfect. Thanksgiving night they decorated the house and the tree, taking turns putting ornaments around the tree, setting up lights, and listening to Christmas music as they went.

The house was starting to feel festive and fun. The closer their wedding and Christmas got, the happier she felt. Her belly grew but not super noticeably. Since their sex life had been on a halt, it was easy to hide it or blame it on bloating. His mind seemed elsewhere as time went on, and though she wanted to be bugged about it, she couldn’t be.

Gideon proposed to Eve not too long ago, they solved the Mitch Cates case, and CK-21 was dismantled. They decided on a small and intimate winter wedding. What better day, than the one after Christmas? She had the venue paid for, acquired the perfect dress, the most brilliant and luminous ring in the world, and the man that would make her life worthwhile. She was set for life, and there was nothing in this world more precious than that. Except that little bun.

It was the night before Christmas, and all through the Blackwell house, not a creature stirred, not even a mouse. Or however that shit went, pregnancy brain and all. Throughout the season they lived with utter joy, time flew by when you had the time of your life. They created new traditions together, ornament hanging, light gazing, cookie eating, and x-mas movie watching together next to the fire.

Eve made him watch a Christmas movie every day in December, starting with How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Her all-time favorite film, who didn’t love Jim Carey? Once upon a time she would have claimed she was the Grinch, but as time went by her heart softened and she became Cindy Lou Who, who knew the real meaning of Christmas. One day she’d be able to tell her kids and grandkids of her secret FBI life and how dangerous and seductive it could be.

Holidays were now her favorite, time off the job—or that was the hope. Her joy came from spending every waking moment with her love, making memories that she’d cherish forever, and eating like she was feeding two. She was technically feeding for two. This is the life.

Snow fell in the valley, and unlike their normal desert-like winter weather there were snowflakes cascading down from the clouds above. Crystalizing the house, and frosting the windows with winter’s kiss. Luckily for her, she hadn’t yet fallen on ice. She usually made an ass of herself, but not this year. Christmas Eve never held such beauty before this particular one. It was special since Eve spent it with her future husband, and they were expecting their first baby; even though he was none the wiser.

The sky was dark, blackened, but iridescent with the lights of the city glowing around the shadowing hills. Their house was lit up with stick trees, icicles, candy canes, and standing snowflakes. It was as if they were on the north pole, attempting to win the decoration contest. We’d win too.

They were nestled inside, Gideon held Eve, as if she were his Christmas present waiting to be opened. Their bodies wrapped around one another in a comfortable embrace; keeping each other warm and cozy while enjoying their night. They put in their second to last movie of the season, A Year without Santa Claus, another favorite from her childhood. Her dad would watch it with her every year. That Elvis Presley song and the entire meaning of the movie always took her to another time of greed and selfishness. It reminded her of before Gideon came back, she was a horrible person.

Their cheeks were still rosy from the cold outdoors that they just came from. Her belly still warm from the hot chocolate she just enjoyed. Gideon was a nog guy, the kind with the extra brandy and whiskey—the one that would fill you with warm and fuzzies from just smelling it.

They spent the evening gazing at the holiday lights and decorations at the Vegas strip, sipping hot cocoa and nog from endless mugs. There were so many illuminations on each skyscraper and hotel, stunning her speechless. Santa Claus’ were scattered everywhere, selling drugs, taking charity donations, and offering photo ops. They were tempted to bust the creepy ones for their weirdness and illegal acts, but it was vacation, and it could wait.

Year after year, Nevada never was blessed with much snow. When it snowed, it was magical and memorable. On both her hands, she could count the little times it snowed in the valley. She’d dreamt of the snow every day, it was the one wish she had for Christmas and their wedding day. This moment would forever be etched in her heart. She had a special present for Gideon, and he’d love it. Hopefully he’d love her unconditionally and their little bun.

Pausing the movie, they walked over to their huge window openings, observing the remarkable view as the snow piled onto their driveway. Their house was gathering blankets of white fluffiness as the night passed them by. She was completely mesmerized with the sight, and just in time for their wedding. Gideon wrapped her in his arms tighter, squeezing her middle section, and soon he’d know how much that squeeze meant to her. I’ll forever love this man.

“Babe, do you know that you are the best part of every holiday? I want to spend every moment with you, loving you, and cherishing you. You are my everything, and life wouldn’t be the same without you.” He confessed his smile bigger than the sun. He stared at her as if she were the aurora borealis shining in the sky above, colors exploding into a perfect ray of light; bringing bliss to anyone who’d only laid eyes upon it. He brought a crimson color to her already rosy cheeks. She giggled, knowing his heart belonged to her forever.

The fireplace carried a blaze, burning along with the love that kindled in their hearts the more time they spent reacquainting with each other. She could smell wood wafting in the air from their chimney that burned, and she couldn’t think of a better way to spend their holiday. The man of her dreams holding her, the gift she’d give him in the morning, and knowing this short vacation was spent with only him and there would be no interruptions, and that alone was a godsend.

“I never enjoyed holidays until you came,” she admitted, taking longer than a moments reply, she moved her head upward, nearly hitting his chin. Laughing, he tapped her on the nose, receiving a small smirk in return. Her eyes peered into his, hoping he’d see the truth in her words. Their trust grew as their relationship did, but she knew he doubted her love. The love she had for people was unusual and different, but her love for him was endless.

“I didn’t like anything until you agreed to give me a second chance. You are my fucking world, kitten,” he stated, no room for questioning. “At that moment when you gave in to me, everything in the world made sense—no longer was a confused man, but one that knew exactly where his life was leading. When you said yes to marrying me, I became the luckiest man alive.” She tipped her head back further than before, giving his lips full access to hers. He placed them on her, and she relished the moment as they moved together. Their movie would have to continue to wait.

Their lips meshed together, as his hand cupped her cheek. Moving her body until she had full access to his, she straddled him. Warmth built in her chest, the best description would be love—she sensed it consuming her and that was all she craved.

She let herself fall further into Gideon’s thrall. Dragging her into his dark and rapturous chasm to keep her there for as long as she lived, and she welcomed it.

“I love you, Gideon Blackwell.”

“I love you too, Evangeline Blackwell.”

The name sounded so perfect coming from his lips, in only two days he’d call her that officially. The knowledge alone made her heart race in excitement. Her lips found his again, licking the seam of his. He gave her full access, twining his tongue with hers in an erotic motion. Desire was dangerous. It pleaded with you to relinquish your control, enticing you, and licking you with its titillating tendrils just begging you to submit. Desire was absolutely spellbinding.

Her body caved into its trance, unable to deny it further. Gideon’s hand cupped her neck tenderly, holding her in place while his lips teased her throat. She grinded into him, provoking a growl and a smack on the ass, thwack! “You are tempting my control, kitten.” Olive green eyes bored into her chestnut ones with an intensity that would make any person squirm. Unlike most people, she knew she could handle his beast just as he tamed hers. Not allowing his growling to stop her, she kissed his neck, nipping in her favorite areas.

“Evangeline—dammit!” He rolled her over, covering her body with his.

His hands trailed up her body fiercely, he was losing his mind over her teasing. She could tell with his wild fumbling of her clothes. Biting down on her hip, she squealed in utter delight. Their bodies no longer had space between them. He held her down, ready to strike. With a wink, he sprang off her.

“I’ll be back.” He said, leaving the living room. Leaving her turned on beyond comprehension to sulk in waiting. Moments later he came in with black silk ties. These are new. She was aroused as he took the ties, placing them around her wrists and tying them together gently. The feeling of the silk rubbing her wrists in the softest but most sensual way had her wet with need. Gideon didn’t do much with toys, he was more of a ‘fuck really hard in the moment’ type guy, and this was an interesting change of character.

“Stay still, I want to try something.” She nodded, excited for what he could have possibly planned. “I’ve never done this before, kitten. I’m kind of turned on thinking about you tied up.”

“You can’t hold me down forever, I’m feisty.” Never before did Eve do kinky, but with him, she was willing to give it a try.

He pulled off her pants, spreading her legs wide. Next to go were her lacy thong, Gideon had a reputation for ruining the cute ones. A loud rip echoed. There went her pretty undies in scraps once again. She learned to avoid attachment to any of them. She let out a dumbfounded laugh, fully understanding his need for speed, but sad to lose yet another pair.

Her pussy lay bare, freshly shaven. It was wet; she could feel the cool air breeze past it, as it hardened her nipples. After she got used to the chilly air, she felt something cold and saturated touching her entrance.

It pushed in her, vibrating and causing tremors to wrack her frame. “Oh my god, what is that?” Her moans drowned out his response, her g-spot being tantalized in a torturous game. An orgasm was rising in her belly, she could feel the intensity, and she wanted it—craved it. He moved the object inside of her, eliciting groans of pure bliss. Rubbing her clit, pinching, and then sucking on it while moving the vibrator inside of her, she screamed out in pleasure. “Holy fucking Jesus!”

His face found her pussy. Biting her clit, and then licking it while her hands were tied. She was incapable of reaching out to run her hands through his hair like she enjoyed. This was her new favorite thing, torturous pleasure. Adding that vibrator to her already tormented clit put her over the edge, her orgasm hit, erupting through her body like an earthquake. Shaking and rumbling throughout her taut body, her hands still tied and the restraint only making her more animated. She loved it, every rocking tremble her body received.

This was exactly what happiness looked like, and she never wanted it to end.

Chapter Three: A Very Blackwell Christmas

A kiss below her earlobe woke her from her mischievous wet dream that starred her future husband. “Mmhmm. You woke me up from the best and sexiest dream of my life. You were between my legs with that new toy you tried on me yesterday.” She batted her eyelashes, tempting the man with lustful eyes.

“I bet I can be better than your dreams, kitten. Strawberry included.” Her eyes lit up in approval, strawberry was her new g-spot vibrator. He moved it inside of her while eating her pussy, and sometimes that was all she craved.

“Prove it,” she tested him, winking in his direction. A silent challenge to make sure he’d prove her right. Poking the beast, and begging for him to come out to play.

His body quickly straddled hers, blankets wrapped around them both, protecting them from the cool winter morning. They both were still naked from the previous night’s escapade. After last night she was pleased with him, they hadn’t had sex in a while, and just about everything set her ablaze. She couldn’t help but gape at him in awe, he kissed her forehead, her chin, her nose, and then finally her lips. Whenever he was thinking deeply, he’d kiss her everywhere, like he was sealing promises to her body. Promises he usually kept to himself.

“What is it?”

“Just admiring my wife-to-be, she’s glowing.” Her grin grew, he was going to be so excited to hear her news, but she had to wait.

His lips trailed down her neck, kissing her tenderly on her sensitive skin, nipping her collar bone, and going further and further down. Lifting the blanket off of them, he grazed her hips with his teeth, nibbling on them and eliciting a giggle.

“Behave, caveman!” She let out in a shrill voice, not completely meaning it.

“Is that a challenge?” He taunted.

“Only if it means you’ll give me more.” She nearly pouted, not wanting to show him how much she needed him to make love to her again. Desperation was ugly, but she owned it like it was her bitch.

“Anything for you, kitten.”

His lips found her navel, licking around her belly button. His tongue made his way up her stomach. Swirling and pecking until he captured her breasts, his lips marked every inch. He drew her nipple into his mouth, suckling and licking erotically, only retracting to watch it pebble in front of him.

“So fucking sexy,” he rasped. The grittiness to his voice arousing her more.

Her stomach flip-flopped, loathing the torment he provided her, but loving the build up all the more. If he held back from touching her it was fulfilling in a wicked way, it gave a euphoric initial touch.

When he finally reached her heat; her breathing hitched in anticipation. Adrenalin rushed through her, sex was one thing she conquered, and with him, it was otherworldly. The thought of having his cock inside of her was too exhilarating to ignore, she desired all of him, right now. The way he brushed his body against hers revealed that he craved her too.

“I need you, Gideon.” It was something Eve’d say when she was ready for him to take her. His eyes glossed over in delight, he kissed her fervently. Their lips exploded in rays of light and fizzled into a haze, the jubilation she felt from their every kiss gave a sense of bliss and love to swell inside of her. This man made her feel emotions she thought died long ago, reminding her every day that their love was worth all of their sacrifices.

He tamed her beast, the only man to do so and continue to love her too. Their sex life was fanfuckingtastic, she loved every kiss, touch, and orgasm he brought her. Her black book was no longer needed, she only desired Gideon.

His biting on her clit brought her back to the moment, “Fuck! Gideon!” He watched her every move, eyes like a hawk, begging her to watch him while he ate her like a starved man. “Watch me, baby. I want to see you come.” Her climax torturously approached, warming her and causing the best pain in the world, “Fuck!” she screamed out as her orgasm hit.

“Fuck, baby! You cummed all over. That’s so fucking sexy.” His voice grated out. Something about that g-spot vibrator caused her juices to flow freely, more than ever before. He lapped up everything she gave, and then brought his body flush with hers. Their tongues twirled, finally getting used to the taste of herself on him. She kissed with as much ardor as he offered.

His tip teased her swollen core, rubbing the sensitive nub until she bit his muscular neck in wanton yearning. Without warning, his dick entered her in one quick thrust.

“Jesus!” she let out in a shrill.

“I fucking love you, kitten.” His eyes met hers, challenging her to watch him.

“I love you too, baby.”

His dick continued its magic, thrusting, rubbing, and messaging her. Sweat covered their bodies, as moisture built inside of her. Their groans of pleasure filled the room, and another orgasm hit her system. There were stars, explosions, and pure ecstasy. Stuck in a stupor, she had to shake the enticing nothingness that threatened to take her consciousness. His cock hardened with his build up, bringing her back to reality and pushing her over the edge again; the way he gyrated into her stimulating her g-spot, bringing the high of her fucking life. The room felt hot as hell, the exhaustion of their lovemaking and heat from their bodies created a sauna feeling to arise.

Gideon growled with his release, groaning as he emptied himself inside of her, the warmth filling her up fully—there was nothing better than that sensation. The seed that created the baby she now carried filled her once again. There was nothing like coming with the person you loved, both orgasms teetering over the edge together, screaming out in pleasure as sweat covered their bodies in a shared passionate encounter. Fanfuckingtastic. Their love life would never dull.

******

There was a scene on Elf showing, their very last movie of the season. The scene where baby Buddy snuck into Santa’s bag, not knowing it would change his life forever.

“God, we’d have the cutest fucking babies. Just imagine your belly swollen from making endless passionate love. A little babe growing inside of you of that love we shared. Can you imagine it, kitten?”

She thought quickly, jumping up and collecting the present she wrapped weeks ago. Inside was the three pregnancy tests she took, an ultrasound of their baby, and a blue ribbon to show the gender of their baby. Handing it to him, he slowly opened it. His eyes bulged, and before he could ask, she spoke.

“We don’t have to imagine. I’m pregnant, Gideon.”

If his eyes could open further, they did, she couldn’t tell if he was stunned, scared, or excited, but she wanted some reassurance. She’d waited far too long for this moment to be spoiled.

“Are you okay?”

“Uh—yeah. Of course I’m okay.” He shook his head, “I cannot believe we are having a kid! Kitten! That’s fantastic news! That’s all I ever wanted!” His placed a hand over his mouth, a single tear leaving his beautiful green eyes.

“Merry Christmas, Gideon. It was a gift I wanted to give you on this day. I cannot tell you how scared I was to even tell you about this.”

“Why would you be scared? There is nothing in the world you could do that would ever push me away. I fucking love you, and our little growing family. This couldn’t be a better present.”

He grabbed her by the cheeks, squeezing and bringing their lips together. Gideon’s hand trailed down her body stopping at her belly, patting it gently, “There’s really a baby in there?” His eyebrows shot up in amazement. They created life together, and there was nothing more precious than that.

“Yes, baby. A little boy.”

“You already know the gender?! Where the fuck have I been?!”

“Don’t freak out, you were shot and recovering. I didn’t want to stress you out.”

“Holy shit, we are going to be parents! Kitten! Holy shit!”

“You better watch that mouth of yours when the baby arrives,” she smacked him lightly on the back of the head.

“I’m just so damn excited! I thought your belly had gotten bigger, but I didn’t want to be an ass and ask about it.” He chuckled, rubbing her belly in adoration.

“I’m glad you didn’t, I’ve been hiding it for so long, I may have slapped you to play the part.” She smiled, then laughed uncontrollably when he glared at her.

“What are we going to name him?”

“I was thinking Declan Daxby, for your father and mine. It’s perfect for the best gift you could ever give me. I wish they were here to witness this moment.”

“They’d be honored if either were still here.”

Eve choked up, she’d waited so long to announce it, but she had so much time to get used to it—he hadn’t. Until hearing how happy he was, she felt pessimistic and broken up about the whole thing. Gideon was happy, so now all they had to do was give birth to their perfect baby.

******

Dinner had been cooked all day. Ronnie, Riley, and Ness cooked from five in the morning until after three in the afternoon. The guys hung out while the girls chatted about the baby. “Did you decide on a name?”

“Declan Daxby, in honor of our fathers.”

“That’s fucking cute!” Ronnie shouted.

“Oh my god. Eve, that is so freaking adorable.” Vanessa piped in, smiling enormously. She was so good with children. Eve remembered her always talking about little ones and that she would have at least five of her own. She put her little hand on Eve’s belly, her eyes glowing in amazement. The moment would never leave Eve. Ness meant the world to her.

“We are going to be the coolest aunties. Spoil the shit out of that little man.” Ronnie said, giggling and hugging Eve. She had no doubt that the girls would spoil the little man. They already spoiled her with their love. Declan would be one lucky man to have those two watching over him.

“Wait, did I hear you are pregnant, Evangeline?” Riley asked, popping his head around the wall, a smile lit up his face. Apparently Gideon hadn’t spilled the beans. It was sweet that he wanted to keep it between close family and friends, she appreciated the gesture.

“Yeah, he’s going to be a badass like his uncle, Riley.” Gideon answered before giving Eve the chance. He bent down kissing her stomach, bringing a blush to Eve’s cheeks. She loved when he showed affection and her hormones were off the chart as of late so she was extra swooning.

Chuckles surrounded the group, they all were in a fit of chortles from Gideon’s comment. They all knew they were both badasses and spent their entire careers at the same jobs.

“Now I understand that term, fast, deep, and often! Obviously I need tips from Gideon! He’s already got a bun in the oven.” Ronnie belted out. The tears of laughter left their eyes. Ronnie always knew how to make a moment hilarious.

“Fucking, Ronnie, ladies and gents! She’s here all night!” Eve barely uttered while laughing.

“Oh no! We have to check the oven!” Ness quickly ran toward the oven with her hands raised. Everyone followed suit, hoping they didn’t burn anything too important.

“It should be fine, I checked on it fairly often,” Riley reassured, cupping Ness’ shoulder. Ness opened the oven, the humongous turkey tin foiled inside.

“That smells damn-near delectable,” Evangeline drooled, licking her lips. She craved just about everything, especially greasy foods.

Lifting the foil, they seen the red thermometer popped upward, indicating it was finished. Ness attempted to lift it with her short arms, causing it to squirt scolding hot juices on her.

“Ouch! Damn! It’s done! The damn thing squirted all over the place when I tried lifting it!” They all burst into tears, laughing harder than before. After an onslaught of jokes, you have to be careful how you word certain things.

“Oh shut it!” She only set them off further, “So I’m guessing Ness is taking that fast, deep, and often tip. “Getting a head start on the squirting part?” Gideon joked. A red-faced Vanessa didn’t seem to appreciate the witticism.

“At least someone is squirting,” Riley finally returned, blushing while taking the spotlight off of Vanessa. His face a mask, he had the best poker face and no one could restrain themselves. Riley never cracked jokes.

Since they couldn’t contain their laughs, Eve and Ronnie fell on the floor, their laughs uncontrollable, instigating further chuckles from everyone else. The air was full of joy, stomachs rolling in pain from all the laughs. Cheeks pained from constant smiles.

“So, about that turkey,” Ness piped in.

*****

“Present time!” Ronnie squealed, hands waving in the air. She danced her way into the living room, heading straight for the tree. Music from Frank Sinatra played in the room, snow coated the roads, and windows. Hot cocoa was the next step. You couldn’t go wrong with chocolate.

The group gathered in the living room while Eve made hot cocoa, and nog for the guys. She could hear whispers of them speaking about her, but couldn’t place anything important.

“Can one of you help me bring these out?” She yelled, hoping they could hear her over the music. Gideon came barreling in, he had on a Santa hat, and he looked so damn adorable.

“You look so adorable, babe.”

“Well you look gorgeous, kitten. I could just eat you up.” He waggled his eyebrows in suggestion.

“Oh my god, gag. Guys leave the sexual stuff for when I don’t have to hear, okay?” Ronnie interrupted, play disgust written on her face.

Smacking her on the arm, Eve stuck out her tongue, and flipped her the one figure salute. “I love you, Ronnie. Don’t be jealous that I have more fun than you.”

“Asshole. I guess you won’t be needing that black book of yours anymore, eh?”

“What is a black book?” Gideon’s eyebrows raised in question.

“Oh, you know, her nice fuc—” Ness’ slapped her hand over Ronnie’s mouth before she could finish her betrayal.

“First rule about fight club, no one talks about fight club. Catch my drift, Ronnie?” Ness explained, nodding to Eve.

Eve’s face paled, saved by the less giving best friend. She mouthed, “Thank you,” to Ness before walking away. “Don’t think you are getting away that easily, kitten. We will discuss this book later.” Fuck, I’m screwed, and not in the good way.

They all plopped on the floor in front of the tree. Gideon holding Eve’s hand while smiling mischievously, with a wink and a kiss, he pulled out a tiny box. “Merry Christmas, kitten. I love you.” She opened the box, inside was the most beautiful white gold necklace. What made it special was the double infinity inside. There were two little stones, both hers and Gideon’s birth stones. The necklace couldn’t be any better.

“It’s so stunning.” She cried, tears leaving her face. It must be the damn hormones, Eve was never this sappy or teary eyed. The room was filled with the best of her friends—her little family. Another member grew inside of her, she glowed because of it. She never would have imagined herself this happy, let alone this perfect.

“My turn, bitches!” Ronnie jested. She jumped up, heading for the back of the tree where a fairly large box sat. “Babes, this is for you.” Handing it to Eve, she set her cocoa down, unwrapping the present, fold by fold, annoying everyone like usual.

“Hurry the hell up, old woman!” Ronnie yelled in exasperation.

“You need to calm your tits, Ron. You don’t want them sagging at this age!”

“Fuck you. These are precious.” She grabbed her boobs, squishing them.

“Okay, girls. Behave, we have guests,” Ness, the voice of reason spoke up. Eve continued her slow unwrapping of the package, saving as much paper as possible. An annoyed Gideon tore at it as if a person’s life would end if he didn’t unwrap it.

“Really, babe?” Eve wasn’t amused at his ravenous tactics. The sight of the gift gave Gideon a little leeway. She couldn’t believe her eyes, it was the cutest thing ever.

“Awh! Thanks, Ron! We knew we would need one of these!” Ronnie bought them a cute baby blue car seat with cute little monkeys all over. It was more than perfect for her little man, she loved it.

They drank their nog, hot chocolate, and wine. Enjoying the company, and loving the peace of mind that came with it. She only wished it would last, that was all she wanted.
