Alaska's Snowy Fate (Winter Rescue Bears Book 1) by April Zyon (7)

Chapter 10

Alaska couldn’t believe that sex could be so good. Nothing ever could have prepared her for just how damn good making love and bonding with someone could feel. That’s when she realized she could feel him, all of him.

“I hear you.” She whispered with a smile on her face. “I love you too.” She told him when he pulled her back against his body tightly.

“Good, it’s about time you said it.” He purred in her ear.

“Yes, how weird is that?” She had heard him whisper or so she thought, but now she realized it was his mind speaking to her mind. “I believe that there will be times I love and hate being able to read your thoughts and have you read mine.” She admitted to him. She felt his cock deflating and mourned the loss when he slid out of her body. “I liked having you inside of me.” She told him and then turned so she could face him now.

“I love being inside of you as well but I happen to want to face you the next time we make love.” His large hands moved up her hips and to her breasts. “We are fully mated now. You wear my marks at your hips and at the back of your neck. Your scent has been infused with my scent and any shifter will know you belong to me just like they will know I belong to you.” He promised her and leaned in to take her nipple into his mouth. He suckled her breast, and she couldn’t help but moan, especially when he used his teeth.

“Oh, I definitely want to face you when we make love next.” She said and moved so that they were closer, her leg going over his so that they could get closer. “That’s an excellent start.”

When the weekend was over it was very clear that Drake and Alaska had used every inch of the den for their mating. The only space off-limits were the other men’s private quarters. She knew because the first words out of Blaze’s mouth had been, “Holy shit, did you two fuck every minute we were gone and over every inch of the den?”

And she had noticed that every single man had lifted his head and sniffed the air. She flushed red with embarrassment, but Drake told her to ignore the children, so she tried to.

It wasn’t until dinner that Adam decided to be the bearer of bad news. “I hate to end the honeymoon, but we have news.”

“Okay.” Alaska reached out and placed her hand on top of Drake’s, she needed his touch and knew he needed hers too. “News about what?”

“Your car. Drake told you when we broke you out of the hospital that the accident was one that someone orchestrated, well, we went to the rental agency after you told us about the helpful desk clerk who put the chains on the tires and so on?” This was coming from Adam as he spoke in his calm, no-nonsense voice.

She nodded so he continued. “The day after you took your car there was a missing person’s report filed for the rental agent. A woman. The person who put the chains on your tires didn’t work for them. We thought something was hinky when we lowered down, but we were more involved with getting you out than worrying about the status of the vehicle.”

“Anyway.” Oliver broke in. “We used the weekend to track down the guy who helped you. He left a scent on your clothes, and we are damn good at tracking.” Blaze snorted, another of the men chuckled, and Drake squeezed her hand.

“Okay, please continue, I will praise you all later.” She felt ill right now and just wanted the story to be told.

“We found him. Only we found him with a couple of people.” It was Oliver who was speaking now, he leaned in, and he all but radiated calming tones. How weird that she could feel them from the man. It must be her connection to Drake. “Alaska we don’t want to hurt you but you will be when it all comes out anyway, and I’m so sorry. There was so much evidence there, however.”

Blaze leaned over and placed his hand on Alaska’s and gave it a small squeeze. “We are your family, never forget that. You have all of us now, okay? We are pains in the ass, but we love you like a sister.”

Drake looked around at his men and then she heard the whisper in his mind, Oh shit, fuck no. She knew then that whatever it was, it was bad. Whatever it was Drake had thought of it before. “Are you saying what I think you are?” Drake asked his men.

“Afraid so boss.” Blaze leaned back now and looked so sad that it actually hurt Alaska.

Again there were those soothing waves from Oliver, the clan’s medic. “What is that?” She asked.

“I’m the clan’s healer, emotional and physical and I’m afraid I’m about to hurt you, my Alpha’s Mate. I’m so sorry.”

Adam took over the story now. “Alaska, he was found with your ex-husband and your sister. From what the police have gotten out of them, your ex still has a huge life insurance policy out on you with him as the primary and your sister as the secondary. The two of them have been lovers for several years. Evidently, he’s had several of them. I’m so, so damn sorry.”

The pain hit her hard and fast, even with the waves of healing that Oliver was giving out it still hurt her heart and soul. “But she’s engaged.” She whispered.

“And he was married. It didn’t matter to them, all that mattered was the money. The policy was worth five million if you died in an accident.” Blaze muttered.

“Our parents?” She sobbed, Drake pulled her into his lap because she was absolutely devastated by the blows that she was being dealt.

“Hurt beyond belief just like you are. They are emotionally wrecked and can’t believe that one of their daughters would do this to another one. They don’t know what to do. Your sister wants them to hire an attorney for her because evidently, she’s completely broke. Her fiancé walked away from her as fast as his feet would carry him. Your ex is also broke and is being defended by a public defender, looks like your sister will be too.” Blaze shrugged and then added. “Personally I wanted to bail that fucker out of jail just so I could break every bone in his body, but that’s just me. The guys wouldn’t allow me to do so.”

“I’m glad that they wouldn’t because I don’t want any of you to be tossed into jail on my account.” Alaska smiled a watery smile at the men and shook her head. “Thank you, for telling me. You are all too good to me. I’m glad you are my family.” She leaned back against Drake and looked up at him. Can we be alone for a little while, please? I can’t do anything right now. I can’t think, I can’t breathe, I just need to be alone with you. Please?

Of course, little mate. Drake rose with her in his arms. “Gentlemen, thank you for bringing us the news you did and for acting as swiftly as you did. She needs to process everything that you brought to us. As I’m sure you are aware, this is hurting her, even with Oliver’s attempts to help heal the emotional trauma to her psyche. We will be in our room if you need us. Adam, go back to town and keep an eye on everything that’s happening. Trent, go to her parents and keep on an eye on them and make sure that they know we are here if they need us?” Drake gave orders even as he walked away from everyone in the room.

All Alaska could do was snuggle in closer to Drake and let out a sigh. I love you, Drake Tillman. I’m glad I came here for Christmas. You are the best present I could have ever gotten. She spoke in his mind, her teary eyes closed as she allowed him to take care of her.
