Anger and Muscles: A Muscles and Tattoos Bad Boy Romance by Peter Presley (7)

Callie

Well, guess what? I’ve been dating Korbin for about two months now, ever since I first slept with him at my apartment. And, believe it or not, it’s sort of like I’m dating the same kind of guy as Zach when it comes to what we do. Every time we go out somewhere, Korbin comes north.

Remember when he took me to Oak Tree, where it all started? Well, he’s taken me to other nice restaurants too. That’s been what we’ve done so far. I was so wrong when I assumed someone like him had no class.

The only problem I’m starting to have with him is that he doesn’t always get that I’m in school and that I have to study after work. He’s not in school. He just goes to work, and that’s it. He can’t just call and expect me to be free whenever he wants. But I guess I’ll just have to work with that. We’re going out again tonight. I’ll be done with my schoolwork by then, and I can give him my full attention.

We’re going to a casual bar tonight. I’m dressed in tight jeans, a cute blouse, and a black leather jacket. I’m also wearing these cute black boots that I recently bought. I think I look good for Korbin. He’s so fucking gorgeous it’s not even funny.

Okay, there’s my bell.

“Hello?”

“Hey, Callie. I’m here.”

“Cool! I’ll be right down.”

I love knowing a handsome guy is into me. I realize I was barely out of my relationship with Zach before I got into Korbin, but I’m happier this way. I just am. I don’t like it when there’s no man in my life.

I walk out the door of my apartment. Korbin is right out front, dressed in jeans, a shirt, and a black leather jacket. Coincidentally, just like me, but he looks way hotter. And he’s standing by a motorcycle holding a helmet.

“Wait . . . we’re taking that?” I say as I walk toward him.

“Yeah, I felt like a ride tonight.” He puts his helmet on.

As much as I think motorcycles are cool, I’ve never been on one. He reaches over and releases a cargo net securing a spare helmet. Then he hands the helmet to me. “Here, put this on.”

“Seriously, Korbin? I wish you had told me we’d be taking your motorcycle.”

“I wanted to surprise you,” he smiles. “Now put the helmet on so we can go.”

I’m a little pissed, but not as much as I could be. It might be sort of hot getting on this thing with my new boyfriend. He’s probably a good driver, at least I hope for my sake he is. I put the helmet on. Then Korbin reaches over and helps me get it fastened. He smiles at me as he does it.

He gets on the motorcycle and looks at me. “Now climb on, babe.”

“Um . . . okay.” I climb on behind him and wrap my arms around his waist. He feels good. I can’t deny that.

“You ready?”

“Yeah, I’m ready. Ride safe.”

“I always do, Callie.”

Then the motorcycle roars off, and we head down the road. I hold onto him even tighter. My heart is racing, but at the same time, I’m excited to be on this bike with him.

The bar is not too far away from here. As I ride with him, I’m sort of sad that our ride will come to an end soon. It’s not so scary after all.

We pull over to where the bar is, and Korbin finds a spot on the street. Luckily, we didn’t have to spend a long time finding a place to park his bike. Sometimes parking around here can get to be a hassle.

“How did you like that?”

“Actually, that was a lot of fun. Thanks.”

“We’ll just take our helmets into the bar. Come on.”

I grab Korbin’s hand, and we walk in.

Sitting here, I’m thinking about the ride. It was really nice to be on the back of a bike even though I was initially terrified. But Korbin has been acting strange for the past half hour. He keeps looking around like he’s expecting someone.

“What’s the matter with you?” I say. “You haven’t said much.”

“I think I want to get out of here.”

“Why? We haven’t even been here that long. What’s the matter?”

“I don’t like this bar. I want to go back to your place. Or, how about my place? You’ve never been to my place.”

“All the way over there? If you want to leave, we’ll just go back to my apartment, Korbin.”

“Do you have a problem with where I live?”

“No . . . I don’t. I just don’t see the point of going all the way there when you can just come to my place.”

“Yeah, all right. I’ll be back.” He gets up and walks toward the men’s room. I don’t know what to think right now. This bar is casual and a bit fancy, but everyone seems cool here. There’s a dance floor in the other room, and the music is good. But, the way Korbin is acting, I doubt I can get him to dance with me. I don’t know what his problem is.

I feel a tap on my shoulder, and I turn around. A really hot guy is staring at me. His body is as fit as Korbin’s.

“Hey, you want to dance?” he says.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I’m with someone.”

“Yeah?” The guy smirks. “Where is he?”

Now I’m annoyed. “He’s in the bathroom.”

“Dance with me until he comes out.”

“No!” My heart is pounding. “Would you please just go away?”

Now Korbin joins us. He looks the guy up and down. “Can I help you with something pal?”

The guy stares Korbin in the face. “Yeah, you can answer a question for me. Does she want to dance with me or stay here with you?”

Korbin’s face changes. “What did you say?”

The guy moves in a little. “You heard me.”

I jump up and stand between the two of them. “Guys, no. Okay? Korbin, let’s go.” Two guys come up to us as well. They must be friends of this jerk. Crap!

Korbin gives the guy a big push, and he stumbles back a bit, but he doesn’t fall.

The guy rushes back to Korbin.

“Hey, Tyler,” says one of his friends who has the guy by the arm. “Let’s go, buddy. Let’s shut this down.” The other guy is holding on to him too. Thank God.

I look at Korbin who is staring the guy dead in his face. “Korbin, please let’s just go, please?” Everyone in the bar is looking at us.

The guy’s friends drag him away. Korbin takes his helmet and storms out. I grab my helmet and follow him.

“Thank God nothing major happened in there,” I say.

“I could have taken him.”

“And then what, Korbin? You’ve gotten into enough trouble as it is. I could have handled myself back there, you know?”

“No guy is gonna move in on my girl.”

“He wouldn’t have succeeded, Korbin!”

“Let’s go back to my place. This bar sucks. This whole town sucks.”

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“Are you coming back with me, or not?”

What else am I supposed to do? I don’t want to be alone tonight. “Yes, of course, I will. Are you gonna bring me back here tomorrow?”

“Yeah, we’re cool.”

As soon as we get back on the bike, off we go. We have a long way to get to where he lives, and I don’t know what to think. Korbin almost got into another fight. He hasn’t been like this, but now the old Korbin is coming back.

We rush down Lake Shore Drive. I wrap my arms around him tighter. I wonder what his face looks like now?

We get to his apartment, one that has eight units. Korbin stops the motorcycle and removes his helmet.

“So, this is where you live, huh?”

“Yeah, this is where I live.”

He takes the helmet off of me before I can do it. He doesn’t have a mad look on his face, but he looks determined like he wants to get inside his apartment as fast as he can. He grabs my hand and takes me to his door.
