The air around me crackled. Beau watched my every move with lethal attention. Circling his bike was like circling my future. It felt imperative and soul consuming. I couldn’t have this not forever.

John was still hunting me. He was a cold shadow over my existence. The gut clenching pain hit with the realization Beau was mine but only temporarily.

My life has never been my own.
