Ben From Accounting (Office Gentlemen Book 1) by Sophie Stern (8)

Ben

Alice Cherry looks good enough to eat, and apparently, tonight is my lucky night because she looks ready to be devoured. She spots me after an eternity, and her gaze locks on mine. Her friend is whispering to her, but Alice doesn’t look away. She just watches me with those curious eyes, allowing her gaze to follow mine.

It’s time to make my move.

I stride confidently over to her.

“Joanna,” I greet her friend. “Lovely to see you tonight.”

“Yeah, you too,” Joanna smirks, choking back a giggle.

“Alice,” I turn to the object of my desires. “Fancy meeting you here.”

“Hi,” she squeaks out, but doesn’t say anything else.

“I have to admit,” I tell her. “This isn’t the type of place I thought I’d ever see you.”

“She’s scared,” Joanna tells me bluntly. “She wants to be spanked up on stage, but she’s afraid to go through with it.”

“Joanna!” Alice shrieks. Luckily, the music is loud and the room is already filled with the sounds of people having fun. No one notices her little outburst. If I was her Dom, I’d probably spank her for it, anyway. Politeness and all that. As it is, I’m not her Dom. I don’t have permission to paddle that sweet little bottom, much as I want to.

And, apparently, as much as she wants me to.

“Is that true?” I ask her.

“Is what true?”

Time for lesson number one: never lie to a Dom.

Joanna already knows this rule because she rolls her eyes at her friend.

“Dude,” she mumbles under her breath. “Did you not listen to anything I told you about the club? You can’t try to trick him. He’s a fucking Dom.”

“Thank you, Joanna.”

“Yes, Sir,” she says, nodding quietly.

Joanna is beautiful. She’s sweet, too, and funny. We’ve talked several times, but we’ve never played together. She usually has a partner, and now I’m suddenly glad we’ve never fooled around because it might make things awkward with Alice. Sweet Alice. How did she end up here tonight? Of all places I thought I’d bump into the little minx, this is the very last one I ever considered.

“Alice,” I say. “I believe I asked you a question.”

“It might be true,” she whispers. “I…I’m not sure.”

“You don’t know if you want a spanking?”

“I don’t know,” she agrees.

“Well, what do you want?”

“I don’t know.”

“What brought you here tonight?” I go easy on her, trying to get her talking. The truth is that maybe Alice really doesn’t know what she’s interested in. The idea of paddling her has my dick hard. If she looks, she’ll notice right away, but I’m more concerned with getting her talking than with turning her on right now.

“Joanna bought me a ticket,” she says. “As a birthday gift.”

“Still,” I tell her. “You wouldn’t have dressed up like that and come along with her if you weren’t at least a little interested in seeing what the club has to offer.”

She’s dressed like a fucking kitty cat. She’s in a tiny black dress. It’s strapless, and there’s no way she’s wearing a bra. If Joanna is a good friend – and I think she’s a very good friend – then Alice isn’t wearing panties, either. She has kitty cat ears on and her face is fucking painted.

Joanna matches, but in red.

“It was a nature theme,” Alice explains. “It’s…kitty cats, you know. There are kitty cats in nature.”

“Alice, most of the girls here are wearing dresses made from leaves and flowers. It’s obvious you wanted to stand out. Did you want to catch someone’s attention?”

“Yes,” she whispers.

I step forward, purposely invading her space. I reach for her chin, stroking her jaw gently. Joanna stays close. She’s a good friend, carefully watching over Alice. It’s not a good idea to be alone at a club, especially if it’s your first time. Anchored is the safest club I’ve ever been to, but when you’re new to BDSM, you never know what might frighten you the first time you go.

“Who?” I whisper. “Who did you want to impress, baby?”

Part of me can’t believe I’m touching her. I’m fucking touching Alice Cherry in the middle of Anchored. Our bodies are so close I can practically hear her heart beating. Images of her beneath me flash through my mind, but I push them out. There will be time for fantasies later. Right now, I just want to know who the object of her affection is.

“You,” she whispers.

“Me?”

“Yes,” she says. “I almost…I almost texted you a selfie tonight,” she blushes at the admission, and if it’s even possible, my dick gets harder, straining against my pants.

“Why didn’t you?”

“I was embarrassed,” she says. “And I mean, we work together. I didn’t think it was appropriate.”

“It’s definitely not appropriate,” I tell her. She starts to pull back, but I slide my hand back from her face to her hair, and I grab it snugly. Not enough to hurt, but enough to make a statement. “But do you really want appropriate right now, Alice?”

She looks up at me. Her tongue flicks out and licks her lips. Yeah, she’s thinking about kissing me. If I had to bet right now, I’d say it’s not the first time she’s had these thoughts, either.

“Tell me what you want, Alice.”

“You,” she whispers without hesitation. “I just want you.”

“Why?”

“You make me curious,” she says. “And you make me feel like I’m dirty, but in a good way. In the kind of way I’ve been searching for.”

“Holy shit,” Joanna says. We both turn to her. I think Alice forgot she was there just as much as I did. “I didn’t know you had a fucking mouth on you, bitch,” Joanna smiles and pats Alice’s shoulder. “I’m going to go over there,” she points to one of the side stages. “And watch the scene. If you need me, you know where I’ll be,” she says.

Alice nods.

Then Joanna turns to me. “Watch your back,” she says, and then she strides off.

“What the hell?” Alice mumbles under her breath. “I’m sorry. I don’t know why she said that. That was rude.”

“Not at all,” I tell her. “I get the message. You’re important to her. That’s good. I like knowing that a sub has friends who will watch out for her. We all need people like Joanna in our lives to take care of us.”

Alice looks up at me again, watching my eyes.

“Why are you here?” She whispers. “Are you meeting someone tonight?”

“I’m not dating anyone.”

“Do you…do you play with the girls here? Like Joanna? Sometimes she plays with people. That’s the word, right? Play?”

“That’s the word,” I smile. “And yes, sometimes,” I tell her honestly. “I like to play. I like to tie people up. I like to Dominate. I like having a scene and playing with someone. I love to make girls come. It’s quite the rush,” I tell her.

“Do you always sleep with them?” She asks. She’s not jealous or judgmental. Alice seems truly curious.

“No,” I tell her. If we’re going to play tonight, I see no reason to lie to her. Even if we don’t play, I still see no reason to lie to her. “Not always. Not even most of the time.”

“Huh,” she says.

“What’s that?”

“You just seem like kind of a player,” she tells me.

A sting. Suddenly, I feel it in my heart. She’s heard the rumors at work, I realize. Fucking Natasha. I hate the rumor mill almost as much as I hate Natasha’s friend who decided it was a good idea to tell all of Blossom Falls I was cruel and heartless to her. Now the entire building thinks I’m a piece of shit. It never bothered me before, but suddenly, it does. I don’t want Alice to think I’m that way.

“Whatever you heard about me at work,” I tell her. “It’s not true.”

“What do you think I heard?” She asks carefully.

“No games tonight, darling.”

“Seems fair.”

“Tell me what you want,” I try again.

Alice hesitates for just a moment, and then she lets her eyes move to the stage.

“I want to try it,” she says. “I’m ready.”
