Blocked Shot (Love on Thin Ice Book 1) by Amber Lynn (8)

“So, any thoughts about walking?” Curtis asked as he stroked Hannah’s hair.

The woman’s head rested on his chest as they took a little breather. Curtis had no idea what time it was, but there wouldn’t be any surprise on his part if days had gone by without either of them noticing. He hadn’t played out all of the fantasies he’d gathered over the years involving Hannah, but he’d made a pretty good dent in them.

Hannah scoffed and lifted her head long enough to give him a quick kiss on the chin. Thankfully for him, the woman was as insatiable as him. He’d lost count of how many times she climaxed, but he knew he was up to five. He was worn out, and hoped she didn’t mind taking a little nap to regain energy. They eventually needed to jump in the shower and get cleaned up, maybe head out for some dinner, but that took more energy than he had.

“It sounds like a fun concept, but there’s not a chance I’m trying it anytime soon. I hope you know you’ve ruined me for any other guy. I’m too scared to go looking for someone as high as you are on the sex scale. And there’s no way in hell I’m going to try to sleep with my under tens anymore.”

Her fingers traced the edges of his stomach muscles. The touch, along with just having her in his arms, made any chance of him softening slim to none, but at least she seemed content not doing anything about that fact.

They’d done it against the door, him on top, him taking her from behind, her on top for a little while and facing each other as they sat on the bed. It was hard to pick a favorite position out of the bunch. They hadn’t even dipped their toes into the world of oral sex, but it was going to be his first suggestion if he got his energy back up and they jumped in the shower.

“Do I dare ask what in the world a sex scale is?”

He knew before he asked that the concept had to have come from Nina. Dwelling on Hannah’s previous partners and ones she thought may come in the future wasn’t a topic Curtis wanted to spend time on, but he thought an explanation was necessary.

“It’s scary the things that come out of my mouth when I’m around you. I didn’t mean to say that out loud, and yet for some reason I’m not mortified I did.”

Curtis kissed the top of her head and lowered his hand playing with her hair so he could pull her closer to him. They were wrapped haphazardly in the sheets that were lucky to still even be on the bed. Having spent so much time on them, he’d made note that he needed to get something a little softer for the boat. The roughness of them against his skin clashed a little too much with the softness of Hannah’s skin.

“I know in general, you don’t like to voice an opinion, but I’m all ears when you want to. So, are you going to tell me about the sex scale?”

Hannah kept silent for a few seconds, causing Curtis to worry a little about what rock they were digging under. From the name, it sounded like it was just a rating system of some kind, which was stupid, but he could see women getting together and talking about that kind of stuff.

“It’s just a thing Nina came up with for me in high school. There are a number of factors taken into consideration and if a guy is too high on the score, I shouldn’t pursue sex. I know it sounds stupid, but it’s easy for someone like me to get in over my head.”

Her voice was a mix of her normal timid and a matter-of-fact attitude. She’d already said he didn’t even rate on the scale, so she’d broken Nina’s rules the second she got on the boat. He couldn’t help feel a little pride in the fact he helped Hannah in even just a small way get out from Nina’s thumb. The problem was that the score existed in the first place. That had to mean something happened to necessitate it.

“And I have too high of a score?”

He was curious exactly what made that so. He could guess, but the actual rating system was an interesting test in what kind of competition he had.

While he waited for an answer, a part of her statement had him searching his memory banks. She said the system started in high school, which is when many people become sexually active, but he was pretty sure Hannah didn’t even date until after they graduated. Curtis didn’t have any official intel to back up the sex part of it, but he did know there was no official boyfriend in high school.

He supposed sex didn’t have to happen to plan a rating scale for it. There was just something about the idea and timing that sounded weird.

“I’m not sure there’s a person out there with a higher score. The fact that you look like you’re carved out of stone puts you over my usual level. If you add in that your muscles have muscles, you’re a celebrity, you have a bank account with probably more than I will ever see in my life and you and Nina hate each other, I should have ran the other way.”

Hannah tapped her finger on Curtis’ chest as she listed out the details. Everything she said was so superficial. There wasn’t a mention of chemistry or desire, which was all Curtis really cared about when picking out a partner. He liked the idea that they had a brain as well, which put Hannah at the top of any scale he could think of.

“Are you telling me you get, or don’t get, points if Nina doesn’t like a guy? I know she rules your life, but it’s hard to swallow the idea that she controls who you sleep with too. What if you really hit it off with a guy, but she doesn’t like him?”

“It’s complicated, and I’d prefer not to get into it today. It’s not like she has to meet a guy before I hook up with them. I just tread carefully if she hasn’t.” Hannah rolled a little so more of her body was on Curtis’ and she could look up at him. “I’ve already told you that I won’t tell her about this, so you don’t have to worry about whatever reaction she’d have. I think we both know judging from last night it wouldn’t be good.”

There was so little light in the room that Curtis could barely make out the emotion in Hannah’s eyes. If it wasn’t for her pale skin reflecting what had to be moonlight outside, he wouldn’t have seen the worry.

“I don’t want this to be a one-time thing, Hannah.”

Curtis still wanted to talk about the past, and set the record straight about how Nina dictated things would be. With Hannah in his arms, it didn’t feel like it was the right time. He wanted to savor the moment longer before tearing her best friend to pieces.

“I don’t either, but we have to be smart about it. Since she lives in my apartment building, I can’t really invite you over to my place.”

“No, I suppose not. I’m guessing you’re going to worry about being seen if I were to suggest we go to dinner or out to the movies or something.”

Hearing that Hannah didn’t consider it just a wild one-day adventure for her made Curtis want to breathe a sigh of relief, but he kept it to himself. Flying under Nina’s radar was necessary to let Hannah get to know him without the outside interference of the shrew. He could live with that and the restrictions it would put on things for a while, but he didn’t like the idea of hiding what he felt. It was a good thing their circles didn’t really collide, because Brady already knew and it was going to be hard to hide a little improvement to his mood.

“You’re not just fucking me senseless and asking to do it again to get back at her, are you? I mean, I’m sort of okay with it if it feels like this every time, but I’d like to set my expectations for how long this is going to last.”

So much for the relief. The accusation felt like a knife being stabbed underneath his ribs.

With Hannah practically already on top of him, Curtis pushed her so her body covered him. Then, he grabbed onto her butt, pushed her up slightly and then back down so he could enter her. She put her arms on his chest and lifted herself up to extend how deep inside of her he went.

“This,” Curtis said as he pumped into her. “Has nothing to do with Nina. In fact, I think anytime we’re together and naked, her name should be strictly forbidden.”

Curtis would be happy to never hear her name again, but he knew when he decided to investigate whether Hannah would be open to seeing him, Nina was part of the package. He’d waited ten years to try something he failed miserably at in high school, which he thought was more than enough time for Nina to get over whatever issues with his rejection she had. Clearly, judging by the rating scale for sex and her “Hannah is off limits” decree, Nina wasn’t going to be on board anytime soon. As long as Hannah was on board, that didn’t matter.

“I’ll agree to that. Are you going to tell me what happened between the two of you?”

Hannah arched her back and hummed as she bopped up and down with her own rhythm. Other than the initial coupling and a thrust or two, Curtis was letting her take control. He’d tried it a couple times, but seemed to need to keep the pace himself. Since she brought up him making her senseless, he thought it was only fair he tried to prove she did the same to him.

“I’m pretty sure we agreed no Nina talk while we’re naked.” Curtis would’ve left it at that, but he wanted to make sure the record was straight on her specific question. “Be that as it may, nothing has ever happened between Nina and yours truly. That could be part of the problem from her side of things. I frankly don’t know and don’t care as long as she doesn’t get in the middle of what we’ve started.”

Hannah smiled and leaned down to kiss his lips. The cherry flavor had worn off, but Curtis still imagined it. Anytime the smell hit his nose in the future, he was going to instantly get horny.

“And this thing, are you considering it exclusive? I mean, it’s not like I have options lining up at my door, but I know you have a fan base throwing themselves at you. I imagine no fewer than two hundred women would die for the chance to be where I’m at.”

Curtis playfully smacked her bottom. He felt it was the right reaction for her questioning whether he was planning on sleeping around. The action caused a purring noise to emit from Hannah’s chest, which wasn’t exactly the scolding he was going for. He thought about swatting her again, but she was already squeezing him tight enough. They didn’t need another shockwave to solidify her grip.

“Whether we’re keeping things secret or not, there’s no way I’m going to have the energy to keep someone on the side. I have no desire to try, but I’ve got to state the obvious. I’m going to have my work cut out for me trying to keep you happy.”

He still didn’t know what time it was, but no matter how late it had gotten, six times in a day was definitely a record. He had no idea how he kept going. There had to be a little bit of making up for lost time calculated somewhere in the fact that he still had blood flowing at all in his body.

“Good, as long as there’s no one else sharing your bedroom, I’ll let you decide whether you start buying condoms in bulk. As I mentioned, I get a shot for birth control, so I’m not too worried about getting pregnant.”

The thought was a little disappointing. Curtis hadn’t thought that far into the future, but the idea of Hannah swollen with his child wasn’t a turn off. If anything, it motivated him to try to be the half a percent, or however slim the odds, that got pregnant even with birth control in place.

Curtis tried not to think about it. They needed to establish a solid foundation to their relationship before throwing in something like a kid. That didn’t mean he wouldn’t take the chance to see if he could beat the odds.

“At this point, if your birth control is strong enough to keep everything I’ve pumped into you today from growing, I don’t think we need to worry.”

All the thinking about babies snapped the idea of handing over the reins to Hannah. Her speed was fine, but Curtis needed control. He needed to drive Hannah insane with lust and the same need he felt.

He flipped them over, with speed and flow that impressed even himself. Hannah gasped as she realized her back was on the bed and Curtis was pounding harder into her than she could do on her own.

“Fuck me.”

They were Hannah’s go-to words it seemed. Curtis loved hearing them on her lips. He took them as a sign he was doing his job right.

“Oh, sweetheart, I warned you before you got on the boat. People are going to ask why you’re walking funny when you go to work tomorrow, and you’re going to blush and remember exactly how this felt. Your pussy is going to be so wet by the time we get together tomorrow night that I’m going to have to lap up all your juices just to make sure I don’t slide right out of you.”

It was all a bit of an exaggeration, but Hannah responded exactly how Curtis thought she would. Her back arched and she squeezed around him as an orgasm ripped through her. She’d been so careful about being quiet during her orgasms that it surprised Curtis that she let out a soft wail.

He’d talked dirty because he was on the edge and wanted to make sure she got there with him. While she tried to come down from the clouds, he spilled inside of her again. They’d sort of taken a bird bath in the shower the boat offered, but it was clear they were going to have to get serious about cleaning up a little more earnestly soon.
