Fireman's Filthy 4th: An Older Man Younger Woman Holiday Romance (A Man Who Knows What He Wants Book 22) by Flora Ferrari (10)

CHAPTER 14

Amy

July 6th

I wake up the next morning, and freak out for a second.

“Everything okay?”

“Yeah,” I say.  “Perfect actually.”

“You don’t seem perfect.”

“Sorry, it’s just that I forgot where I was for a second when I woke up.  My mind was like, where are you?”

“Do you need to go home?”

“Later.  It was the good kind of freak out, plus I’m right where I belong.”

“And where might that be?” he says.

“Right here in your arms,” I say, kissing him on the cheek.  I’m not sure if he’s ready for my morning breath just yet.

“Feeling energetic this morning?”

“You know I always am.”

“Great, because I was thinking we could grab a coffee and pick up some more trash.”

“Um, okay,” I say, wondering just how far his charitable pursuits extend.

“Just kidding!” he says, flipping me over and spanking me playfully.  “We can channel that energy in another direction,” he says, reaching down and playfully taking a bite out of my behind.

Last night had been an all out romp in-between the sheets, and the rest of the house for that matter.  I can’t believe he had so much energy after working such a long shift without any rest.  Not only that, but come on…he’s a lot older.  How in the world does he keep up with me?  But as I’m quickly finding out it’s me who is the one who’s going to have to keep up.  He’s got the energy, and the sex drive, of a sixteen-year-old boy.  But the best part is that he has the experience, attentiveness, and thoughtfulness of a real man.

We go for a quick morning session before leaving the bed, and then I head for the shower.

“Coffee in or out?” he asks.

“Let’s go out,” I say.  There’s that thoughtfulness of his again.

“Perfect,” he says.  “That means I can join you in the shower.”

“Oh my god.  You just don’t stop, do you?”

“Not when it comes to you.”

The second my back foot enters the shower his front foot is in.  He’s cleaning me with that masculine smelling body wash of his, but all I can think of are dirty thoughts.

We step out of the shower about thirty minutes later.  The water’s starting to get cold, and our sex count is already at two for the day…and climbing.

We hop in his Jeep and a few minutes later we’re pulling up to a quaint little coffee shop I’ve never seen before.  As much as I do love my Starbucks, it’s always cool to find the little mom and pop shops.  Plus it makes me feel good to support local businesses.

They seem to know him by name, and don’t even bother asking him what he wants.  A couple minutes later there’s a coffee, black, sitting in front of him, and something delicious, with a straw, in front of me.  I don’t even know the name because I don’t even know if it has a name.  The waiter said it’s off the menu, and something I might like.  I like this VIPish kind of treatment.

“I almost forgot,” the waiter says, a few seconds later.  “On the house,” he says, placing two mouth-watering scones on the table.

“You’re like a celebrity here,” I say.

“Nah.  I just know the owner.  That’s all.  Him and his wife actually.  Great people.”

I take a bite of the scone and consider if I should go down this road or not.

“What’s on your mind?  I can see you’re thinking about something?”

“You mentioned the owner and his wife.”

“Yep.  Want to meet them?”

“No, no.  It’s not quite like that.  It’s just that…well…you got me thinking.  What happened with your wife?  Sorry, I mean your ex-wife.”

I’m fumbling over my words this morning, but I don’t want to fumble this relationship.  Curiosity killed the cat, and right now this feline has got to know.  If we’re really going to do this I need to know if there are still some loose ends, feelings, or anything else in his past.

“No need to be sorry,” he beings.  “A few years ago she decided she wanted to be an actress.”

“An actress?”

“Well, apparently she won the Academy Award from me.”

“I don’t follow.”

“She said she wanted to be an actress, but apparently what she really wanted was to be the mistress of a big shot Hollywood director.”

“Oh.  Sorry, Laura didn’t ever tell me what happened.”

“Yeah, we don’t talk about it much.  The two of us kind of feel like she walked out on us.”

“It sure seems that way.”

“Probably, but it’s best not to dwell on it.  Life is short, and I’m forward looking.  I’m glad she got what she wanted out of life, and in the end everything worked out for both of us.”

“But you never remarried.”

“Not yet,” he says.  The conversation’s getting a little heavy all the sudden, but I am glad to know he sees me as real long term relationship material.  The longest of terms it seems.  Is he really thinking this could lead to that?  I mean, he is older so he’s not going to be one to waste time, right?

And as crazy as it seems I can see the two of us really continuing what we’ve started.  We’re great together and we’re having an amazing time.  It’s easy to see how the nice time we’re having now could turn into a nice month, then a nice year, and before you know it a nice life together.  That’s just crazy, I think to myself.  You just met him.  It was like my entire childhood I believed in love in first sight, and then I spent the last few years realizing there was really no such thing.  At least I was trying to convince myself of that.  But I’m glad I never quite did, because if I had it wouldn’t have allowed me to open up to this, and to him.

“And do you think you will one day?”

“Well, it takes two to tango, but yeah…the future’s looking bright.”

“Yeah,” I say.  “The future does look bright.”

With one finger I scoop up a little of the whipped cream on top of my coffee, quickly placing it on his nose.

He tries to lick it off with his tongue, but it’s not quite long enough.

“Don’t tire your tongue out,” I say.

“And why is that?”

“We’re going to need it later,” I say, leaning in for a kiss.

He keeps his tongue in his mouth, which tells me he knows exactly what I had in mind for later, and what part of my body I want him to put his lips, and tongue, on.
