Guilt by Sarah Michelle Lynch (27)

Chapter Twenty-Eight

THE DOORBELL RINGS AT 6.30PM on Saturday evening, right on time. I saunter down the hallway and open the door, poking my head around it. I’m wearing the underwear he sent me earlier this week – and naught else.

When I catch sight of him wearing a blazer over his usual t-shirt and jeans, I can’t help but start to pant. His clothing only accentuates the shoulders I’m already enamoured with, not to mention his long throat and unbelievable bone structure.

When he sees me, running his eyes up and down my body, my nude stockings complemented by dove-grey suede heels, he moves swiftly towards me and pins me against the wall.

“Ahh,” I squeal, when he throws me up into his arms.

He takes my breath away with deep kisses against my mouth, then his lips are feathering across my cleavage, my throat, my shoulders and arms.

“I missed you,” he groans. “You look amazing, but I booked a table.”

“No, let’s stay in.”

“Oh, okay…”

He licks between my breasts and squeezes my bum in his hands, my hands buried in his hair as he sets my nerve endings on fire. He pushes his erection against my stomach and growls, “No, we can’t. Not yet. I’ve made plans for us.” He inhales my scent and groans. “Go and put a pretty dress on. I want to show you off. We need to go on our first date.”

He pulls his face out of my chest and looks desperate when he catches my eye. I gulp and goosepimples rush over my skin.

“Hello,” I whisper, kissing his mouth softly, brushing back his hair and grinning.

His passion and desire for me has given me something to live for. How could I deny him?

“You look very beautiful and I am a very lucky man.”

“Where are you taking me?”

“For a meal,” he says, his eyes swimming with lust.

“Okay. I’ll put on a dress.”

“Please. You’d likely cause me heart failure if not.”

I lean in to smell his cologne and purr in response to the heat and warmth emanating from his skin.

“You are so sexy, Samuel.”

“Get dressed, kitten. Trust me.”

“Okay.”

He lets me down but watches me all the way up the stairs. In the bedroom I quickly dig out a simple peplum black dress, tight and figure-hugging. It’s lucky I did my hair and make-up earlier. I’m good to go.

I tread carefully down the stairs and he chuckles with delight as I walk back towards him.

We wrap our arms around one another and kiss one another deeply, all over again.

“I could kiss you forever,” he groans between kisses, “and ever… and ever… and ever.”

“Yes, but now I’m afraid I’m all dressed up, so we’d better go. Can’t waste this now, can we?”

“We can’t, can we?” he says, pulling away, then rearranging himself.

I reapply my lipstick in the hall mirror before we head out to his car.

The car slides away into the night and I have no idea where he’s taking me. Part of me is thrilled, but mostly I’m ultra-aroused and probably will remain so all night. I think he knows exactly what he’s doing – and I am in no way complaining.
