Here Comes Trouble (Nothing Special Book 3) by A.E. Via (18)

Ruxs pulled into the back alley of one of their favorite delis on their way back to the precinct. They’d called and told Syn about the minimal activity at the warehouse. Verifying that they got good shots and they could start to strategize their entry plan. Syn said to get the pictures in to them before God and Day returned from their meeting. Green knew the budget meeting could take hours, and lunch was a must right now. He was starving after what he’d done to Ruxs. He smiled about it again. His goal was to get his partner’s mind off his piece-of-shit mother and it looked like he’d accomplished that since Ruxs was sporting the same sappy grin on his own face.

Ruxs sat opposite his friend. Green had finished his sandwich and chips, now he was reclined in his chair staring at him. Ruxs dropped the last corner of his sandwich, quickly wiped his mouth with the napkin. “Why the hell are you staring at me like that?”

Green stood up and Ruxs got a good glimpse at the large bulge in his cargo pants. Green gave him a shit-eating grin before turning serious. “Outside. Now.”

Ruxs watched Green walk out the door of the deli. He sat for a second thinking how much his life had changed in what seemed like a matter of minutes. His mom was out of his life, but Green was all over him. Showing him so much care and love it was as if he was filling the void he’d felt open when his mom turned on him. He’d made him feel so good last night; and this morning, Ruxs hadn’t had long to think of his mom scared in a jail cell. Detoxing the torturous way. Ruxs dumped their food, waving bye to the storeowner and went out the door Green had just exited through.

He turned the corner, walking deeper into the alley where he’d parked in the no-parking zone. Green was leaning against the driver side door. Ruxs walked up to him. “I’m not driving anymore?”

Green gripped his leather coat and pushed him up against the door he had just been leaning on. He crushed his mouth over Ruxs’ and delved in deep. Ruxs opened for the assault, grabbing on to Green’s waist. He tasted like pepperoni and diet Coke. Ruxs ground his rising cock against Green’s hard pelvis. Their tongues waging a battle for dominance. Ruxs was already panting, wanting more, needing more, craving so much more. Green took Ruxs’ hand and shoved it down his pants, letting Ruxs feel his excitement. He closed his palm over the hard shaft. It was searing and heavy in his fist. Like silk over a steel rod. Ruxs tore his mouth away, taking in a sharp breath.

“Fuck. Gotta little problem don’tcha,” Ruxs said, giving Green a sly grin.

Green gripped him on the back of his neck, the other hand with a mean grasp on his jaw. It hurt and felt good at the same time. Ruxs looked into Green’s dark eyes and started to stroke him slowly. “Yeah. I got a big fuckin’ problem, Mark.” Green licked Ruxs’ slack mouth and bit his way to his ear. He moaned low, growling against the shell of his ear. “If we weren’t in this nasty alley, I’d make you get on your knees and fix my damn problem.”

Ruxs’ body responded to the idea of sucking Green. He admitted that he liked the thought, it made him instantly hard, but he wouldn’t know what he was doing. Green was a master at it. He didn’t want to disappoint him, especially after his partner had made him feel so good… twice.

“Don’t worry, babe. I’ll make sure you do a good job.” Green smiled against his cheek, rubbing his stubble against his.

“I want you.” Ruxs moaned. Running one hand up and down Green’s muscular back while he continued to stroke him with the other. He lifted his head higher, letting Green suck and chew on his neck. “Want you so bad.”

“And you’ll have me,” Green said softly. “Any way you want me.”

Ruxs thought of Green under him, lying on his stomach, while he pushed deep inside him. He already knew it was an inferno in there, since his finger was as deep as it would go this morning. Now he couldn’t help but moan at how good it would feel if his cock was bottomless in that warmth. Being sucked in deeper and deeper. Ruxs dipped his hand down, grabbing a handful of Green’s tight ass, pushing him forward so he could grind into him. Green hissed and sucked his neck harder. But, damnit, it wasn’t enough, he doubted he’d ever get his fill of this magnificent man. They kept going, both trying to make the other feel as good as possible.

“WHERE ARE YOU ASSHOLES WITH MY GODDAMN PICTURES?”

Ruxs and Green both damn near jumped out of their skin when God’s dark voice boomed through their radio. Ruxs hurried to the other side, jumping up into the cab.

“Damnit! What time is it Green?” Green was already in his seat with the truck started and peeling out of the alley in reverse.

“Shit. I don’t know. It’s only like one. I didn’t think they’d be done this early.”

“GET YOUR COCKS OUT OF YOUR HANDS AND BRING ME MY SHIT!”

Neither one of them bothered picking up the mic and responding. God wasn’t expecting them to. Ruxs turned and looked at Green. He figured his hard-on had fled the same way his did. When Green met his eyes, the corner of his mouth twitched with amusement and that was all it took for Ruxs to burst into laughter.

“I thought you’d yanked my dick off, you jumped so hard,” Green said through his laughing fit.

“Fuck you.” Ruxs laughed. “You jumped too.”

“Hell yeah, I did. I thought he was sitting in the damn truck it was so loud.” They kept laughing at basically being caught all the way back to the precinct. It was like getting caught behind the bleachers in high school. Green sped into the parking lot, doing a terrible job of parking and hurried out of the truck.

They walked up to the door, walking in just as those two irritating vice detectives were walking down the hall.

“Hey guys. Just saw God and Day in the captain’s office again. They sure don’t look happy. Where’s your smug grin now Green?”

“Right here, fuck-face.” Green sneered, cupping his dick and balls.

One of the detectives turned and got up in Green’s face. Ruxs grabbed him by his collar and pulled him back hard enough for him to hit the wall. “Back off,” he barked.

“Keep your goddamn hands off me, Ruxsberg.” The detective stood at his full six-foot height but still had to look up to Ruxs.

Ruxs moved forward, bumping the man with his ample chest. “Or else what?”

“This what you guys have time for?” God barked in his country drawl while making his way down the hall towards them.

Ruxs and Green turned from those assholes, both of their angry glares meeting their lieutenants’. God looked back and forth between them before his own angry gaze settled on the vice detectives. “Let’s go, we got work to do,” God said turning to walk over to their office.

“Hey, God. You need to keep a damn leash on your guard dogs,” one of them yelled at God’s back. “I should file a complaint.”

God turned and the vice detective paled visibly. He walked back over to them, not stopping until they were looking up at him. God’s voice a menacing snarl. “I’m only going to say this once. Stay away from my men, stay away from my department. You wanna file a complaint. Fine. I’ll put it in the pile with the others. I’ll get to it when I don’t have shit else to do. So make sure you hold your breath.” God turned and left them feeling like nothing. He snatched the camera out of Green’s hand and began to flip through the pictures as he walked.

Ruxs and Green followed close behind God, moving through the bullpen. God’s head was buried in the camera, not really looking where he was going. Officers hurried out of their way. Not out of fear. It was because they were so damn big. So it was either move or get run the hell over.

He burst through the door and they noticed that everyone was there already, probably waiting on them. “Sorry we’re late, guys.”

“Mm-hmm,” Day said, looking carefully at them.

Ruxs tried not to meet his all-knowing eyes. It looked like Green was doing the same. Shit. Day could read people as easily as he could read a book. And he was never wrong… or rarely wrong. Everyone gathered into their meeting area, which consisted of several chairs, a couple couches, and a long dry erase board. God stood at the front, Syn sitting off to his side with his head buried in a file. The IT guys were sitting at the table in front of their laptops, ready to report when God asked them. Day walked by him and Green, still watching them.

“So what took you guys so long?” Day said easily, a slight smirk playing on his lips.

All eyes turned to them. Green slid down in his chair, leaving Ruxs to face the interrogation. There wasn’t a good answer.

“Syn said you guys called him an hour and a half ago. It only takes thirty minutes to get here.” Day propped his hip up on the corner of the table next to God.

Ruxs dropped lower in his own chair. “We stopped to get a sandwich is all,” Ruxs said quickly. He wanted the attention off of them. “So let’s move on with the plan, we got some good pictures. Um, IT can you get those up on the screen, please.”

God stood with his arms folded. Day was still watching them. No one had moved and Ruxs blew a frustrated sigh. Goddamn Day.

“It took that long to get a sandwich?” Day looked around in mock confusion. “Ruxs, I’ve seen you both inhale a foot-long in less than two minutes.”

“What’s your point Day?” Ruxs snapped.

“He’s saying next time you two want to get each other off, do it on your own time,” Syn said around his own grin.

Green dropped his head into his hands. Ruxs knew he was a nice shade of red as everyone gasped and gaped at them. Vicki was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes.

“W-what? That’s crazy. We weren’t doing —”

Day waved his hand in the air cutting him off. “Save it Ruxs. You got more bite marks on your neck than Edward gave Bella.”

Everyone stopped laughing and talking, turning back to Day with bewildered expressions. “What?”

“What does that mean?” God asked, a confused frown creasing his handsome face.

Day looked at everyone with shock. “Oh come on. Edward and Bella… from the movie Twilight.”

A bunch of heavily muscled, badass detectives looked back and forth between each other. All of them shaking their heads in confusion. God was looking at Day with a disgusted look. “Jesus Christ, Leo.”

“Everyone’s seen that.” Day began to laugh.

“The hell,” God said.

“Why haven’t you guys seen those movies? None of them! You didn’t see any of them?” Day asked louder.

Syn ducked his head like he was overly interested with the file in his hand. Everyone barked out a bunch of “fuck nos” and “what the fucks.”

“Hell no, Leo. None of us saw them because we’re grown ass men, not sixteen-year-old girls,” God said sarcastically. “Don’t ever fuckin’ reference that movie again.”

Day flipped God off and unfortunately turned his attention back to Ruxs and Green, looking real serious. “It’s cool you two are together. It’s about damn time.”

Ruxs and Green both looked up in shock. The rest of the team were nodding their heads in agreement with their lieutenant. Ruxs figured no one would be weird about it, but that didn’t mean that they were ready to make an announcement.

“Look Ruxs. We all know what happened last night with your mom, man. You know we don’t have any secrets. But we’re all real sorry about it,” Day said. All amusement and teasing gone.

A couple of guys sitting closest to Ruxs reached over and patted his back and shoulder. He had a hard time saying thanks, his throat tight with emotion and embarrassment. He knew the guys weren’t thinking he was a loser, but he sure felt like one.

He felt Green nudge his boot from beside him. He turned and looked at him. Green gave him a slight wink and blew him a kiss in front of everyone and it started the catcalls and whistling, making Ruxs blush again. Just like that Green had changed his mood.

“So is he any good, Green?” Day yelled over the whistling and teasing remarks.

Green made a face of ecstasy, before answering. “You have no idea.”

Green jumped up and ran to the other side of the office when Ruxs moved to punch him in his mouth. They laughed for a while, more good-natured ribbing being done at his and Green’s expense before God calmed all of them down so they could get some actual work done.
