Hunting Gypsy (A Hauntingly Romantic Halloween Novella Book 3) by M.K. Moore (8)

Epilogue

Gypsy

Ten Years Later

I love being pregnant. Good thing though, because Duncan has kept me good and knocked up the entirety of our marriage. This is the longest I’ve gone without a baby in my belly and I gotta say, I hate it. Duncan has been traveling for work, but he will be home today. Gabe and Duncan started a small construction company that has flourished over the years. They are in Atlanta today closing out a job on a plantation. They care about how older homes that are hotbeds of paranormal activity are remodeled. Lulu and I have gotten close over the years. I mean, how could we not?

That night was a blur, but Paeter got away while I was helping Lulu. I heard he met his maker a few years later when he tried the same thing again. Karma’s a bitch. It’s much better to wait for your mate than to try to take someone else's. Common sense really, but it turns out he didn’t have much of that.

Luna’s seven little angels and my nine are currently running around the playground paradise we have set up on the grounds of the Mansion. The girls have sectioned themselves off from the boys in the castle. The boys are playing pirate on the jungle gym. Lulu and I are sitting at the patio table, drinking wine. It might be a little early in the day, but we literally have our hands full with sixteen children all under the age of ten. We’re allowed.

“Lulu, I’ve missed Duncan so much. This is the longest we’ve been apart since we met.”

“I know what you mean, Gypsy. It’s the same with Gabe and me. But it’s only been three days and they will be home tonight.”

“Yeah, I know. I just haven’t slept well since he’s been gone. I need him. He’s so warm and cuddly. He just makes sleep happen.

“I know,” she says, patting my hand.

I look out over the playground and see my little Mischa and Lulu’s Felix making something in the sandbox. When did they join up? You really can’t take your eyes of kids, even for a second. Mischa’s Light is strong as she clasps hands with Felix. “Holy shit,” I whisper and nudge Lulu.

“What?” she asks. I point to the sandbox. “Is that what I think it is?” she whispers.

“It is. Duncan is going to lose his mind,” I say honestly. Mischa is our only daughter. With her being only eight, he thought he had several more years before he had to worry about this. Me on the other hand, I am delighted. Mischa won’t have to go through the torture of seeing but not knowing her mate all of her life. I watch as Felix puts his arm around Mischa’s shoulder, as he has seen his father do to Lulu countless times.

“That’s about the cutest damn thing I’ve ever seen,” Lulu says. I agree by crazily nodding my head. I pull out my phone and take a quick picture of the two. I think they’ll want to see that in the future. I am lost in my thoughts when I hear the kids screaming various versions of “Dad.” Both Lulu and I look up in time to see both of our guys coming through the back gate and immediately getting swarmed with the kids. We have had many opportunities to move out of the mansion over the years, but we never felt it was right. Lulu’s Sight pretty much told us that we shouldn’t, so we didn’t. We help each other out and we are like a big family.

I wait until the kids get bored with their daddy and go back to playing.

“God, I missed ye, Mate.”

“I missed you too, so fucking much,” I say, getting up from the table and jumping into his arms.

“Right back where ye belong,” he says kissing me soundly.

“Fuck, I missed that.”

“Me too, Lass. Me too.”

Later that night, after dinner, baths, snuggles, and the reading of not one but three stories, they are all asleep.

“How was Atlanta?” I ask as we get ready to step into the shower. “Any pretty girls?” I had worked myself up thinking that he’d meet someone else. He is so handsome, and I’ve gained quite a bit of weight with each of our babies. I am always worried that despite out mating bond he will find some other woman more attractive to him than me, but his sexy scoff tells me that my worry was for nothing.

“Lass, I have told ye a thousand times, I love ye and there will never be another for me. Ye have always been the most beautiful woman in the world to me,” he says lifting me up into his arms. His cock hits my clit and causes me to moan.

“You have to say that because you are my husband,” I pout.

“Nae, I dinnae. I say it because it is true. Enough of this, Gypsy. Why do ye like to torture me so?”

“Because I fucking can,” I say as he slides his cock into my pussy. He chuckles at that.

“God, Lass. This pretty pink pussy is still so tight, like the first time every time.”

“I do Kegel exercises,” I reply, laughing. I reach between us and play with my clit while he fucks into me. I tighten my pelvic floor muscles, just to fuck with him.

“Keep that up and I willnae ever stop,” he growls.

“That’s the plan, husband. You are so strong.” My Light erupts from my fingers.

“Do it,” he demands, and I put my hands on his biceps. He likes when I mark over my fingertips on him. It only happens at certain times, but I know this will be memorable for us. I feel his warm seed flood my womb and same strange completeness feeling washes over me again. I wait a few moments, eyes closed and still clinging to Duncan.

“Open yer eyes, lass. Look down. It’s beautiful.” I do as he says, and I’m surprised to see two distinct lights glowing from my belly.

“Twins?” I rack my brain trying to remember the last time this happened in my family and I come up with nothing. Twin witches are rare. Very rare.

“Very common in my family. I am surprised we haven’t had a set before.”

“Should be interesting. The water is getting cold,” I say smiling.

“I love ye lass, more than life itself,” he says, setting me back down on the floor.

“I love you too.”

As we finally climb into bed, I remember to tell him about Mischa and Felix. Of course, he grumbles, but in the end, the only thing he can be is happy for her.

Life with this man and our huge family is all I ever wanted, and I will not stop fighting for it.

For I am the Light of the Monster, first of my kind, mother of the strongest hybrid shifters known to man.

Yeah, I got this.
