Mr. Buff: A Flaming Romance by Milly Taiden (13)

13

Alexandra smiled at everyone on her way to work. Who would have thought she’d ever find herself this excited to get to her office? She’d been traveling. She hadn’t had a chance to see Andrew, having arrived just the night before. A smile played along her lips, her thoughts on the last time they’d seen each other, three days before.

He’d made her a candlelit dinner, which she was still impressed with because she couldn’t cook to save her life. They’d made popcorn, watched a romantic comedy, and talked. Whoever said romance was dead hadn’t met Andrew Carter. She was ready to get down on one knee and propose, even if just for his cooking skills. He’d even snuggled with her after sex—that was major.

Then, he’d surprised her with tickets to the Broadway musical she’d been dying to see but kept putting off. He even promised Junior’s cheesecake. How in the world was she not supposed to lose her heart to a man who promised chocolate cheesecake and theater tickets without any qualms about what it would do to his manhood? It was impossible.

After unlocking her office door, her eyes immediately went to the windows and the view. Normally about this time, Andrew was back in his office after working out. Sure enough, he was there, but on the phone and pacing in his bare feet. He didn’t look happy when he glanced at his watch.

Her stomach soured. She hadn’t done anything wrong, had she? Shaking her head, she reprimanded herself mentally. Of course, she hadn’t. His world didn’t revolve around her. He was a very busy, very important business man. Which made her wonder why in the hell he wanted her. He could have anyone.

Shaking her head again, she pushed those thoughts away. She knew who she was, what she wanted out of life. Well, that was until the past several days before meeting Andrew. Now her plans were changing more toward the family way of thinking than just being alone forever.

When she looked out her window, Andrew was standing at the window staring at her, no longer on the phone. A gasp caught in her throat at his intense, sexy look. God, she was about to melt remembering all the hot sex.

How she wanted to run over there and run her hands along his body. In his workout clothes still, every muscle was outlined from his pecs to his perfectly squeezable round ass.

His hands grabbed the bottom on his tank-top style shirt and he slowly lifted it up his body. His abs, inch-by-inch, came into view. She recalled how her tongue had traced each of those valleys and planes, tasting better than double chocolate fudge cake.

When his thumbs hooked the waistband of his shorts, her heart skipped a beat and pulse double-timed.

Slowly—once again, teasing the shit out of her—he pushed the material to fall to his bare feet. His red boxer-briefs were sexy as hell.

She licked her lips as his hand rubbed over his erection still contained in clothing. Damn, she’d never been jealous of a pair of underwear before. Her hand fisted as it had when wrapping around his cock just before sucking it hard the other night. A shiver ran through her. Her panties were soaked.

His fingers dragged up his cock and slipped under the waistband. She couldn’t breathe any longer. Her body vibrated, needing his cock in her pussy now.

As he pulled the briefs down, he spun around, showing off is scrumptious ass. She’d spank it right now, for all the teasing, if she were in his office.

Once the briefs hit the floor, he kicked them to the side and slowly, dammit, he took forever turning to face her. Him stroking his very hard cock almost brought her to her knees. Her breaths came in quick pants. Her hands pushed against the glass of the window. When had she gotten out of her chair?

Who cared? She was about to push through to get to his side. She was hot enough to melt the freaking pane.

His fist pumped faster. He put a hand on the window as his head fell back. She knew the moans he was making. She loved them, encouraging her to continue whatever she was doing. Her fingers itched to touch all that glorious flesh. She had him over the weekend, but that would never be enough. She wanted him forever.

His orgasm slammed into him as his body jerked in response and white liquid shot from his cock. Fuck. Her knees gave out at that point and she slid to her knees.

She watched his chest expand and shrink with each breath, in sync with her own. You’d think she came with him.

He smiled and blew her a kiss, then headed for his office shower. She waved a goodbye, returning his smile. That’s when she noticed his office door was cracked open. Had he not shut it when coming in?

When Leslie slipped in, Alex knew the bitch had been watching. The woman made eye contact with her. Well, the cat was out of the bag on the secret office “rendezvous.”

Leslie strutted up to the window, wearing a full-length fur coat. It had better be fake fur or Alex would pummel the woman herself. Rich bitch. Leslie reached out and the blinds began to close. When she did, her coat fell open revealing she was completely naked underneath.

That motherfucking, piece of shit, ho slut, hag. The last straw was the bitch wiping some of Andrew’s cum from the window and sucking it off her finger. Wearing a smug smile, she waggled her fingers as the windows turned opaque.

No fucking way was this happening. She would put a stop to whatever Leslie thought she was going to do. Anxiety flowed through her at the thought of Andrew giving in to basal human needs with a perfect body in the shower with him.

Alex hopped to her feet, heading for the door. Stepping into the hallway, someone called her name. She turned to see the accounting manager with a package the size of a boot shoebox.

“Good morning,” he said.

She didn’t have time for his shit; she was on a mission. “Hey, Robert. I’m on my way out for a moment.”

“Sure. I just wanted to thank you for finding the error in the system.” Alex doubted he really wanted to thank her. More like kill her for calling him out on it. She wondered how long he’d been defrauding the company.

“You’re welcome. Just doing my job.” She took a couple steps down the hall, hoping he took the hint.

He went on. “I stayed all weekend and researched the files. Not positive when that account was set up. It was before I started, so it’s been at least five years.”

Alex slid farther from her door. That would mean over $2.5 million had been stolen. “I’m glad you’ve got it solved. But I really need to go, if you know what I mean.”

His eye popped wide. “Oh, sorry.” He held up the box. “This was waiting for you up front. It must be some things our other payroll lady had called in and put on backorder.”

Whatever. She would punch him if he didn’t shut up already. “Just put it on my desk. I’ll be right back.” With that, she didn’t give him the opportunity to say anything more.

A few minutes later, Alex stepped into the elevator of Andrew’s building. Several people were in the carriage, including Jen, Andrew’s secretary. That would explain how Leslie was able to sneak into his office. Jen had been in the café, a banana and container of yogurt in her hands.

Alex tried to catch her eye, but the angle was wrong. She didn’t want to call out and have everyone look at them, so she kept quiet.

She had loved the simplicity of their budding romance. Like a flower, their relationship had been flourishing. Now, it seemed he’d cut it from the root.

She dug her nails into her palms. She’d opened up to him. Unlike she’d ever done before, she’d allowed the man to touch a deeper part of her. Tapping her heel in the elevator, she visualized all the ways to kill both of them.

It had been too good to be true. She just knew it. She’d been surprised and a little scared at how quickly things seemed to work between them. Almost as though they’d been together for a long time, they divided their evenings between her place and his. The days that followed were filled with dinners, movies, regular couple stuff.

Reaching the correct floor, the two women exited the elevator. Jen took off. “Jen, wait.” The secretary startled and turned.

“Alexandra? What are you do—never mind.” Jen spun around and continued on. Alex had to jog to keep up. When she did, Jen didn’t look at her or even talk to her. The woman looked angry. Did she know who was visiting her boss at this second?

“Jen,” Alex said, “when you were out just now, Leslie sneaked into Andrew’s office while he was in the shower.”

With confusion on her face, Jen glanced with her. “How would you know that?”

Alex didn’t want to explain their building to building love affair, but she had no choice. “Because I saw her from my office window.”

“Your what?”

“I’ll explain later. Right now, we need to get to Andrew’s office and stop whatever he’s doing.”

Apparently agreeing, Jen stepped into a fast jog to the office door. On her way past her desk, she tossed her food on a paper towel and continued to her boss’s door. She knocked.

Alex was ready to barge through and did when no one replied. “He’s in the shower,” she said, stomping across the office. She threw open the bathroom door and found Leslie’s wet body plastered to Andrew’s against one of the transparent shower walls, sucking on his face like a leech on a vein.

The bitch saw her and Jen over Andrew’s shoulder and tore her mouth from Andrew’s the same time he pushed her hips away. “I love you, too, Andrew.”

He had told her that he loved her? Alex’s heart crumbled. She knew it was too good to be true.

“Leslie, I said get out.”

The heiress held his face in her hands, not letting him turn. “Andrew, darling, tell the cleaning lady this isn’t the time to do your office. We’re in the middle of something right now.”

“What? Shit. Give me that towel.”

Alex took a step toward the woman. “Excuse me?” She bit back the impulse to slap the smirk off the blonde. Andrew was the one at fault here as he was playing games with her.

“Alexandra?” he said, trying to get out of the bitch’s hold on him. “How did you get here?”

Leslie looked down her nose at Alex. “I said we are busy, or can you not see that we’re in the middle of a private moment here? Seriously, Andrew, what does it take to get good help around this place?”

“I said shut up, Leslie.” His voice had become loud.

Locking her gaze to his, Alex watched the anger radiating from his eyes. Good, let him be pissed he got caught. “Congratulations, you truly are one miserable son of a bitch. I should’ve known this was going to happen.” She shook her head at her own stupidity. Jack had warned her.

“Alexandra.” He looked from the woman in his shower to Alexandra and shook his head. “It’s not what it looks like.” He managed to slip out of the shower and grab the towel. Leslie had no compunction about covering up.

Famous last words, they were so clichéd she was unable to stop rolling her eyes. She might have kept her cool if he hadn’t said that.

Giving a short, bitter laugh, she narrowed her eyes. “No. Now it’s your turn to shut up! You don’t get to say anything to me anymore. Don’t come near me, or I swear, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.” She smiled at the model. “You can have him, but I’d be wary of leaving town, he might just replace you with something new.” Alex walked out of the bathroom just when the blonde grabbed Andrew by the arm.

Opening the office door going to Jen’s desk and reception, Alex froze in her tracks then whipped her head around to them. The other three dragged through the room behind her. Jen with death-ray eyes aimed at a naked Leslie and Andrew’s fixed on Alex.

She turned back to the new visitor, who happened to be her ex-boyfriend. “What are you doing here, Jack?”

Jack’s astonished expression glanced up from her to the group behind. When his eye held a sparkle, she figured he’d spotted Leslie, all of her.

Eyes still on Leslie, he said, “What are you doing here?”

“Mr. Masterson,” Jen cried out. “You’re early.”

“If you want the naked bitch,” Alex said with a thumb pointing over her shoulder, “she’s yours. You are made for each other.” Alex then turned to Jen. “Mr. Masterson?”

Over the chaos, Andrew’s voice rang out. “Jack, thanks for coming over so quickly.”

Alex shot shocked eyes to Andrew. “You know this jerk?”

Jen sputtered, “Alex, hush. He’s Andrew’s partner in business.” Jen stepped around Alex to get to Jack. “Can I get you a cup of coffee?”

“Partner?” Alex mumbled. “Seriously?”

Leslie stopped trying to get to Andrew and slithered up to Jack’s side. “Are you rich?” she asked, rubbing her bare chest against his arm. Jen slapped at her to get away.

“Oh, for God’s sake.” Alex shook her head.

“Jack,” Andrew said, “if you would give us a minute.” He reached out to her, but she anticipated it and had moved to put the group between her and Andrew.

“I have nothing to say to you.” Then she remembered the phone call Jack had at the restaurant just before she dumped him. He was trying to screw someone over. He said the name Carter. She thought it was a first name, but could it have been a last name? As in Andrew Carter?

She flashed anger-filled eyes at Jack. As if he knew what she was thinking, he returned the glare. “No,” Alex said, “that’s not true. I have one more thing to say.” She pointed at Jack. “This asshole intends to screw you over as much as he can. Read carefully whatever you sign, Andrew.” With that she stomped out the door into the hall.

She heard Andrew call after her. She glanced over her shoulder to see him step into the hall with just his towel around him. Jack grabbed his arm and Jen shrieked, “Andrew, you can’t go out there You’re naked.” He disappeared back into the office with a jerk from Jack.

She shoved her way through a group of men in the hall gawking and ran into the elevator. Standing there, she saw Andrew try to get through the same group of men to reach her. Jack and Jen stopped him. Leslie leaned out the office door, a smug look on her face. Andrew yelling her name, his furious face was the last thing she saw when the doors closed.

Holding back tears, she got back to her office in record time. She closed the blinds so she wouldn’t see him if he re-opened his.

Head in her hands, the tears flowed. Her desk was covered in three-ring binders and files. To reach the tissues, she pushed everything out of the way, which shoved the box the account manager had put there over the front side of her desk.

Next she knew, she was lying on the floor, ears ringing, head spinning, and the smell of something burnt wafting in the air before her world went dark.
