My Captain's Baby: An M/M Omegaverse Mpreg Romance (Delta Squad Alphas Book 1) by Eva Leon (2)

Chapter Two

Zane

The intel on my computer was the only thing saving me from going into a complete frenzy. When I’d been in the hall talking to Sergeant Chandler, I’d picked up the most delicious omega scent I’d ever smelled. I’d been racking my brain trying to figure out where it had come from because, at the time, it was just me and Aden in the hall.

One of the administrative officers must have been in that hall seconds before we arrived. I had to figure out who he was. Whoever that omega was, the scent was like coming home to me. I hadn’t even known that someone who I could see bonding with worked in my building. They had to be a new transfer. Omegas were only allowed in noncombat positions, so a lot of them worked around me in office assignments. Somewhere out there was a secretary that would belong to me. That seemed so cliché.

It sounded crazy even to me. How could I tell that they should be my bonded mate just from a hint of vanilla and spice fragrance? I have no idea, but I knew. For sure. My daddyhad always told me that when you know, you know. I thought she was crazy. I even thought my omega twin was crazy when he married his Alpha a week after they met, but I had been the crazy one. Turns out that my mom and Alex were right.

Right.

The mission. This one was important, and I needed to stay focused. Maybe that sweet omega ass could be mine as a reward for a mission well done. I would force myself to complete the mission before I even asked about the succulent omega I’d smelled.

I clicked my mouse to go to the next page of the file. Javier Mendez was the leader of the Serpentes Brancas, and our mission was to take him out.

Serpentes Brancas, or White Snakes Cartel, were one of the largest suppliers of heroin and black-market hormone drugs the nation had ever had to contend with. We were going to cut the snake off at the head by capturing Javier Mendez and bringing him home to face federal charges.

The White Snakes had been overlooked by the government up to that point. They’d been a nuisance, sure, but the powers that be had refused to use up resources on them. That was until recent times. The White Snakes Cartel had gotten bolder and more violet. Hormone suppressing drugs had been approved by the federal government for omega usage, and that had put a damper on the WS drug trade. So they’d begun using terrorist tactics to destroy the competition.

Two pharmaceutical CEOs had been kidnapped and one of them didn’t make it. A factory that the WS Cartel believed manufactured the hormone suppressants had been burned to the ground, but that factory hadn’t made the hormone drugs. Instead, it was the only location in the country that made a particular drug for newborns whose lungs weren’t fully developed. Hundreds of babies had died while Brekard Pharmaceuticals tried to restock their supply of the drug.

While I was reading the rest of the file, I caught the scent again. It was as if I’d been right next to the omega and they had left a trace of themselves on me. The only person I’d been that close to that entire day was Aden.

I hated to admit it, but I wished he was an omega. Sure, Aden and I could have some dirty Alpha on Alpha fun, but it wasn’t the same.

What I wanted was to watch him pull his pants down over that muscular bubble butt. If he was an omega, he could be in heat only for me. I’d watch him bare his ass to me and beg me to knot him.

I could only imagine what it would feel like to slide myself deep inside of him. I groaned at the thought of his hot slick grasping at my length while I reached around and stroked his cock. It would be so good. The thought alone was almost too much.

In my mind, I could see myself biting the bond spot on Aden’s neck. It would go so far beyond fucking. I’d knot him and make him mine. I could fill his heat with my seed and then hold him while it took. I wondered if he’d smell as salty-sweet when I took him as he did in the gym. The man was like salted caramel, and I needed a little dessert.

My erection strained painfully against my uniform pants, and I needed some relief fast. I was about to reach into them and tug myself off when my computer dinged.

“Dammit.” I muttered.

The meeting on the new mission was about to begin. I hoped that I wouldn’t pick up the scent of that omega again because if I did, I’d probably come in my pants. There was no time for relief; I just had to limp off to the conference room and hope that no one noticed the rock-hard bulge in my pants. I figured a trip to the restroom to splash cold water on my face would help too.

I stood in the bathroom and took a few deep breaths. It was essential to my men that I pull myself together. I was an Alpha, after all, and going omega crazy wasn’t conduct becoming an officer.

A few seconds of looking in the mirror and I could see my Alpha father’s face in my reflection. That gave me strength. I believed that he was still somewhere out there, and I wasn’t about to let him down. I blinked, and I could see my omega father’s eyes. They were soft, loving, and I knew there was nothing in the world I could ever do to let him down. My Alpha dad was the epitome of strength, and my omega dad was the pinnacle of gentle kindness. I just hoped that I could be both. Though the gentle kindness needed some work.

“I’ll make you proud.” I wished that I could tell them to their faces, but I’d have to settle for the next lifetime.

After a minute, I felt calm and centered. I was ready for my meeting. I was even more ready for the mission.
