Omega On Tap: A Non Shifter Alpha Omega MPreg Romance (Oak Grove Book 1) by Aria Grace, Lorelei M. Hart (10)

Kaden

“Sooooo good.” I shoved another mouthful of my pancake yumminess into my mouth. I’d been worried that when we got to the talking part of things, we’d discover we had nothing to say. Well, I’d been worried about a lot of things, but that was the one filling my head after the fresh air hit me as I exited the car.

The intoxicating scent that was all Mitch.

But as we waited for our food, the conversation flowed as if we’d known each other forever. Not that the lust had settled down. My damn cock hated me for wearing jeans as it pressed against the zipper.

“It is. The hamburgers are amazing as well. They make one with cream cheese and olives in the middle that is to die for.”

I had to take his word on that one.

“Do you need to be back at any specific time?” His voice deepened slightly, and not one person witnessing would have been able to miss the unspoken question in his seemingly straightforward words: Do you have time to get naked?

Yeah, he was as close to losing his pants as I was, and fuck if that didn’t just do it for me. I took a sip of my coffee—not to be coy but to buy me a second to think. I wanted to shout, “Yes, take me home or to the car or the back alley—anywhere as long as it ends with you filling me with your knot.” But I needed a minute to decide if I did have anything to get back to.

In the end, I did what every other awkward loser does and pulled out my phone to check my schedule. His eyes were glued to me the entire time with an expression I couldn’t quite read.

“It’s okay,” he finally said as I tried and fumbled to open my calendar app.

“What is?”

“You don’t need to find an excuse.” His words weren’t harsh or even self deprecating as they would’ve been if I’d said them. No, he was just offering me an out—an out I definitely didn’t want.

“Yeah, that is very much not what I was trying to do.” I closed my eyes, shaking my head slightly. “Being here, surrounded by your scent and watching your sexy eyes as they look at me as if I matter, has me not thinking clearly. At least not with my upper brain.” I pointed to my head. “My lower brain seems to be thinking quite nicely and all about the same thing.”

Relief filled his eyes. Had he really thought I would...or even could...not want him? No, there was something about the man that had all of my attention, and miraculously, he wanted said attention.

“Good.” His hand covered mine, the phone still in its clutches. “We don’t need to rush things.”

It was a little late for that since I already had the feel of him filling me so completely etched in my brain. But I appreciated the sentiment. It hinted at him wanting more than the sexual compatibility we already knew was strong between us. I was officially smiling like a little kid who had been handed a birthday gift.

“I was just making sure I didn’t have a meeting I was going to miss before I shouted yes and then had to take it back.”

He dropped my hand and pointed to the phone. “Best check then, because once you shout yes, I am going to throw you over my shoulder all caveman style.” His tone was teasing, but the look in his eyes said he liked the idea of doing exactly that. And shit—so did I.

I swallowed deeply, my eyes glued to his lips until he picked up his phone and handed it to me. “Oh yeah, looking for my schedule.” I unlocked my phone with the intention of checking my calendar but found a message from my brother. “Shit. I gotta check this.”

Are you dead?

No. Eating.

I got a call and need to leave again. Can you hurry back?

“Fuck. My brother needs me.” I didn’t even pretend to hide my disappointment. I was officially “that guy.”

“I can drive you.” He slid out of the booth, holding his hand out to me after dropping some money on the table.

We walked out hand in hand as my phone vibrated in my pocket.

“Hmmm, do you have something in your front pocket for me?” Mitch teased as we reached the door.

“I didn’t tell my brother I was on my way. He probably thinks I’m ignoring him.” I shrugged my shoulders, not worried about the phone because I was needing to taste Mitch’s lips.

“Should you do that?” He leaned in closer, his breath dancing on my neck.

“I’ll do it in the car.” I went to lean in and hesitated mid movement. It must’ve given Mitch enough of a hint as to what I wanted because his lips crashed into mine in a kiss that held all the heat and frustration that had been building up between us since he walked into the brewery.

His body pressed my back against the car, his cock grinding into mine.

Too. Much. Clothing.

Lips, teeth, tongues, and scent enveloped us. It was too much yet, at the same time, not enough.

And then the fucking phone went off again—our nether regions vibrating along with it and inadvertently breaking our kiss.

“I need to get you back. I didn’t even ask if it was an emergency. I was a bit preoccupied with other thoughts.”

Fucking adorable.

I slid my hand into my pockets as he took a step back and retrieved my phone to send our usual “where the fuck are you” text message.

Marco Marco Marco Marco Marco Marco Marco Marco

“My guess is it’s not an emergency since he thought it was a fine time to play Marco Polo. Asshat,” I grumbled as I got into the car.

We drove in silence the short distance back, and I made an awkward goodbye as I raced out of the car to see what my brother’s damage was. It wasn’t until I reached my brother’s office door that I realized I’d neglected to even thank Mitch for lunch.

No wonder I was perpetually single.
