Omega's Claim: An M/M Shifter MPreg Romance (Foxes of Scarlet Peak) by Aspen Grey (14)

Red

Casper seemed to be adjusting well to life at the cabin. He’d met most of the wolves down the hill as well, and everyone had taken to him. Martin, a wolf with exceptional fashion sense, had volunteered to take him to Boston to go shopping someday, they just had to find a good time for everyone. But Casper was pretty content to just hang around for now. It seemed like he was feeling the same thing I had felt when I first settled in here – home.

For both of us being orphans, home was something foreign to us. The closest thing we’d had when we were young was Mrs. Brown’s, but that wasn’t ideal. Living at the cabin was like having one enormous extended family, and so many of us had come from broken families or hard times, that there was never an end to the stories.

Mikey had warmed up to Casper considerably, and had countless stories from living in Los Angeles. He had been reunited with his daughter, Daphne, who’d run away for a few years because Mikey wasn’t living well, and I think the pain in his life made him very able to commiserate and be a good shoulder to cry on if ever needed. It was stupid of me, but I found myself being slightly jealous sometimes when they spent time together. Not enough to get upset, of course, but I was feeling a bit territorial and seeing as it was our two-week anniversary of having reunited, I thought I’d do something special for him that evening.

“Did you get them?” I whispered to Osana as we stood outside on the back porch. I was peering in through the windows to make sure Casper wasn’t paying attention. He wasn’t. Tate and his mate, Kyle, had come up to the lodge for a visit, and they were sitting with Kitchi around the fire talking.

“I did!” Osana said with glee. “I wasn’t sure if you’d want more than this, so I just went ahead and got two dozen of each.”

“Thank you, Osana,” I smiled, taking the four dozen red and white roses from her.

“I also got you this,” she said with a naughty grin as she held up a small bottle. “Body chocolate. If you wanted to get a little crazy.”

I gave her a scolding glance, but she knew I was only kidding and slid the bottle into my pocket. “I hope you two have a good time.”

She opened the door and I slid in behind her, using her to shield myself from view before ducking into the hallway and back into our bedroom. It was getting late, but I still had time to get ready before Casper would be coming in.

I set a bouquet of red roses beside the bed in a vase, and another dozen of the white on the other side. Then, I unbound the other two dozen and spread them across the floor leading up to the bed, some still with their stems and some just the petals.

I’d picked up a few unscented candles, because I still wanted to be able to smell the delicious scent of my mate, and lit them and placed them on the dresser. The flickering light already had me feeling romantic, and I couldn’t wait for Casper to arrive.

A two-week anniversary was silly, and I knew that, but I couldn’t help myself. Maybe I should have felt guarded after being alone for so many years, but I didn’t want to put up any walls around myself. Casper was the one for me, and I knew that, and I wasn’t going to waste any time making sure he knew that.

I cracked the door and peered out into the hallway as Tate and Kyle were getting to their feet.

“Come down sometime this week,” Tate was saying.

“We will,” Kitchi replied.

“It was so nice to see you guys,” Casper told them. “And thanks for the apple pie!”

Kyle must have made an apple pie again. He was a wizard in the kitchen, and had recently begun making desserts at a pace that the whole mountain could barely keep up with. But that didn’t stop him.

The gardens had been plentiful last year, and the wolves had actually begun growing an enormous patch of Maine blueberries, which Kyle and Osana had turned into jams, jellies and all kinds of things. They’d also gone apple picking and canned several pounds of them, which must have been what he had used for his most recent pie.

Come on, I thought to myself. Leave already!

I was horny as all Hell, and feeling romantic on top of it, which was a dangerous combination. I’d actually been horny all day, but Casper and I hadn’t had a chance to get together so I could have some relief. All that energy had been pent up and I was dying to have a release.

Finally, Kyle and Tate walked to the door and said goodnight. Casper closed it behind them and nodded to Kitchi.

“I guess I’ll head to bed,” he said. “See you tomorrow.”

“Good night,” Kitchi said.

“Good night.”

Casper turned toward the hall and I quickly closed the door and lay back on the bed. I could hear his footsteps as he came toward the bedroom and as he pulled the door open, his scent drifted in and I inhaled deeply.

“Hey, babe—”

His voice stopped when he saw what I’d done for him. His eyes moved from the petals on the floor, to the vases and then to the candles, and then finally to me.

“What’s all this?” he smiled.

“This,” I said, rising and walking over to my beautiful omega. “Is our two-week anniversary.”

“Two-week?” Casper laughed as I pulled his shirt off over his head.

“That’s right,” I told him, sliding a hand into his waistband and cupping his cock. He gasped and closed his eyes, tilting his head back to the ceiling. I kissed the top of his chest, moving up his neck until I reached his lips. “After ten years without you, even a minute together is something to celebrate.”

“Take me, Red,” Casper told me, his cock growing in my hand. “I am yours. I’ve always been yours!”
