SETH (Hell's Lovers MC, #5) by Crimson Syn (1)

Prologue

Washington...

“I told you not to leave without telling me?” I took a step closer, invading her space and bringing my face level to hers.

She tried to take a step back, but I cornered her against the kitchen counter. She pressed a hand to my chest and electricity shot through my body. I wanted this woman, and I wanted her badly.

“I refuse to bring a bodyguard with me every time I need to get formula for the baby!”

I stared back at her, holding her angry glare. I felt her angry little puffs of air flutter against my lips, and it took everything in me not to close the space between us. She smelled like spring rain, looked like an angel, and fought me at every turn. She was the sweetest thing I’d ever laid eyes on and I had this strange urge to cover her with my kisses. Scowling, she shoved me backwards and quickly turned her back to me. Her tight, curvy ass, swayed back and forth as she put away groceries.

In my life, have I ever met a woman so infuriatingly enticing as Ciara Morton. I wanted to bend her over the kitchen counter, sink my cock deep inside her, and spank her for talking back to me-all while making her moan my name. Living with a sexy firecracker was going to send me to the crazy house, fast. Two months without any pussy had my cock desperate for some action, especially when living in close perimeters to the sexiest woman I’d ever met.

She was young, twenty-one, and fucking beautiful. All plush and soft, all woman. She had this long wavy brown hair that smelled like a fucking spring day every time she swept past me. And her eyes were like pools of golden sunlight. I swear, I needed to get the fuck out of this cabin and away from this girl before I lost my cool. As soon as I met her, I knew she was going to be trouble. She didn’t like to be confined for too long, then again, she didn’t really have to be. I just wanted to keep her close.

She was Greg Marlowe’s youngest granddaughter. Scarlett and Rahyne had gotten along with her instantly and they quickly offered her the nanny job. It had been a good idea at the time. It was easier for her to go into town without being questioned or looking like a stranger. Her grandfather Greg was a good man, ex-Marine, sharp, and he worked day and night to make sure we were all safe. Which is why it pissed me off that Ciara wouldn’t fucking listen.

I tugged at my hair and pinched my nose. “It’s not about what you want, Ciara! You’re putting the family at risk! Wolf Chase’s family, or did you forget why we’re here!”

She stopped what she was doing and stared back at me. “Why don’t you go make your rounds and stop bothering me.”

My eyes widened in mostly anger. “You’re refusing to obey Wolf’s orders!” I yelled, my voice raising little by little.

She continued to put groceries away, completely ignoring me. “I don’t live by military command, Seth Scardino. Never have, never will.”

“What the fuck is that supposed to mean?”

She turned to me then, placing a delicate hand along the dip where her waist met her hip. She looked slightly annoyed, but her eyes were all wide-eyed and innocent. Her poise made those voluptuous tits of hers press up against the thin fabric of her tank top. The zipper on my hoodie was opened just enough for me to get a glimpse of deep plunging cleavage.

Why the fuck was she wearing my hoodie and why did she look so fucking good in it? God damn, this woman could drive a man to his knees!

“It means that if you forget the formula, I go out and get it myself.”

“Goddammit!” I banged my hand on the kitchen table in frustration.

“What the hell is going on in here?” Scarlett, the Prez’s wife, walked in holding a crying infant and looking seriously pissed off.

“You woke up the baby!” Sure enough, as if on cue, Ryder Stone began to cry.

Ciara had the audacity to give me a pointed look before turning to Scarlett. “I’m so very sorry, Scarlett. I’ll put her back to bed for you.”

She grabbed Ryder from her mother’s embrace, and as she walked away she narrowed her eyes on me. The baby hiccuped and then as if nothing, she turned to coo at the pink cheeked baby girl.

The woman was bat shit crazy! Yet as I watched her soft curves flow down the hallway, I couldn’t help but wonder how she’d feel beneath me as I drove myself deep inside of her.

“Seth. Seth! Earth to Seth!”

I blinked as Scarlett waved a hand in my face. I snapped out of my dirty babysitter fantasies and focused on the angry woman before me.

“Yes, ma’am.”

“Don’t you ma’am me,” she sighed. “I think we’re all getting overwhelmed and feeling a little cabin feverish. I need to talk to my husband.”

“I’m sorry Scarlett, but he told me to contact him only if it was an emergency.”

She grimaced and placed a hand on either hip. “This is an emergency. His wife and baby need him.”

“Ma’am…”

She looked at me angrily. “You call me ma’am one more time…”

We stared at each other for a moment and then I gave in. I always gave in with Scarlett Chase. She had this way of manipulating nearly anyone who got near her into doing what she wanted. I wish I could get mad at her, but she had become such a mother figure that I couldn’t help but do her bidding.

“Fine. I’ll call him.”

She came up to me and lowered her voice, taking it to a soft threatening whisper. “Tell my dear, sweet husband, that if he doesn’t get me the fuck out of here I’ll run away and he’ll never see me again.”

“Scarlett, I’m not…” she raised a hand, stopping me from saying another word.

“Also, tell him Rahyne cries every night for Grayson. She needs her husband. This is ridiculous!”

I nodded. “I’ll do my best.”

She rolled her eyes and shook her head. “Just, go.”

I headed out to the CB Radio in the shack out back. It was the perfect way to communicate to Ravenous without being tracked. Wolf was going to be pissed, but at least he didn’t have to live with the wrath of two women on his back.

A half hour later, Wolf was yelling at me through the radio.

“I left you one task, Scardino! One task!”

“I understand, Prez, but your wife will not take no for an answer.”

“Goddammit!”

I waited patiently for his angry ramblings to end and then there was the unequivocal sigh of resignation. Something every brother was prone to doing when around Scarlett, or even Rahyne for that matter. My breath caught as I waited for the verdict.

“Fine. I’ll send Diesel to go get you.”

I let out a breath and I couldn’t have been happier. Finally, after two long months, we were going home.

I ran into the kitchen, startling Ciara who was sitting at the kitchen table, a book on her lap. She pushed her kitty cat glasses, which made her look like a sexy school teacher, up her nose and stared up at me. She was always stuck in a corner somewhere lost in her books. It was actually something I liked about her. She was not only gorgeous and acted like she didn’t know it, but she was also smart as fuck.

“What’s your problem? You’re going to wake up the baby again.”

“I don’t give a shit! We’re going home!”

She stood up in shock. “What?”

I heard feet stumbling down the stairs and Scarlett, with a very pregnant Rahyne standing behind her, stared back at me expectantly.

“We’re going home,” I whispered.

The girls rejoiced, hugging and holding hands. I’ve never seen happier females before in my life. Rahyne suddenly pulled Ciara into her embrace.

“You’re coming, right? You promised me you’d come.”

Ciara looked at me for a moment, and I found myself waiting earnestly for her answer. She gazed from one woman to the other and then finally nodded. “Yes. I’m coming with you.”

For some strange reason, I let out the breath I was holding. I couldn’t believe it, but I was actually happy that she was coming back to California with us. I would never admit it, but I wasn’t ready to let the sexy little thing go. If she was far away from her dear old grandfather then maybe, just maybe, I could have my way with her like I’d been dreaming about, every night since I met her. Jacking off for two months to an image of a woman who sleeps next door, but is off limits, just wears a man down.

I smirked inwardly. Who was I fucking kidding? I couldn’t wait to get back to Ravenous and get my cock wet in one of those deliciously used pussies that treated me so well. All I needed was to fuck, whether it was Ciara or some sex kitten that wandered into the club, it was all the same to me.

As I watched her smile, something strange stirred in my chest. It was a weird feeling that kept creeping up on me from time to time. It was always unexpected. Sometimes all she had to do was look at me and there it was. An unfamiliar fuzzy feeling I wanted to get the fuck away from, fast. I’d been stuck in this weird makeshift harem for fuck too long. It was time to go home.
