Space Dog (Romance on the Go Book 0) by Melissa Hosack (4)

Chapter Four

Natalie could feel the energy coming off of Rory. It hit her skin like an electric jolt. He needed to calm down. For the sake of their mission, he needed to get himself under control. Even though he’d pushed back the shift, the power still rode him, still demanded release.

She stared up at him, both of them breathing hard against the intensity in the air. Their bodies were inches apart with him trapping her against the wall. If she tried to run, he would catch her. She was certain of it.

She was still trying to come up with an idea of what to do when suddenly he was kissing her. It wasn’t like anything she’d ever experienced before. Rory didn’t just kiss her. He mauled her, his body practically screaming dominance with the way his mouth molded against hers.

His hand gripped the hair at the base of her neck, forcing her face up to his. She gasped into his mouth, startled at the sudden change in the atmosphere. She was far from disappointed with it though. It took her half a second to give in to his persistent kiss. With a soft whimper, she opened up to him, responding with equal force.

Rory growled—he freaking growled like a wild beast—and slammed her back against the wall. She hit with enough force to rattle her teeth, but she didn’t mind this either. She wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her fingers in his thick hair. Shit, she loved his hair.

When he grabbed her hips and lifted, she didn’t need to be told what he wanted. She wrapped her legs around his waist and held on tight.

It was a good thing, too, because a moment later, he slammed her up against the wall again. The whole while, his mouth never left hers. He continued to kiss her as if she was the only thing keeping the monster at bay, and maybe she was. Deep down, she knew she was.

Running her fingers through his hair, she whispered into his mouth. “It’s okay. Rory, it’s okay.” And it was. She didn’t know where this encounter would lead them or what it meant for the future of their trip, but she knew he needed something to funnel his energy into. She didn’t mind being the recipient of it. Not at all.

“I’m … sorry.” The words escaped him, sounding almost pained. She understood he felt guilty. They barely knew each other. They’d kept a polite, professional distance. And now he had her backed against the wall.

“Don’t be.”

That seemed to be all the encouragement he needed. He kissed her again, his mouth hard and demanding. Gone was the laidback, easy-going version of himself. This Rory was a different man. Stronger. Fiercer. This Rory took what he wanted, and at the moment, that included her.

With one hand, he fumbled with the buttons of her shirt, tearing at them with trembling fingers. He finally tore it away from her body the moment he got each button free and tossed it behind him to the floor.

She mirrored his actions, tugging roughly at his shirt to peel it away. Underneath lay tan, smooth skin. She ran her fingers along his chest, letting her fingertips trail over his muscled abdomen. The skin on skin contact sent tingles down her spine. She wanted this man, wanted him more than she’d ever wanted any other man before. She could feel his erection straining against the fabric of his pants. With a soft moan, she reached between them and grabbed him, squeezing.

Rory gave a snarl and grabbed her hand. Yanking it away from his crotch, he pinned it above her head against the wall. “No,” he growled into her mouth.

She tugged against his grip, but only for the rush of enjoyment she got when he didn’t budge. She understood why he’d quickly removed her hand. His entire body was on high alert and sensitive. Any little thing could throw him over the edge. It was best to let him remain in control. It was just safer that way.

Besides, it wasn’t as if his actions weren’t enjoyable. He was handling things quite well on his own. And as if to prove this point, he took the opportunity to grind his erection against her. His hips bumped against hers, pushing her back harder into the wall.

Natalie giggled, unable to help herself, but when he ground his hips against her again, her sounds turned to a soft whimper. She raked her hands through his hair, loving the feel of the soft strands. She’d always imagined they would by silky to the touch, and she wasn’t disappointed. “You’re so hot.”

Rory chuckled and lifted his head enough so he could look her in the eyes. His once pale blue irises had darkened to an almost indigo color. “Shouldn’t I be the one saying that to you?”

She snorted and shook her head. “Awkward, I would believe. Hot? Not so much.”

“You are hot,” Rory countered. “I’ve always thought so. It was just inappropriate for me to voice as much before. We worked together.” He lowered his nose to her throat and nuzzled against the flesh. “I think we’re beyond social niceties now.”

As he tugged at her slacks, she had to agree they were way beyond societal norms. The supernatural had thrown a curveball at them, and they had no choice but to go with it. She squirmed out of her pants, letting them hit the floor as the two of them managed to get the garment free.

She then yanked at his zipper. Somehow they managed to get his slacks and briefs down around his ankles. She had a moment to ask herself if they were really about to do this when suddenly he slammed deep inside of her. She hit the wall again with a cry of pleasure. Shit, they were going to do this. Right here. Right now. Against the wall of a rocket ship. If this didn’t deserve a checkbox on her bucket list, she didn’t know what did.

She let her head fall back and rest against the wall as Rory pulled back ever so slowly. She felt her panties bunched up against the side of her leg. He must have just slid them out of the way. They were quickly forgotten as he slammed home once again.

Natalie let out a sound of pure pleasure as he moved inside of her, slamming her back against the wall with every deep, hard thrust. It had been quite a few months since she’d had sex, and even longer still since she’d had good sex, but she didn’t remember anything ever comparing to this. Nothing had ever been this intense, this passionate. Then again, she’d never had sex with a man on the verge of turning into a werewolf before, either. It almost wasn’t fair to make comparisons.

He continued fucking her against the wall, her backside slamming repeatedly into the hard metal at her back. She wrapped her legs around his waist and held on tightly around his neck. Each thrust drove her higher, had her panting. She could feel herself drawing closer and closer to what was going to be one hell of an orgasm. She bit his lip, whimpering nonsensical words of encouragement into his mouth.

But then Rory suddenly pulled away from the wall. “Not here,” he said raggedly. He pulled back with a raspy pant that told her just how hard it had been for him to stop himself. With careful steps, he made his way toward his tiny bedroom, keeping their bodies joined together the entire journey.

Once there, he plopped down to sit on his bed with her straddling his lap. Natalie kept her arms wrapped tightly around his neck as she stared into his eyes. She felt like she could gaze down into his soul, as if she could see the beast under the surface. It was more intimate than she ever remembered things being with a man. She’d dated someone for two years before, and she’d never felt like she knew him the way she understood Rory in this moment. It was a deeper connection than anything she’d ever felt. Something inside of him called to her in a way she couldn’t deny. It was animalistic. Her body understood it in a way her mind was still trying to catch up with.

She never broke eye contact as she began to rock on his lap. She moved slowly, taking him as deeply into her body as the position would allow. Each time their bodies came fully together, she paused for a brief second, allowing him to feel each little sensation.

Rory groaned and closed his eyes. He swallowed thickly, and she watched the way his Adam’s apple bobbed in his throat. It was one of the most erotic things she’d ever seen. Knowing she was having such an effect on a man who was normally so cool and composed gave her a little rush.

Leaning forward, she nipped at his throat. He looked so unbelievably sexy with his eyes closed, head tilted. He was supporting them both with his arms, lounging back just enough to give her a view of his amazing body. She draped herself against his chest, loving the feeling of his skin against hers.

Obviously wanting more, Rory lifted a hand to balance on just one arm and, with skilled fingers, unsnapped the hooks of her bra. He tugged it away before pulling her in tight against his chest again. He groaned at once more having her bare flesh against his own. “You are so damn soft.”

“Thanks. Soft skin is quite the challenge for someone who’s so hardheaded and stubborn.”

Rory sucked in a sharp breath and pulled back to look at her. “I called you that once. In a meeting,” he said, sounding guilty.

She snickered and bobbed her head. “You did. But don’t worry, I took it as a compliment.” She shrugged a shoulder. “Without us stubborn people, we’d still be living in a world where aliens didn’t exist.” She pursed her lips playfully. “For that matter, neither would werewolves.”

He gave a playful growl and arched up underneath her. “Not funny.”

Natalie giggled and held on tightly to his neck. “You have to admit, it’s kind of exciting. We’re discovering uncharted territory.”

Rory grabbed her tightly around the waist and rolled. He placed her underneath of him and slowly rocked his hips forward to bury himself as deeply inside of her as he could get. “I find this exciting. This is discovering uncharted territory.”

She moaned, writhing against the sheets. He sure knew how to make a compelling argument. “I find this exciting as well.” A thought occurred to her and she lifted her head to mock glare at him. “Hey, what do you mean by ‘uncharted territory’?”

Rory chuckled deep in his throat as he braced his arms on either side of her head, making a cocoon around them. “Why did we never do this before?” He whispered the words against her lips, grazing their mouths together. “This is so good.” He rocked his hips again, driving his pelvis against her clit.

Natalie hissed, then let out an embarrassing whimper of pure pleasure. It was a good question. Why hadn’t they done this before? Well, that was simple. They’d been too different, too professionally detached. Him spontaneously turning into a werewolf had forced them to break down their walls. It was something she didn’t often do with others, but she was glad she’d been forced to make an exception.

Rory pulled out and slowly eased into her once more, taking his time to allow her to feel every sensation. And she did feel it. All the way down to her toes.

She tangled her fingers in his hair, nipping at his lips in encouragement.

He seemed to take the hint, because his thrusts grew a little swifter, a little rougher each time. Before long, he was using enough force to shake the entire bed. With a growl, he gripped her thighs and buried his fingers into the flesh as he pounded into her.

Natalie gripped his backside, taking him as deeply inside her as she could. The joking of minutes before was gone as they both zeroed in on what they truly desired—completion. Her nipples tingled from his chest grazing across them. Her clit throbbed. Every inch of her was attuned to him.

And then she was flying over the edge. She cried out her pleasure into his shoulder, clinging desperately to him as he found his own release. Her orgasm seemed to stretch on forever.

When she was finally able to move again, her muscles gradually relaxed. She could feel his doing the same above her. Slowly, he slumped down, his body draped atop hers. “Natalie…” He couldn’t seem to form any more words.

She felt the tension ease out of him, and along with it, the urge to shift form. As he calmed, she felt him drifting into sleep. Knowing what kind of stress this day had to have put on his mind and body, she didn’t take offense. He needed sleep. His body needed to recharge. She knew they could talk in the morning—it wasn’t as if either of them could run very far—so she held him as he drifted off to sleep. Whatever needed to be said they could worry about after they’d gotten some rest.
