Stealing Destiny (The Caribbean Rivalry Book 2) by M.K. MOORE (3)

Chapter Three

Ivan

I spring into action, jumping off the bed, grabbing my robe and bundling her in it.

“We have a state-of-the-art medical bay. I'll bring you down there.”

“Yeah. I'm gonna need some industrial strength Benadryl.”

I feel useless and I don't like it.

I lift her up and carry her bridal style to the elevator.

“What are you allergic too?”

“Everything.” She laughs.

“That narrows it down.” I say as the elevator descends to the 2nd floor.

“It could be anything, really.”

“Are you in pain?” I ask. Her very red hand touches my cheek.

“A little. It itches like crazy. Don't worry, Ivan. This happens all the time.”

This girl has become my oxygen. She is amazing. Comforting me when she is in pain.

I am practically running from the elevator to the medical area.

“Ivan. Ivan. Calm down please. I can walk. Believe me, this happens a lot. I even have an epi-pen for my when throat closes.”

“What? It can get that bad?” Her face hardens.

“I know you didn't sign up for this. No harm done. Just get me my own room and I will wait for Marisol to be done.”

I am not handling this well at all.

“Princess, there is nothing that I don't like about you. It kills me that you are in pain, that you deal with this on daily basis and I cannot do a damn thing about it.”

“You are sweet, Ivan. But you get used to it. It really isn’t that big of a deal.”

I don’t see how it couldn’t be, but Dr. Hanover comes up to us. Thank God he is sixty-five and happily married. I didn’t think about her not being properly dressed before coming down here.

“What seems to be the trouble, Mr. Dobrev?”

“My girlfriend is having some kind of allergic reaction to something.”

Girlfriend. God, I sound like a kid, but she is smiling. When she places her hand in mine, I know she is okay with that label.

“Well, I can see that, son. Ms?”

“Walker, but you can call me Destiny,” she says, grinning at him. Suddenly, I am jealous of an old man. I want all of her smiles. She opens her robe, showing him her back. He snaps some latex gloves on and prods around one of the spots.

“Alright, Destiny. This looks like a run-of-the-mill skin reaction. I take it you’ve had these kinds of reactions before.”

“Yeah. How did you know?”

“For starters, you aren’t freaking out like Ivan over there.”  Her laughter peels out of her.

God, how I love her laugh.

“There is that,” she finally says.

“I am going to give you a shot of antihistamine and a cream to dull this down.”

“Sounds good,” she says, pulling her robe back up.

Once we are finished with the doctor, I lead her back to my penthouse.

“Are you hungry?” I ask.

“Yes. I am starving.”

“Tell me what you’d like, and I’ll order it up from room service.”

“A hamburger, medium rare, with lots of fries. Oh, and ketchup. Lots and lots of ketchup.”

“Sounds good.” I call down and order two.

She is laying on the couch, covered up.

“It should only be about fifteen minutes.” I say, sitting at the opposite end of the couch. She puts her feet in my lap, so I start rubbing them. The bottoms of her little feet even have red splotches on them. “Poor baby.” I say. I have the cream the doc gave me, so I take it out of my pants pocket, dabbing it on my hands and rubbing it into her skin.  It's the first time I realize that I didn't have a shirt on when we ran out of here.

“I didn't like other women staring at you.” She says quietly.

“What other women? I saw only you.”

“The thirty or so we saw there and back we're eying you like I wasn't even there.” Her little pout is sexy as fuck.

“I really didn't even notice them. You are all I see.”

“That's a really good answer.” She says smiling. “It had to be the body wash. I didn't put lotion on my back or the bottoms of my feet. I didn't think to check, but I'm allergic to parabens. I use a special oatmeal body wash. I order it from Lush. I brought the bit I have left. Can I get mail here?”

“What do you mean?”

“I assume you live here full time. Since I am pretty sure I'm never leaving without you, I need to be able to get mail.”

This girl. Fuck. She manages to surprise me every time.

“Of course, you can get mail here. I thought I would have to convince you to stay with me.” She shrugs.

“Why fight it or play games? There is something between us. Something strong and we haven't even had sex yet.”

The way she talks makes me think about seventy years in the future. Great-grandchildren all around us. Listening to the story of how I “kidnapped” their babushka.

“The file didn't say anything about life threatening allergies. It mentioned Journey but not that.”

“File? What file?” She asks.

“The one I got from the private investigator I had trailing you.”

“Wow. I don't know what to say. I feel violated, but in a good way.”

I laugh. “If it makes you feel any better, I didn't want him to take pictures of you. I didn't want him getting close to you. The info was very basic. He probably pulled it from Facebook. Asshole. It was expensive to not have the most important details.”

“Yeah. You got hosed.” She says in moan as a I massage the arches of her feet. “Oh God. That feels good. Like so good. Amazing.” I feel like a bastard for getting hard while she doesn't feel well.

When my eyes find hers, I can tell she knows exactly what she is doing.

“I will not fuck you until you are back to one hundred percent, Princess. Focus on getting better.”

“You are mean.” She says as the elevator chimes. Without the key, it has to be opened from inside the suite. When I open it, I am surprised to see Stacia on the other side. Wearing a red silky robe. She steps into room, causing the elevator to close.

“What do you want, Stacia?”

I have never even spoken to this woman off the plane. Now twice in one day, she is inappropriate as fuck.

“I thought I would see if there was anything else I can do to please you?” She says, going to open the robe.

“Baby, is it the room service? I'm starving. You really made me work up an appetite.” Destiny says as she slides her arm around my waist.

Stacia sputters, before saying, “what the fuck is this little girl doing here?”

“I'm no little girl, and I'll be the only one pleasing this man.”

The elevator buzzes again, and I push the button.

“Mr. Dobrev, your room service.” He looks between Stacia and Destiny, both in robes, with a shocked expression. “Should I come back?”

“No, Stacia was just leaving. I will be speaking with you and your supervisor in the morning.”

“Yes sir.” She says nicely, but the outrage on her face is evident. She backs into the elevator. I tip the bellhop and once he is in the elevator, I send it on its way.

“I am sorry about that.” I say.

“Don’t be. Like I said, I can handle myself. Did you see the look on her face when she saw me? Priceless.” She says laughing.

“I still don’t like it.” I say.

She smiles at me and starts to walk away. I grab her arm gently and pull her into my arms. I slam my lips down on hers. She moans, and I deepen the kiss.

“Come. We should eat. It’s been a long day.” I say after I finally end the kiss.
