The Art of Seduction by Annie Harland Creek (7)

Chapter Seven

Meaghan responded to the knock at her door

“Come in, David,” she called as she continued to place her belongings into the suitcases.

“There’s no need for you to go,” he told her. “I promise that from now on, I will confine my nudity to the campus classroom.”

She turned to look at him and felt slightly disappointed that he’d changed into a white t-shirt and jeans.

“I don’t think this will work out. Surely there are others who you can choose to mentor, that woman I just ran into for instance.”

“Anna?” David laughed. “I’ve seen her drawings. Her buses look like turtles. Besides, I believe my brother keeps his wife on a pretty tight leash. They are, after all, still on their honeymoon.”

“Oh.” She felt her shoulders relax. Despite her reservations, she was relieved. Why? She stood motionless, staring at him, trying to find the right words to explain how she was feeling but in truth, she didn’t know what she was feeling. Lust? Fear?

“I was disrespectful,” he told her. “I can’t hide the fact that I am attracted to you and I got the impression that you felt the same. I made a stupid mistake and it would be a real shame if you threw away a chance for recognition in the art world just because I came on to you. I promise that in future I’ll keep my hands off you.”

“No.” Meaghan found her voice. “That’s not what I want—”

David raised an eyebrow. “But I—”

“If you’ll let me finish…” Meaghan interrupted. “I don’t think I want you to keep your hands off me,” she confessed.

She lowered her eyes. Her confidence fading. It was now or never. Tell him.

“I think that I want to experience everything you can teach me. But, I am afraid I will disappoint you.”

David’s lips parted slightly. The edges curled into a smile. He slowly approached her but she held out her arm, palm out, to signal to him that she had more to say.

“I don’t understand why I feel this way about you. I’ve only seen you a handful of times and barely know you but, as you said last night, we seem to have an undeniable physical attraction which—to tell you the truth—terrifies me.”

“You’re not the only one who’s terrified, Chérie . This is a new experience for me too.”

Meaghan raised one eyebrow.

“All right, I admit that my playboy reputation is not completely unjustified but this is different. I’m your puppet. You pull at my heart strings and there is nothing I can do to stop the physical urges I get whenever I see you.” He pulled her into his arms and kissed her, gently at first but once she became pliant in his arms, he cupped the back of her head and deepened the kiss.

When he reached down to lift her, cupping her bottom with his large hands, she facilitated him by wrapping her legs around his waist. He moved closer to the bed, bending his knees as he gently lowered her onto the thick quilt. When he lifted her thin cotton dress up to her hips, positioning himself so his jean covered erection rubbed against the crotch of her silk panties, she gasped and stiffened in his arms. He shook his head.

“I just want to be close to you, no more than that for our first lesson. This time we will both keep our pants on.”

He kissed her again and something deep inside her told her to trust him. Her muscles relaxed while he slowly eased his hips up and down between her legs. The crotch of his jeans stimulated her through the thin silk of her panties and her heart pounded hard against the fabric of her bodice. She became aware of the warm, moist sensation spreading over her body, pooling between her legs. When his hands crept over her breasts, her nipples strained against the lacy fabric of her bra. His lips traced the outline of her face, lingering at the junction of her neck and shoulder, his teeth gently nipping at her skin. A shiver of pleasure shook her body. Her hips kept time with his thrusting movements.

A low groan escaped from her lips as she felt her womb clench. Her insides wound tighter and tighter, building to the point where she felt that she might explode from the pleasure. When his fingers eased under the elastic of her panties and dipped into her moist entrance, she gasped. He was not the first male to try this maneuver but he was the first one who she allowed to continue. There was no stopping now. She was past the point of no return. Her body shuddered as a tsunami of pleasure crashed over her, shattering her senses. She moaned her appreciation into his open mouth.

When the room stopped spinning, she broke contact with his lips long enough to tell him, “I guess I’ll be staying.”

He kissed her and rolled onto his back pulling her with him so that she was now on top. She snuggled into his chest and he kissed her forehead.

“That was lesson one,” he informed her. “When you’re able to cope with a naked male model without running from the room, we’ll move onto lesson two.”

“So, lesson two will cover…”

David shook his head and smiled. “No, Chérie . In lesson two, I plan on there being no covering.”

When David finally excused himself for the night and left Meaghan to attend to his family business, she felt a tug at her heart, but reluctantly let him go. She checked her watch. Damn. She was already late getting to the campus. Priorities, Meaghan. Focus on your duty as a cop. After all, finding the killer was the reason she had accepted scholarship. Although … her body still tingled from David’s touch, making it harder to focus. She giggled and bit her bottom lip. David’s kiss was her first real kiss. Sure she’d had other dates over her teenage years and kissing was mandatory after a couple of dates, but those kisses didn’t even compare with what she experienced with David. She shook her head, determined to get on with her work and forced the thoughts out of her mind. Her body, however, would take longer to persuade.

As she suspected, no one lingered after their classes, leaving the campus relatively empty. The murders had frightened most of the students into leaving for their homes immediately after classes. Many had taken to walking to the carpark in pairs for added safety. She doubted that the murderer would strike in the same place again but, as she had to pass the area anyway, she headed towards the art building. No signs of movement around the vicinity. She headed towards the lights of the library and peered through the glass. Three people inside, a librarian and two students. One utilized the photocopier, the other researched information on a computer. Meaghan stepped away from the window and started towards the canteen which was located behind the closed convenience store. The sound of voices made her turn around and she saw two figures moving behind a tree, both too deep in conversation to notice her. She backed into the shadows of the nearest corridor before they had the opportunity to see her.

“Meaghan?”

She recognized David’s voice without turning. Shit! She had to act quickly. She dashed out of the laneway and ran into the nearest building with him close behind but not fast enough. By the time he had rounded the corner, she was gone.
