We ride for a few hours until we’re well out of town, bordering the state line, before Cade pulls off into a motel parking lot. The sun is setting and the place looks like a ghost town. The vacancy sign flickers on and off like the bulb is about to burn out, but it fits the run-down look of the place.

He parks out front of the office and shuts the bike off before throwing over his shoulder, “Wait here while I get us a room.”

Cade hops off the bike and heads inside. I dig my fingers through my blonde curls, trying my best to fix the wind-blown mess I’m sure is on my head. The entire trip here, I’ve been wondering what the hell is going on and why Cade rushed us out of town.

Moments later the office door opens and Cade stalks toward me, studying me as I continue to fuss with my hair.

“What?” I ask when his eyes never leave me.

His gray eyes slide down my body and then back up to my face. “You’re sexy as fuck on the back of my bike. It’s like you were made to be back there.”

Heat instantly floods my cheeks, and he has me blushing like an idiot. “Really?”

“Mmm.” He steps up to me and slips his index finger under my chin, tilting my face up to his. His lips press into mine and his tongue slides into my mouth causing a little moan of pleasure to escape me. Cade pulls back before I’m ready and chuckles. “Let’s take this to our room before I say fuck it and take you right here in this parking lot.”

I grin as the image of having sex with Cade on his bike filters into my mind. “Would that be so terrible?”

“It would be if another man looks at you because I’d be forced to kill him.” My eyes widen and before I can ask if he’s serious, he leans in and bites my bottom lip. “I plan on taking my time with you this round. I’m going to lick every inch of your beautiful body and fuck you ‘til we’re both exhausted and satisfied.”

My heart flutters after hearing his dirty promises of pleasure, and I suddenly can’t wait to lock myself alone in a hotel room with Cade.

Cade hops back onto the bike and fires it up, pulling us around to the back side of the place. He parks and then takes a quick look around before parking and killing the engine. There’s not another car in sight and we’re hidden from the view of the highway.

When he hops off and then extends a hand to help me down I raise an eyebrow, still clueless as to why we’re in the middle of nowhere. “You really wanted to get me all alone, didn’t you?”

He wraps his strong, tattooed arms around my waist and pulls me against him. “You alone, naked, in my bed sounds good right about now.” He grinds his pelvis against me and I can feel the hard length beneath his jeans pushing against my belly. “I’m always horny as hell around you. See what you do to me?”

“That’s not a bad thing. In fact…” My tongue darts out and runs across my top lip as I reach between us and trace the bulge in his pants with the tip of my finger. “I think it’s a very, very good thing.”

Cade cups my face in his hands and crushes his mouth to mine. My fingers thread into his hair and I kiss him back like he’s the air I need to breathe as I cling to him.

When he pulls back I frown, because I’ve not had my fill of him yet, and he chuckles. “Let’s take this inside, where I can strip you down, give you what you need and taste that sweet pussy of yours.”

Warm fingers thread through mine as he leads me toward the worn red door marked room twenty-eight. The key slides into the lock, and he opens the door and pulls me inside with him.

Soft glow of the overhead light illuminates the room when Cade hits the switch. I barely have time to take in the layout of the place before Cade’s mouth is on me again. I giggle as he picks me up and I wrap my legs around his waist.

Cade lays me down on the bed and crawls on top of me. The full weight of his body presses against mine as he devours my mouth and I rock my hips against his, craving relief only he can give me.

“Why are we here?” I question in a soft whisper. “You said back at the diner we had to go somewhere safe. Who are we running from?”

“Your father’s club and mine. My club was coming for you, and I couldn’t let them have you.” Cade swallows hard and pushes back a lock of hair from my face. “You’re mine. Mine to protect. Once my club figures out I took you, they’ll know I’ve fucked them over, and it’s only a matter of time before they come for me. Everything makes sense. It’s not safe anywhere near either one of those clubs for us. Not only will my father be hunting for Cade, but he’ll be out to get me too. I betrayed him by sleeping with a rival club member. It’s one thing he won’t forgive.

A frown etches into my face as it hits me hard that I’ve completely fucked up my quiet little world. Hot tears slick down the sides of my face and land into the hair pooled around my head.

“Together?” I like the way that sounds.

He nods and then kisses me. This kiss is different from all the rest. It’s tender and isn’t rushed. My heart flutters as I close my eyes and relax. Fears melt from my mind and all I care about is being here with Cade.
