Blank Canvas: Diva's Ink by Liberty Parker (9)

Ariel

I can’t help but stare at the bulge he’s got going on. My God he’s huge! I’ve never seen one that big from any of my past partners, hell none of my dildoes hold a candle to his impressive package either! My mouth waters and I can’t wait until the day comes when I get to play with it. He smiles at me obviously knowing what path my thoughts have led me down.

“Another time baby, let’s go get dinner started.”

“Fine,” I whine out. Yes me… Ariel Masters whined! I never whine—ever. And what does that bastard do? He laughs at me! What a cluster fuck my life is turning into, what happened to my little bubble I’ve been living in? It’s burst wide open and I’m not sure how much I like this new development.

We decide to fire up the grill and smoke some chicken and add it to a freshly prepared salad. Chicken salad on a warm day sounds like it will hit the spot perfectly. As he’s grilling I notice Sassy girl is sitting at his feet waiting for any potential scraps to come her way. I laugh and continue on inside the house, I get the head of lettuce out, grab my tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers and cucumbers. I get my chopping knife and cutting board and get to work. It doesn’t take me long to get it together and placed into the fridge. I hear the doorbell ring and walk that way, I look outside the peephole and see a delivery guy of some sort. Dillon walks up behind me.

“Who’s at the door?”

“Some delivery guy.” He steps around me and pulls the door open.

“Can we help you?” He’s standing there with a clipboard and a dozen roses in his hand, causing me to pale. The thought of any type of roses entering my house doesn’t sit right with me. “Is there a card?” I hear Dillon ask.

“Yes, sir,” the kid answers his question. “I need for her to sign for them.”

“I’ll sign for them,” Dillon states, causing the kid to swallow nervously.

“Sorry, sir, it specifically asks for her signature for the delivery.”

“Not happening,” Dillon tells him.

“Dillon, let me sign for them so we can let him go about his job. You can set the flowers on the porch or in the trash, I don’t want them, but I know we need to read this card.”

“I don’t like it,” he growls out in response.

“I don’t either, but I want to get this over with.” I get the clipboard from the kid and sign where he indicates for me to. I look over and see that Dillon is typing away furiously on his phone. Not bothering to attempt to look over his shoulder and see who he’s talking to, I grab the card with the tips of my fingers and place them on only the corner of the card. I tell him to set the roses on the porch and I step inside and shut and lock the door.

I head into the kitchen and grab another baggie to set the card inside. Once it’s safely tucked inside, I let the air out of the bag before I zip it shut. It’s then that I sit down at my kitchen table and read the card.

Roses are red violets are blue, just wanted you to know I’m coming for you.

Won’t be long and we’ll finally be together…forever.

Your future is mine and mine alone.

Forever yours

It’s a good thing I’m sitting down, or my legs would’ve fallen out from underneath me. I feel Dillon come up and stand behind me, instead of making him read the card over my shoulder I just hand the damn thing to him, wanting it out of my hands and out of my sight as soon as I possibly can. I get up and walk to the bathroom, hand over my mouth trying to hold the bile at bay until I reach my destination. As soon as I open the lid to the toilet and hit my knees, I relinquish everything that’s entered my stomach in the last forty-eight hours.

I hear Dillon enter the bathroom, I hear the cabinet open and then the water running. He sits down behind me and pulls my hair back and sets the washcloth over my forehead.

“It’s going to be okay, baby.”

“Go away, Dillon, I don’t want you to see me like this.”

“I’m a doctor remember, I promise I’ve seen a lot of grosser things than vomit, Ariel, you’re not getting rid of me that easily, baby.”

“I don’t want to know,” I tell him unsure if I could handle him telling me anything that could make me regurgitate bile since everything else has been emptied already.

“Wasn’t planning on putting that image in your head, baby.”

“Thank goodness for some miracles,” I say dryly. I’m just in a mood and shouldn’t be around others right now.

“I know you’re crabby, baby, and you can take it out on me all you want, but I’m not going anywhere.”

I stand up, flush the toilet and go to the sink. Grabbing my toothbrush and toothpaste I go about cleaning and refreshing my teeth and breath. I put my stuff up and turn the water off, then dry the water from my face with my towel on the sink from my bath earlier. Dillon grabs my hand and brings me back into the kitchen where the chicken is sitting on the counter already cut up in small chunks. I look at it and don’t think I could stand to put anything into my now empty stomach. Everything looks revolting and unappetizing.

“You have to eat, baby, I know it doesn’t seem appealing right now, but trust me, putting something back in there will help with settling it.”

“Sounds like doctors’ orders to me,” I say, trying to lighten the mood up some.

“Not trying to order you around sweetheart, I’m just a man wanting to help his woman out is all.”

“I know, honey. Thank you, I don’t mean to sound like an ungrateful bitch.”

“You don’t, babe, you sound like someone who’s stressed out—with good reason. Let’s get you fed and we can relax in the living room and throw on a movie.”

“That sounds like the best idea I’ve heard all day.”

Dillon was right, putting something back inside of my empty stomach did help me feel better. When we finished eating, I came in the living room to find us a movie to watch, not wanting anything girly or action-packed I go for a comedy. I could use something to laugh about because my life is anything but funny at the moment. While Dillon was on the phone with Levi in the backyard, I took the opportunity to call my sisters on three-way and catch them up, not wanting them to hear about what was going on from someone else and come to my house banging down the door. Needless to say, they were both devastated and upset with what was happening with me, we decided that we would carry on with life as it should be and not let this guy stop us from living. I informed them about Carson starting with us tomorrow and they’re both supportive and excited about teaching him our craft. Once conversations on both ends were ended we settle down and laugh our asses off watching Grown Ups.

We both fell asleep on the couch before the movie came to a conclusion. Waking several hours later, we move to the bedroom. We end up changing the sheets and I bring down my spare comforter and we climb in and fall fast asleep in each other’s arms. It’s the best night’s sleep I’ve ever experienced.
