Jake (Immortals of New Orleans Book 8) by Kym Grosso (17)

Chapter Seventeen

Life rushed through Kai, desire flooding her as she woke. The ancient vampire’s blood swirled with her Alpha’s, their energy filtering through every cell of her body. Aching for Jake, she’d been filled with a sensual craving she’d never known. She’d suspected if she’d forced their powers from her mind, the effects would have been reduced. But she’d deliberately chosen to ride the wild haze she’d woken to, bringing pleasure to the men who’d saved her.

Kai reveled in Jake’s erotic gift. Experimenting within the safety of his command sent her soul soaring. Washing away the horror of the night, making love regenerated their spirits, readying them for another battle.

Kai delighted in his intoxicating kiss. My Alpha. Her beast roared at his touch, immersed in its submission. Master. As his lips tore from hers, her heart pounded in her chest at the anticipation of what he’d do next.

“Take him, Kai,” Jake told her.

Her gaze flashed to his, and she hesitated to move.

“Do you want to bring him pleasure? I want to see you suck him.”

“Like this?” she asked, a coquettish lilt to her voice. Courage blossomed as she leaned forward and settled herself onto her elbows. With her eyes set on her Alpha, she gave a flirtatious smile as she pursed her lips and blew gently over Quintus’ plump crown, her lips hovering over his dick. She gripped it with one hand and cupped his testicles in the other.

“Ah, Goddess,” the vampire replied, his body tense with arousal.

Her eyes flared with heat as Jake smiled at her. Kai’s pussy flooded as her Alpha stroked his own cock. She lapped at Quintus’ dick and slowly dragged her tongue over its weeping slit, teasing the delicate skin. She placed the tip through her lips and moaned, swallowing Quintus’ hard length down her throat.

“Fuck, that’s hot. Don’t stop now, sweetheart. I’ve gotta grab something from the bathroom and I’ll be right back,” Kai heard Jake say, curious as to what he’d gone to retrieve. Her pussy clenched at the thought of him fucking her while she sucked Quintus.

“Ah, Kai…I can’t wait a second longer,” she heard him growl as he quickly returned. His dick teased her readied core.

She hummed in acknowledgement, never releasing Quintus as her Alpha eased into her, his thick shaft stretching her until he was sheathed to the hilt. Kai’s body shuddered as he withdrew and thrust inside her slick pussy.

A cool liquid dripped down the crease of her bottom, and she stilled. Her heartbeat sped at the sensation. The pad of his finger circled her back hole and he gently slid a digit inside her.

“That’s right. We’re going to fuck you, sweetheart. And this.” Jake withdrew his fingers, and slid two inside her anus. Plunging them in and out, he stretched her in preparation.

“Ah Goddess…please, Jake…” she breathed at the twinge in her bottom. “I don’t know if I can…yes.”

“Look at how beautiful you are,” he praised.

“Fuck me,” she cried as he continued his erotic assault, rocking his hard cock inside her pussy. She lapped at Quintus’ dick. Her eyes flashed to his briefly, his back arching as she sucked him hard. She moaned, spiraling toward orgasm.

“Ah Goddess, I’m going…ah fuck,” Quintus cried. “No, no, not yet.”

“Stop, Kai,” Jake told her. “I want him in you.”

With a deliberate defiance, Kai sucked Quintus down her throat and released him with a pop. She was rewarded with a swift slap to her bottom. As the sting landed on her cheek, she gave a yelp, her forehead resting on Quintus’ thigh.

“I can see you’re going to require a lot of training, my sweet pixiu.”

“Hmm,” she managed.

“Move up a little, sweetheart,” Jake told her.

Panting, she crawled up Quintus, her eyes roaming over his broad muscular chest. His firm hand gripped her hips, as he readied his cock.

“No don’t,” Kai protested as Jake withdrew.

“Easy Kai,” he told her. “Quintus is going to make love with us.”

She focused on the vampire, his hand reaching to cup her cheek. She closed her eyes, rubbing her face into his cool palm. His masculine scent filled the air. So different to her Alpha, yet it calmed her beast.

“You sure about this, bella?” he asked.

Kai’s heavy lids opened, her gaze on his.

“As much as I want to be inside you right now, I need to know you want this.”

“There’s no going back, sweetheart,” Jake added.

“Yes.” Kai nodded, her lips pressed to his hand. She widened her legs as Quintus’ tip grazed her slick folds.

“Ah, Goddess,” Quintus grunted, easing himself inside her pussy. Fully seated, he sucked a deep breath and waited on Jake.

“Jake…please,” her core ached, begging for release. She rocked her clit gently onto Quintus’ pelvis seeking relief.

“You ready, sweetheart? Just relax now. I’ll go slowly. Push back on me,” Jake told her, his calming energy pulsating through them.

Kai tensed, stilling as Jake’s cock slid slowly into her back hole. She gasped as he pressed further inside her. An ache radiated through her tight ring of muscle as it stretched open to accommodate him.

“Oh…I don’t know if I can…you’re so big…I’m so…” she grunted.

“Easy, sweetheart. I’m almost all the way. Slow. Breathe,” he instructed, running his palm up her back.

Kai sensed his magick weaving its way into her mind. Her body came alive, his energy dancing through her skin. As his hips brushed her bottom, she exhaled into the fullness.

“Slow now,” Jake directed as he withdrew slightly and rocked back inside her. “Look at how beautiful you are, sweetheart.”

“I…I feel…it’s so tight.” Kai parted her lips, accepting Quintus’ thumb inside her mouth. She sucked it, her body tingling as both men gently fucked her.

“Si bella, you feel so good.”

Kai’s lips brushed Quintus’, accepting his gentle kiss. Although she was attracted to him, her heart beat only for her Alpha. With her wolf in her mind, she made love to Quintus, aware of Jake’s every stroke.

As they increased their pace, Kai broke contact, resting her cheek onto the vampire’s chest. She rocked her hips against him, his pelvis grazing her swollen bead. With her Alpha’s cock in her ass and Quintus in her pussy, she relaxed into the dark sensation. She gave ragged breaths as the wave of her climax edged closer.

“It feels so good…please, don’t stop,” she moaned.

“Ah…you’re so fucking tight. I never…so good,” Jake breathed.

“Oh Goddess,” she cried as Jake’s arm wrapped around her waist, his finger brushing through her slit. As he teased a circle around her clit, he rocked inside her. Quintus met him thrust for thrust, her body rippling with their combined energies.

“Harder, fuck me,” she pleaded. “So close…that’s it…please…please…”

Magick and arousal swirled thick in the air. Her beast roared and she spied the wolf in her mind’s eye, sprinting toward her. Jake kept her in place as he fucked her, his fingers playing over her ripe flesh.

Kai screamed for her Alpha as her release seized her. “Jake, Jake… yes.” She panted for breath as they consumed her body, shuddering in ecstasy with each driving thrust that filled her completely. Her pussy convulsed around Quintus, her ass tightening around Jake’s cock.

She heard her Alpha grunt her name as he slammed into her, giving a cry of satisfaction, his fingertips gripping her hips. Her body quivered, her golden essence illuminating her skin. In a perfect moment of simultaneous climax, the magnificent waves of energy tore through them. Her power merged with her Alpha and Quintus, and she collapsed in a blissful state.

As Jake removed himself, she uttered his name, allowing Quintus to roll her onto her side and into her Alpha’s arms. Barely cognizant of the warm washcloth to her bottom, she curled into Jake’s passionate embrace. His lips brushed her forehead, and her heart crushed in a thousand pieces. My Alpha. I love you.

Kai blinked her eyes open. A sunny beam streamed through the skylight from the A-framed ceiling. Thick red cedar logs ran up the walls of the cabin.

“Mornin’.” Kai smiled at the voice of her Alpha.

“Hey,” she replied, pressing her lips to his chest.

“How are you feeling today?” Jake caressed her hair.

“Hmm…good. Last night…” Kai’s mind twisted through every delicious moment she’d experienced making love to Jake and Quintus. “It was amazing. Thank you.”

“You were incredible, sweetheart. I just wish the night had started off better.”

“Kasdeya.” As she spoke the name of her enemy, she took solace knowing she’d had a hand in destroying the triad.

“She got away, but what you did…Jesus, Kai. I don’t even want to know how you knew the Kris would do that. I’ve seen a lot of shit in my day but I never thought you’d kill…”

“I wasn’t trying to kill myself. I just…there was something about what the Elder said. The book. Sacrifice.”

“You did it. You broke up the demon mistress. Whatever demonic forces held it together, when they split…”

“The human died.”

“The kids’ stepfather, I’m guessing.”

“He deserved it.” Her tone ran cold as she recalled what the children had told her. “But the vampire. Kasdeya. She’s still alive.”

“As is the wolf.” Jake sighed.

“Do you think it’s part of Anzober Wolves?”

“I don’t think so. I didn’t recognize it. Not sure if it was male or female, but I would have scented it as mine. This one was different.” Jake pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. “Tonight. When we get to the pack house, it’s all breaking loose. I’ll text Logan to see if he’s heard anything. I gotta tell you Kai, when I almost lost you last night…”

“But you didn’t. I’m still here.” She smiled and gazed up into his blue eyes.

“Hey, are you sure you’re okay after last night? I was half tempted to have Quint buzz us to San Diego but I thought it best to wait for Hunter.”

“Jake,” Kai said, rolling onto her stomach, her hand on his abs. “I’m fine. I don’t want you to feel guilty about what Quint did. I can feel you now.”

Jake smiled, staying silent as she continued.

“I don’t think I’m vampire but if I’ve changed then so be it. It doesn’t matter. I just found out I’m a shifter but my beast, she’s still there. I can feel her. And as for what we did?” She shrugged with a small laugh. “It was beautiful. Being with you and Quint…it just…it felt so good. I want you to know that even though we did that…I don’t have feelings for him…I mean…”

“Hey now. Don’t you feel guilty either, sweetheart. Last night was incredible. I meant what I said, you’re mine. You were amazing. And Quint?” Jake gave a closed smile. “He needed us too. He saved you. I owe him everything.”

I love you. The words danced on the tip of her tongue but she avoided expressing the emotion that rushed to the surface. Her thoughts were broken by a loud roar, coming from outside the home.

“What’s that?” Her body went tense, still on alert from last night’s danger.

“He’s here.” Jake pressed his lips to her head and slid out of bed. He strode across the room to an oversized armoire.

“Who’s here?” she asked, shoving onto her elbows.

“Hunter.” Jake handed her a bathrobe. “Sorry, he doesn’t keep much here. He’ll have brought supplies. Clothes.”

“What?” she asked. Sitting up on the bed, Kai dressed. “I thought this was a pack house.”

“Yes and no. It’s Hunter’s place but he lets good friends use it. I stayed here a few days while I was on the coast. I needed some space and well, you’ll see when you get into the kitchen; nothing but space. It’s not big but makes up for it all with the view. It’s also far enough away from San Francisco that you don’t need to worry about any visits from vamps.”

Kai’s heart sped slightly at the prospect of seeing Hunter. Although he’d granted her asylum in his territory, he’d not known of her beast.

Jake tugged on a pair of shorts and pulled a t-shirt over his head. “I’ll be right back. I’m gonna run out and see if he needs a hand.”

“No worries.”

As Kai followed him and stepped out of the bedroom, she caught sight of the breathtaking view. Spectacular cliffs gave way to the wild blue Pacific which stretched into the horizon. She padded into the kitchen and spied Quintus at the counter, who greeted her with coffee. Memories of her night with her Alpha and the vampire streamed through her mind.

Kai gave a smile to her Alpha as he disappeared out the front door. He nodded in approval as she embraced the vampire. Warmth and comfort speared through her as Quintus placed a kiss to her forehead and handed her a mug.

“Ah, bella. Good morning.”

“Thank you. For everything,” she said, bringing the cup to her lips. “You saved my life.”

“It is you who saved our lives. The triad is no more. And now, we find your sister. Kill Kasdeya. Things shall be set right. Your bravery did that.”

“But your blood…” Kai brought her fingers to her lips; the taste of their essence burned into her mind.

“Do you worry you’ve been turned? I promised Jake…you won’t be under my control. He is and always will be your master,” he assured her.

“I’m not worried. Honestly, I don’t feel any different. Jake is every bit my Alpha.” She laughed. “Sorry, it’s just odd. He’s my mate now. When I’m with him…I don’t know how to explain it. He’s part of me. Of my soul.”

“Ah, love is a splendid thing.” Quintus winked and pulled out a chair, gesturing for her to sit.

Kai blushed at his knowing statement, and sat, inwardly laughing that she could be read so easily. She bit her lip as Jake opened the door, Hunter following, his arms full with supplies. Kai stood, her eyes on the Wyoming Alpha.

“Hey,” Hunter said, depositing the bags onto the kitchen counter. He stared at the vampire, whose expression remained impassive. “Quintus?”

“Alpha,” he said in acknowledgement. Quintus pressed to his feet and gave a slight bow of his head.

“You’re sure he’s safe?” Hunter asked Jake.

“He’s a friend. Saved Kai’s life,” Jake told him.

“Dr. Beckett, so lovely to meet you again,” Hunter said, extending his hand to her.

“Alpha.” She placed her hand in his, giving a firm shake. “Please call me Kai.”

“Hunter,” he corrected. “You have only one Alpha now.” He smiled at Jake and set his attention back onto Kai. “I’m very sorry to hear about your sister’s disappearance. Come, let’s eat. I grabbed some sticky buns from the bakery but they’re not going to hold a candle to yours.”

Kai laughed. She’d known the locals at the firehouse had enjoyed her cooking but she’d never interacted with them, fearing she’d be discovered. Jake pulled out a seat next to her and sat down, opening a bottle of water.

“Last night, Kai split up the triad but Kasdeya got away, as did a wolf. It’s brown. Not sure on the sex but it doesn’t matter. I’m thinking that even though Kasdeya drove the demon train, the wolf had a hand in whatever’s going down in Anzober,” Jake theorized. “Alex was found dead by hikers. Somewhere near Pfeiffer Beach. He could have been on his way up to see Kasdeya. Or maybe he was dragged up. Either way, Logan hasn’t heard from anyone from the pack in two days.”

“I hope they have Shilan. I always thought Kasdeya kidnapped her but think about it…she had Cassandra and used her as bait. She could have used Shilan if she had her in San Francisco. It doesn’t make sense.” Kai said, her thoughts focused on her sister.

“It’s possible the wolf took her. Maybe they’ve got her stored down in San Diego,” Jake suggested.

“Is it possible she’s lupine?” Hunter asked as he retrieved a white box from one of the bags. He tore open the plastic cutlery and began to serve the rolls onto napkins.

“I didn’t think so but we have different fathers. I guess anything is possible at this point. If Kasdeya wanted the Kris because she knew it would split the triad, she succeeded in getting me to find it. I’m sure though, that she wanted me. I believe they took her because of me. My power.” Kai glanced to Jake, drawing on her Alpha’s strength as she revealed her secret to Hunter. “You see, I am pixiu. I spent years trying to suppress my nature. Shilan and I have hidden.”

“Not anymore, sweetheart.” Jake nodded at Hunter. “Wait until you see her. She’s awesome.”

“I’ve made a deliberate decision to leave my pack out of this fight. This is not their concern. But you’re my brother,” Hunter told Jake. “And so is Logan. Acadian blood runs in our veins. This shit in San Diego is going to end today.”

“The pack is mine,” Jake said, claiming his role.

“About damn time you realized what the hell is happening. Now look,” he held up his hand and then continued serving breakfast, “I know more than anyone what it’s like to leave New Orleans. It’s home. But you have a destiny, man. And this is it.”

“It worries me that we haven’t heard anything from pack members. If the wolves were down by the sea, they’d be in their own homes, we’d have news. To be fair, the pack’s small but to hear absolutely nothing is a bad sign. There’s a pack house in the desert. Out toward Ranchita. My guess is whoever killed Alex called a pack meeting and has them held up in there.”

“What’s the terrain?” Hunter asked.

“The surrounding area is rocky, but it flattens out once you get into the desert. The house itself, though, it’s more like a compound. Twenty-plus cabins. The main building’s big enough to hold events. But the thing is,” Jake shook his head, his mouth tensing as he spoke, “Chaz Baldwin. The asshole who attacked Gillian, he built holding rooms there.”

“You mean like a jail?” Quintus asked, placing a mug onto the table.

“Yeah, a few are silvered. He was a piece of work. Into torture and shit like that. It wasn’t enough to force a wolf into submission the old-fashioned way. He also took other kinds of beings, not just wolves. But I’m telling you guys, when I left Alex in charge, there wasn’t a tie left to Chaz. I still feel like it’s my fault…”

“Hey, you did as you were told,” Hunter said.

“Logan didn’t ask me to go there and stay. It was a temporary thing. In and out. I loved the pack, but New Orleans is home.”

“Hey, I get it brother. It’s not like I ever thought I’d be leaving the bayou either.”

“Do you think they have Shilan in one of those rooms?” Kai asked, horrified at the thought she’d been detained.

“It’s possible. This brown wolf. Whatever it is, it could have killed Alex. With Kasdeya’s help, they might have the whole damn pack shut down.” Jake stretched his neck and sighed. “I think what we do is go in full force at nightfall. Take the chopper in and if needed, both Kai and Quint here can zap us out.”

“I don’t know if I can take anyone else,” Kai told him, unsure of her abilities.

“You get yourself out. Quintus can take Hunter.”

“But what about you?” she asked, concern in her voice.

“I’m taking the wolf.”

“They’ll be expecting us after last night,” Quintus stated as he poured coffee.

“Yeah, but they won’t be expecting Kai. Last night they had wards set up. My guess is that they haven’t had time for that shit in the desert. It’s not Kasdeya’s stomping ground. She was planning on taking us out last night.”

“She wanted the Kris,” Kai said.

“She wanted the Kris because she knew it would destroy her little demon trick. That ship has sailed. I say we leave it here in Hunter’s safe.”

“I’ve got wards on this place. Kasdeya won’t even see it, let alone be able to get in here,” Hunter assured them.

“Look sweetheart, I’m going to be calling on your beast if we need her. No offense to you, Quint, but Kasdeya has had several years of this demon mojo going for her. Even though she split, she might still have something in her. We can’t chance it.”

As Jake and Hunter continued to strategize, Kai’s beast stirred. Its time had come to fruition. The evil that had taken her sister would wish for a thousand deaths. No longer restrained, her great pixiu would rise. Fighting with her Alpha, she would protect her mate and her pack.
