The Dragon's Secret (The Dragon Warlords Book 1) by Megan Michaels (2)

The closer Satin came to Trexotera; the faster her heart beat in her chest.

What if I made the wrong decision? What if I’m not ready? Will I be happy here?

Growing up she had read everything she could find about the Planet Trexotera wanting to learn everything about the dragons. She’d read the tales of old and young trainers in the dragon army, and marveled at their knowledge and the intuition required in training these beasts.

Many of the traits that their planet had deemed necessary to become a Warlord or Commander of the dragons had been present in her personality, and even though she had dreamed of being a Warlord, she didn’t dare let her mind wander in that direction for too long. She swore she’d be happy as a Warlord’s wife and partner.

Just being in the presence of those massive creatures would be more than she could ever attain on the tiny planet of Zelora.

But now that she could see the large planet from space, she worried that she hadn’t taken into account the transition required, and wondered if she’d be courageous enough to walk among the dragons.

Part of Satin wondered if her father would be there waiting for her.

Would Drayce be there waiting? I hope so.

“Approaching.” The female AI voice informed her that they would be landing momentarily, and she could see the landing strip in the distance. Gasping she covered her mouth with her hand, the large black, brown, blue, or red dragons she’d only read about or saw in photographs were walking—free—across the flat plains of Trexotera.

The outwardly placid creatures seemed innocuous, like the bulbors on her planet. Reptilian creatures that ate plants and small fowl, not dangerous in any way, but she also knew that when these beasts were given orders by their Commander or felt threatened in any manner, these dragons would destroy what they perceived as an enemy within seconds with their pointy teeth and fire.

The tires on the spaceship hit the ground, the jolt throwing her backward away from the window and she landed harshly on the nearby couch, banging her head on a table.

“Son of a bitch! Fuck! That’ll be a bruise tomorrow.” She rubbed her forehead.

Rising, she peered out the window, hoping to see the giants still walking along the ground, but instead of dragons the sight before her had her shaking.

Drayce!

His dark, shoulder length hair waved in the wind, and his black uniform with the gold buttons and a red dragon insignia on the right sleeve was conspicuously visible. His lips thinned, and once he caught sight of her in the window, he pointed a finger in her direction. The warning clear.

Stay. Don’t move.

If she hadn’t been so frightened, she would have laughed. Where in the hell did he think she would go? She had no other options at this point. Did she?

With her mind racing, Satin wondered if there was an eject button that she wasn’t aware of. Her next thought had her wondering if she could run to the cockpit undetected before he boarded the ship finding the escape hatch—if there was one.

It was then that the question of whether she had enough time to escape had been answered, the door flung open, and daylight streamed onto the ship.

Drayce’s dark countenance boarded the ship. Having to duck to enter the doorway, she had no doubt that he was easily nine feet tall, having to duck to enter the doorway and his broad shoulders filled it blocking out the rest of the sunlight.

“You’ve been a bad girl, Satin.” His deep voice rumbled over her, and her clit sprung to life, throbbing instantly.

“Well, hello to you too.” Her response dripped with sarcasm. She was a bit taken aback by his lack of manners and etiquette.

Who doesn’t say hello upon meeting someone?

“Keep your sarcasm to yourself, girl. You’re in enough trouble. What were you thinking, taking this spaceship on your own?” He slammed the door behind him, leaving the rest of the men standing outside near the staircase waiting for him.

It didn’t seem like a loaded question, but Satin was unsure how to respond. She had several reasons, and to be honest, she couldn’t help but wonder if Drayce would even care a whit about any of them.

“I wanted to come here…and Thistle didn’t. I solved both problems.” Satin shrugged, biting her lip waiting for his response.

“I’m not surprised that Thistle didn’t want to come, and, regardless of whether it is true or not, you put yourself at risk by flying this craft on your own. You could have been killed, and you didn’t even bring an assistant with you or a copilot.” His nostrils flared, and instead of towering over her as he had been, Drayce sat in the chair across from her, glaring in her direction.

“I don’t need a fucking assistant. I’m more than capable of flying this ship on my own. I studied the control panel and schematics. I know how to fly this as well as the engineers who made it. You’ll see, I’m pretty resourceful, Commander when I set my mind to something.” She smiled smugly at the debonair military man seated in front of her, admiring the many pins and medals on his shoulder. But it was the red dragon insignia against the pitch black fabric that impressed her most; she fought the urge to reach out and touch the carefully sewn badge.

“No, you don’t need an assistant, but one was required. All pilots have a copilot. What you do need, girl is a keeper and a damn good spanking for what you’ve done.” An angry tic presented in his jaw and it made Satin squirm.

“How dare you! I don’t need either.”

“Oh is that so? Because it seems to me that you came here knowing that you’d be marrying me, and if you do that, sweetheart, you’ll be agreeing to any and all discipline I dish out. I won’t say only command dragons, but you as well, my dear.”

She swallowed past the lump in her throat knowing that this was indeed the truth.

Am I ready for this? Can I even agree with something like this?

“Yes, Sir,” she mumbled quietly. Satin refused to forfeit the chance of a lifetime, an opportunity that she had spent most of her life trying to attain. And as much as it galled her, he was right. She had left without a copilot, and it was foolish. But she’d been willing to do that for a fighting chance to live amongst and be educated alongside a dragon trainer. She would accept whatever penalty there was for that lifestyle, even if it meant submission to the Warlord and accepting his punishment and discipline.

How bad can it be?

“Did you just say, ‘Yes, Sir?’” Drayce looked at her with raised eyebrows.

“I…Yes, Sir. I did say that. I’m a little afraid, but I’ll comply.”

Drayce did a slow nod. “You need to be more than a little afraid. I’m not an easy Commander or Warlord, which means, I’m afraid, I won’t be an easy husband or trainer. You’ll learn—quickly and painfully—that I expect obedience from everyone trained under me.”

“I’m not a fucking dragon. You know that, right? I refuse to be trained like an animal.” She crossed her arms over her chest, pissed at the insinuation that he’d treat her in the same manner as his dragons.

“Oh, sweetheart, you’ll wish you were treated as well as my dragons. I may discipline them harshly—just as I will you—but they’re treated with kid gloves because of their fire. You, on the other hand, I don’t have to worry about you breathing fire on me.” He snickered.

“That’s only because you haven’t been the victim of my wrath. You may change your mind on that, trust me.” She winked at him, mocking his smugness.

Drayce stopped laughing and crossed over to sit next to her on the couch.

He sat down a little too close for Satin’s comfort, and she dug her heels into the carpet, moving further from him, but she didn’t get too far away when his large hands grabbed her around the waist tossing her over his lap, holding her in a vice-like hold.

“What are you doing? You can’t treat me like this.”

“Oh I can and I will—many more times, I’m thinking,” he chuckled, tossing his heavy leg over hers, keeping her totally immobile.

“My first rule. You’ll never be spanked on anything but your bare bottom. So let’s dispense of these pesky pants.”

Hooking his fingers into her pants, he yanked both her pants and panties down to her knees.

Satin tried kicking him with her feet and then resorted to slapping him with her hands, but he had her positioned in such a way that neither defense worked.

Before she could reason with the large alien, asking that he rethink this whole spanking thing, arguing that she was a grown woman—an intelligent and independent woman—his huge hand slapped her backside in such a flurry that it took her breath away.

It was then that he lectured her, setting forth the rules that he expected her to obey. Satin wasn’t sure she could even think, let alone retain what he was saying, the whole of her mind focused on the burning pain encompassing the whole of her bottom.

“Now that you’re here, and you’ll be mine, you’ll never board a car, spaceship, dragon, or even a bicycle without my knowledge and permission. Are. We. Clear?”

“Y-yes, sir.” She shouted her response, hoping if she sounded agreeable and respectful, maybe then his hand would stop, but she found out quickly that he wasn’t going to relent any time soon.

“We’ll discuss daily what your agenda is and you’ll not deviate from it. What you wish to do no longer matters, you’ll do as I say and what I require of you. Do you understand?”

Blubbering, she did her best to give her response along with incoherent mumblings and pleas. “I will…be good…no, I w-won’t…s-sorry…so s-sorry…oh, please!”

“I am not only the Commander and Warlord of Dragons, but I will also be the Commander of Satin. Your submission is demanded, girl.”

“Yes. Yes, sir.” Satin would have agreed to dance naked before the King if Drayce required it, doing anything to make the barrage of spanks stop.

Drayce rested his hand on her cheeks for a moment, before rubbing the inflamed flesh.

Satin’s tears continued to fall; her cries felt like they’d never end. She cried out all the hurt and fears she’d felt for weeks it seemed. After a while, her sobs waned to hiccups.

“Do you think you can refrain from leaving our property without permission, or should I resume your punishment?”

“N-no! I’ll stay, I p-promise.” Looking over her shoulder, Satin peered at Drayce, hoping a plea for mercy was evident on her face and she swore his eyes softened, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.

“Before I let you up, we have one more thing to discuss.” He lightly patted her ass.

“Oh, no. Please, no more.” The pitiful whine in her voice made her sick to her stomach, she abhorred whining of any kind, and yet this man had reduced her to a sniveling child.

“Oh, sweetie. No more spanking. You’re done. I just wanted to tell you that the Director of Religious Affairs will be here any moment and we’ll be getting married immediately. I don’t want to delay this any longer than we must. I’m making you mine and beginning your training as my wife.”

“Well, with a proposal as romantic as that, how could I refuse?” She dripped with sarcasm, but the offense at his unfeeling commitment, made her … insecure…and unworthy.

“Sarcasm might not be the smartest move on your part, girl, especially since your red hind-end is more than likely still throbbing. Am I correct?” He slapped each cheek, reigniting the burn.

“Yes, it still stings. Sorry!” She attempted to rise on her hip, avoiding any further swats, but with little effort he snatched her by the waist, holding her still.

Taking a deep breath, he pulled her up to sit on his thigh. “I apologize for hurting your feelings. I guess I’m not used to coddling a woman. I’ve wanted to marry you from the beginning, Satin, and I refuse to defy the Gods of Alpheas any longer, we’re destined to be together.”

Shocked at his declaration, Satin stared at him.

“Are you okay?”

“Y-yes. I just…I didn’t expect to hear you say that. I mean it’s everything I wanted to hear, but I guess, I’m kind of blown away.” She looked down at her bare pussy, looking back at Drayce, blushing. “I’m not ready for a wedding. I mean…I have no wedding dress.”

“No worries, Satin. We have a wedding robe for you. I’ll call the tailors to dress you, and I’ll get ready in my room as well.” He stood up, picking her panties up from the floor and handing them over. “You may cover yourself, while I call the women to prepare you.”

She slipped her panties on, squirming when they brushed against her backside, avoiding any rubbing, not wanting him to see her weakness. She pulled her pants on; the fabric kept the heat of her spanking contained, accentuating her punishment.

After speaking through a communicator on the wall, Drayce sauntered over to her, his long finger tilting her chin up. “I’m not sorry you were spanked, but I’m sorry that you’re sore. I can only hope that it’ll be incentive to listen and obey, but you must know this—punishments will be given when required. It is of no concern to me how many spankings you’ve had preceding it or the condition of your little ass at the time of your misbehavior. If it is deserved, it’ll be given without delay.”

“Okay,” she whispered her response, the warning and callousness with which it was given, scaring her a bit.

“I’ll see you soon.” He lightly kissed her lips, a shiver running through her body.

Drayce winked at her. “Keep that in mind for later.”
