Blue Christmas by Gold, Viva (3)

ELVIS

I was in the back of Jonah Kent’s car under a blanket, huddled into his side. The heater was blasting hot air, but I still shivered. Jonah was also pretty soggy, yet his body temperature was insanely warm. And he smelled so good.

“Are you sniffing me?” he asked, with a hint of amusement to his tone. He was slowly thawing; literally and figuratively. I cringed a bit. Clearing my throat, I told Pete my address. “What are you telling him that for?” Jonah asked.

“You said you were taking me home, Jonah. Remember?” I tapped his brow. “Did you bump your head?”

Jonah batted my hand away and scowled. “I meant my home.”

I bolted upright. “What? Don’t you live in New York?” I blushed when I realised he’d know I’d been Googling him.

“I do, but I also have a flat in London…” He had the good grace to look mildly embarrassed.

“Don’t be modest on my account,” I piped up waving my hand theatrically, encouraging him to finish his sentence.

“And a house on the Cape near Province Town.” I wasn’t going to let on I had no idea where that was. “Have you been?”

Damn, now I’d have to bluff. “No, Australia is way too far. One day maybe.”

Jonah looked at me blankly, then burst out laughing. “You’re a gem, Elvis Smith.” I tutted at him. “Cape Cod is on the East Coast of America, just down from Boston. It’s beautiful there, you’ll love it.”

I swallowed hard. Jonah had made it sound like he was going to take me there, but seeing as we’d only just met today, I doubted that’s what he meant. “What’s New York like at Christmas?” I asked him wistfully. It was a dream of mine to go there, especially during the festive season when it was meant to be utterly magical.

“It’s wet and cold,” Jonah replied.

“Don’t be such a Grinch!” I squeezed his rather impressive bicep. “Tell me.”

“How about we decide where we’re going first. I’d love you to come back to mine.”

“Jonah, sweetie. Us mere mortals have to work 9 to 5 to make a living. That means me; at Zapato; tomorrow morning.” He didn’t look like it was sinking in. “I can’t go gallivanting off to London on a whim and not be in to open the store.”

“Firstly, I’ve never gallivanted anywhere in my life.” Jonah chuckled. “Secondly, I’ll make sure you open up.”

I snorted and slapped my hand over my mouth. “That’s a bit forward,” I teased him. His eyebrows shot up and he laughed at my joke.

“I have a helicopter which will fly you back in the morning, in plenty of time for work.”

I slumped into the soft leather. I thought about his offer while chewing on my thumb nail. I was tempted, because, you know, Jonah Kent, but he was so out of my league I was a bit overwhelmed. What did I know about Cape Cod and helicopters?

“You’re overthinking this, I can tell.” Jonah’s deep voice sent a tremor through my body, pooling in my groin. Everything about him was sexy as fuck; was I really going to pass on the opportunity of getting to know him, even if it was only for one night, just because I was inexperienced. I certainly had the sass and the enthusiasm, albeit buried under my wet clothes. It was nearly Christmas for heaven’s sake – what better gift could I ask for?

“Ok.”

“Ok?” Jonah looked really hopeful, which was flattering.

“Let me just message Maddy that I’ll be in after lunch – that way I won’t stress.”

I tapped away at my mobile while Jonah instructed Pete to take us to London. The journey took just under an hour, during which time we chatted about the Kent Outlet Village. Jonah asked my opinion on a range of topics to do with the site, listening intently to my answers. I was full of ideas and could wax lyrical on all things retail till the cows came home.

“You honestly love it?” Jonah queried.

“I do. I love interacting with the customers; creating enticing displays; making sales; managing staff – all of it.”

Jonah leaned back into his seat looking thoughtful. He stared at me and cocked his head. “I might have a proposal for you.”

I narrowed my eyes at him. “You’re not going to try and buy me again, are you?”

“I admit I wasn’t very eloquent the last time I wanted to ask something of you, but hear me out, Elvis…”

Before Jonah could continue I placed my palm over his mouth. “No. I don’t want you to tell me until tomorrow. I might hate what you’re about to say and then my night will be ruined. Let me enjoy the next few hours first, ok?” A wet tongue licked the inside of my hand. “That’s mature.” I wiped it dry on the blanket.

“There’s no need for you to worry, but if it makes you happy, then I’ll ask you tomorrow.” The car came to a stop. I looked out the window at a row of really old buildings.

“Where are we?”

“Portland Place. That’s the Langham Hotel over there.” Jonah pointed out the front of the car.

“Is this where you live?”

Jonah nodded. “That’s the top of Regent Street.” He twisted around to look at me. “Do you want to see the Christmas lights?”

My hands went to my mouth and I nodded excitedly. It was years since my parents had brought us up to London to see the beautiful lights above Oxford Street and Regent Street. “Oh yes, can we?”

“Pete?”

“Sure thing, Mr Kent, Sir.”

Pete swung the big vehicle into the road and drove towards the twinkling decorations. He pulled back a cover to reveal a glass roof.

“Look up, Elvis,” Jonah said softly. I gasped. Above me hung hundreds of bulbs glittering in the shapes of angels, stars, baubles and all manner of Yuletide designs. It was utterly breath taking.

“So beautiful,” a deep voice uttered beside me.

“Uh huh,” I agreed without tearing my eyes away.

A heavy hand rested warmly on the nape of my neck. “I could stare all night and still not have my fill.”

“Eh?” That was a weird thing to say about fairy lights. I glanced to the side of me. “Oh my God.” Jonah was staring at me – he wasn’t looking at the decorations at all. I felt flustered under this man’s intense regard. My skin prickled with goose bumps. Jonah slowly inched forward, closing the gap between us until he was close enough to kiss me. I swooned. Being the focus of his attention was profoundly overwhelming, but he never let me flounder. Instead he devoured me with his mouth and tongue until all I could do was give myself up to his fervour. It was heady and erotic. My cock was hard against the zip of my jeans. My nipples stood to attention like two beacons of wanton lust, and the rest of my body lit up brighter than any of the LEDs above us.

“Your fucking mouth,” Jonah gasped. “The taste of you…Pete, take us home please.”

Jonah’s flat on Portland Place was impressive to say the least. It was massive, probably three times the size of our entire house.

“What do you need all this space for?” I asked him. He looked a little sad at my question making me regret being so nosey.

“I assumed by now, that these rooms would be filled with a family.”

“I can’t imagine why a gorgeous, wealthy man such as yourself, is still single.” We stood in the middle of his living room. I’d toed off my boots in the hallway and was now tugging at my damp shirt and jeans to get them off. Standing in my briefs and socks I asked Jonah where the dryer was. “You do have a dryer?”

He laughed, “I’m not sure, actually.”

“What d’you mean? Where do wash your clothes?” I was stunned.

“I, er, pop them in the laundry basket and they come back clean.”

I rolled my eyes at him. “Bloody hell. Come on, let’s find it.”
