Daddy's Best Friend (69th St. Bad Boys Book 3) by Siren, TIa (15)

Chapter Fifteen

H unter

T he pot began to boil over, and I cursed as I grabbed it and burned my hand. I was cooking dinner for Lexi, but my nerves were running wild. I was going to have to tell her about Patrick, tell her that one way or another, we were out of time and had to let everyone know about us. I knew it was going to be a difficult conversation because I didn’t know what road to take. I could let Patrick tell the world and have it come down hard on all of us. I could get to Kam and the press before Patrick to try to ease the pressure. Or, and this was barely a thought in my mind, but it was still there, I could break things off with Lexi and hope that she understood it was for her own good .

My thoughts were shaken as the front door opened and closed. Lexi had arrived, and I was starting to lose the little bit of nerve I had in me. She looked so relaxed, almost unrecognizable, and I leaned in, kissing her deeply .

“Well hello,” she said, giggling .

“Hey,” I replied, trying to hide my worry. “How are you ?”

“I’m good,” she said, smiling .

I watched her as she walked over to the cabinet and pulled down the dishes to set the table. I finished cooking the ravioli, prepped the salad and the bread, and then brought it all over to the table. I walked back to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of wine, needing the alcohol to soothe my nerves. Before I could pour Lexi a glass, she covered the top, shaking her head .

“I had way too much to drink last night,” she said, laughing .

“I forgot about that. How was it ?”

Lexi began to talk about her time with Mandy. Her eyes lit up as they always did when she was telling a story. Her gorgeous smile glimmered, and her hands moved around wildly. I knew I had to tell her the situation at hand, but I didn’t want to break her from this amazing mood. She was always so stressed, so tense, and it was nice to see her with a smile on her face and relaxation in her movements. Everything that had happened with Patrick had blindsided me, and when I was away from her, it was easy to think I could just tell everyone and it would go well. However, sitting in front of her, all I wanted to do was protect her from everything I could. It was hard for me to even think about breaking it off with her, but that might have been the wisest choice. Patrick didn’t have any evidence, and if we weren’t together, we could deny it, making him look like the scorned liar he was .

God, I didn’t want to bring this up. Lexi looked so damn happy, like everything in her world was perfect. I felt like bringing it up now would only smash that beautiful smile, and that alone broke my heart. She was too pure and too beautiful to have to go through something like this. I knew the media. They would drag her through the mud, making her look like some young tart instead of the intelligent, graceful, and kind-hearted woman she was. On top of all that, her father would disown her, cutting her off and forcing her to take a back seat to his own ego. The thing was, this was not just my decision, and I needed to treat it as a joint choice. I would be pissed if she were in my shoes and didn’t tell me, but how was I supposed to tell her when I knew it would bring her world spiraling down onto her shoulders ?

“So yeah,” she said, “we got to the bar at Expose, and we started talking. I told her about you and me and how we decided it was important for us to stay together. I told her how happy I was, and you won’t believe what happened .”

“What?” I was trying not to show how disconnected from the conversation I was .

“She said she was a purple dragon flying into the ocean .”

“That’s great, sweetie,” I replied .

“Hunter,” she said, chuckling, “what are you thinking about? I just told you my best friend was a purple dragon, and you told me that was great .”

“I’m sorry,” I said, sighing and running my hands over my face. “There’s something I have to tell you, and frankly, I don’t want to. However, I can’t sit here and keep it from you when it involves and affects you .”

“What is it?” She reached out and took my hand. “You can tell me anything .”

“It’s my ex-business partner,” I said. “He’s trying to blackmail me into giving him his old job back .”

“That’s terrible,” she said. “But what does that have to do with me ?”

“He said that if I didn’t do it, he would go to your father and the media and tell them all about us.” I sighed. “I’m so sorry that this is happening. Patrick is such a

“Patrick?” She sat up and looked at me, confused. “Tall, thin guy with auburn hair and a serial-killer smile ?”

“Yeah,” I said slowly. “How do you know Patrick ?”

“I don’t,” she replied. “He came into the café the other day and asked me if I was Kam’s daughter. I said yes, but I thought he was super creepy. He didn’t even drink the coffee he bought. He just threw it in the trash on the way out .”

“That bastard,” I said, slamming my hands on the table .

“Shhh,” Lexi said. She stood up, walked around the table, and sat in my lap. “It’s okay. We will figure this all out .”

“I don’t know how unless we break up,” I said, upset by the idea .

“No,” she replied. “That’s not even an option, okay? You need to relax .”

I scoffed. “How? Everything is coming down on us .”

“Come with me,” she said, taking my hand and pulling me from the chair .

I followed her back to the bedroom, and she stopped me from turning on the lights. She pulled me in and started to unbutton my shirt while smiling up at me. I watched as her hands smoothed over my shoulders and down to my waist. She unbuckled my pants and had me take them off .

“Go lay on the bed,” she whispered. “On your stomach .”

I lay down on the bed and rested my head on my arms, listening to her undress behind me. She crawled onto the bed and straddled me, sitting on my lower back. She reached forward and rubbed the tips of her fingers lightly down my back, caressing my skin. I shivered under her touch but lay still as she began to push deep into my muscles. I could feel the tightness in my shoulders fighting back against her movements .

“Relax,” she whispered .

I took in a deep breath and closed my eyes, letting my body fold into her fists. I groaned as the knots in my muscles gave way at her touch. She massaged me for quite a while before sitting up and lifting her body up over me .

“Turn over,” she whispered .

I did as she asked and turned over, staring up at her in nothing but her bra and panties. She lowered herself on top of me and began to massage my chest, slowly working her hands down to my waist. She lifted her body and moved between my legs, rubbing my knees and then slowly moving higher. I closed my eyes and breathed deeply, trying to control my urges as she moved closer and closer to my cock. She slipped her hands under the legs of my boxer briefs and pushed her thumbs into the muscles. Once they relaxed, she flattened her hands on my thighs and rubbed up to my hips, grazing the edge of my shaft .

My cock began to rise, my blood shooting down to the veins between my legs. Lexi pulled her hands out from under the legs of my shorts and pulled them off me. I looked up into her deep eyes as she reached forward and grasped my erection with both hands. She slid them down to the base and squeezed as she moved them back up. I groaned loudly upon feeling her small, soft hands massage my cock with force. She let go and reached behind her, unclasping her bra and allowing her breasts to bounce out of it. Her nipples were rock solid. She bit her bottom lip and leaned forward, pushing my dick between her heaving breasts. As she pushed her tits together, I thrust up, growling at the feeling .

This was definitely a good way to relax me .
