Future Fake Husband by Kate Hawthorne, E.M. Denning (26)

Chapter Twenty-Six

Rhett

“Ryan is sending over the samples of the new linens he ordered. The whole batch will be here before New Year’s, but he’s told me that we’ll be impressed with the quality. As a bonus, they resist stains better and are easier to clean, cutting costs for them, and us, in return.”

“By how much?” Cole asked, typing something into his laptop.

“Ryan is sending his projections over with the samples.” Rhett listened as Elena inquired about a distribution hiccup that needed to be ironed out before the launch of the sparkling wine.

Rhett’s employment at Mallory Vineyard was only a couple months old, and he felt as if he was still learning the ropes. He’d planned a couple of smaller events at the vineyard and had teamed up with Ryan, who was working with their father, to handle the linens.

“I think that about covers everything,” Cole said, standing up. Everyone else did so and gathered their belongings off the conference table. “Mr. Kingston, can you stay behind, please? I need to discuss a few things with you.”

Rhett nodded. Their relationship was hardly a secret and he got a few knowing looks as people filed out of the room, but he didn’t care.

When everyone left, Rhett looked expectantly at Cole. “You wanted to speak to me, Mr. Mallory?”

Cole’s lip quirked. “Yes, actually. I wanted to go over the details for the New Year’s launch of the sparkling wine. Walk me to my office.”

Rhett pulled up the notes app on his tablet and read from his notes as they made their way to Cole’s office down the hall. “I’ve received approximately three hundred RSVPs for the event.”

“How many invites did you send?” Cole opened the door to his office and let Rhett enter first.

“Three hundred.” Rhett grinned. “Ryan’s giving us a great rate on all linen rentals, and Macy has agreed to do the photography for the event. She aims to get a mix of nostalgic shots that will look great in the Mallory gallery online and some shots we can use for marketing purposes.”

“And the finer details? Decorating, etcetera?”

Rhett waved a hand. “Everything is under control. My shipments have been on time so far, and everything is going according to schedule.”

“Hiring you was a brilliant move.” Cole locked the door to his office and Rhett set his tablet down on Cole’s desk.

“It certainly was,” Rhett agreed as Cole came up behind him and pressed their bodies together. Rhett had been concerned at first that there might be such a thing as too much togetherness. Cole responded to his concerns by assuring him that if he felt as if working together was too much, he’d still help Rhett launch his own business.

The opposite seemed to be true, and the more time they spent together, the closer Rhett felt to Cole. It had happened a while ago now, maybe on a dance floor in Tahiti, or maybe since then on one of their slow strolls through the vineyard. Rhett smiled, turning in Cole’s arms, thinking about how Cole now remembered to stop and smell the grapes.

He hadn’t told him yet, though. Sometimes Rhett thought the words would scare Cole away, and other times Rhett didn’t tell him because there was no way Cole couldn’t know how Rhett felt about him. He could swear there was a neon sign about his head that lit up and flashed the word swoon whenever he looked at Cole.

Rhett leaned in, pressing his mouth against Cole’s, humming in approval. “Mmm. You taste like wine.” He slid his hands up Cole’s chest.

“I do run a vineyard.” Cole responded, returning Rhett’s exploratory kiss, his hands clutching at Rhett’s waist.

Rhett didn’t want to wait until they got home. He was greedy for Cole, for the feel of his skin against Rhett’s and the sounds that only Cole could make. Rhett turned them, pressing the back of Cole’s thighs against the desk.

“What are you doing?” Cole asked as he kissed his neck, his fingers working on the buttons of Cole’s shirt.

“I’m going to fuck my boss. On his desk. In his office.” Rhett pulled Cole’s shirt loose and shoved it off his shoulders, kissing the now bare expanse of chest he loved so much. Cole leaned back, bracing his hands on his desk, a cup of pens clattering to the side and spilling onto the floor. Rhett laughed, flicking his tongue over Cole’s nipple. “You’re already making a mess and I haven’t even started yet.”

Cole’s fingers danced along Rhett’s scalp, wrapping around his hair, gripping a handful. He turned Rhett’s head, commanding that Rhett look at him. Rhett gave him what he wanted, what his parted lips begged for, and he met Cole’s mouth, licking his way inside as he fumbled with Cole’s button.

When the stubborn button popped free, he tugged at Cole’s pants, easing them down to his knees. Rhett wrapped his fingers around the back of Cole’s head and locked him into a blistering kiss, then he pulled away suddenly and sank to his knees.

He watched Cole’s head tilt back and he practically felt the groan that rumbled out of him when he took Cole’s cock into his mouth. He ran his hands up Cole’s thighs, enjoying the feeling of firm flesh beneath his fingers. He loved the way Cole was slightly hairy on his chest and all down his legs. He pulled himself away from Cole’s cock and took his balls into his mouth next, laving his tongue over the soft flesh, ignoring the way his own cock pressed uncomfortably hard against the zipper of his pants.

“Rhett, fuck.” Cole sounded the best when he was on the verge of losing his mind, Rhett thought. When his voice reached a certain breathless pitch, it delighted Rhett to get him there, then pound him into oblivion and keep him there for as long as possible.

“Something you want, baby?” Rhett asked, slipping a finger into his mouth and wetting it with his saliva, then pressing it against Cole’s hole, grinning wickedly at the groan it elicited.

“That. I want that,” Cole answered quickly, his ass doing a lovely job of taking Rhett’s finger.

He wrapped his lips around Cole’s cock and slowly sucked him down to the root, his finger stroking in and out, twisting, loosening Cole for him. Above him, Cole gripped the edge of the desk and panted, peppering his staccato breaths with expletives and Rhett’s name. Always Rhett’s name. His name, Rhett discovered, meant many things to Cole depending on how he said it.

Rhett. More. Rhett. Faster. Rhett. Please. Rhett. Harder. Rhett. I need you. Rhett. Rhett. Rhett. Rhett. Rhett. Which seemed to mean that Cole’s mind was blown and the only thing he knew in that moment was Rhett.

Rhett stood and slammed his mouth down on Cole’s, tasting him, full bodied like a wine and twice as appealing, getting him just as drunk. Cole reached for him, untucking his shirt and making quick work of undoing his pants and pulling Rhett’s cock out.

Rhett broke the kiss and turned Cole around, pressing his torso down against the desk. He left him there for a moment and fumbled into one of the drawers to get the lube Cole had begun keeping there since Rhett started working with him.

He slicked his cock and returned to Cole, running a hand down his spine, watching the way his hand looked so perfect against Cole’s skin.

“Don’t wait.” Cole pleaded, his eyes mirroring the inferno that burned out of control inside Rhett.

Rhett lined up at Cole’s entrance and pushed inside in one long slow glide of skin and skin and nothing in between them. It had been that way for months now; each of them giving the other something they’d never given any other person before—their complete trust.

He laid himself over Cole, running his hands up Cole’s arms until their fingers tangled. He sucked and kissed between his shoulders, down his neck, leaving a litany of marks there, showing anyone and everyone who might see them that Cole belonged to Rhett. It was territorial as all hell, but Cole was Rhett’s. He hadn’t had the guts yet to say the words, but Rhett knew he loved Cole.

He pressed a kiss between Cole’s shoulder blades and breathed his name against his skin, breathing the truth instead of saying it aloud, as his hips snapped and his cock slid in and out of Cole’s gorgeous ass. Pressing his forehead against Cole’s back, he slowed his frantic pace and brought Cole down from the edge.

“Rhett, please.” Cole’s voice was a combination of frustration and satisfaction that Rhett loved hearing.

“Please what, baby? What do you need?” Rhett teased, only moving slightly now, grinning when Cole rocked his ass back to fuck himself on Rhett’s cock.

“You. Please. I need you,” Cole whined.

Rhett stood up. Releasing Cole’s hands, he gripped his hips instead. Slamming back into Cole as hard as he could, he closed his eyes, dangerously close to losing himself. He pressed a hand between Cole’s shoulders, pinning him to the desk. His other hand gripped Cole’s hip, likely leaving bruises, as he pounded into him.

Electric pleasure shot through every nerve in Rhett’s body, pushing him to thrust faster, fuck harder, go deeper. Underneath him, Cole stared up at Rhett, his face plastered to the desk, his eyes hooded and glassy. Even as they fell apart, coming in hoarse shouts and frantic whimpers, they were unable to look away from each other.

Rhett’s cock twitched and pulsed as Cole’s ass spasmed and he pulled Cole up, kissing him, before sliding out and letting Cole take over, spinning around and claiming Rhett’s mouth, his fingers buried in Rhett’s hair.

Rhett pulled away; grinning at Cole, he leaned in and stole a kiss. “You made a mess.” Rhett remarked, referring to the pools of cum on Cole’s desk.

“Mmm. I did, did I?” Cole kissed the corner of his mouth, his hands groping Rhett’s ass, grinding their half-hard cocks together, not caring if he was messing up Rhett’s clothing. It was the end of the day and home was their next stop. “You should clean it up for me.”

Rhett reached for the tissue, but Cole grabbed his hand and brought Rhett’s knuckles to his lips. “With your mouth, baby.”

Rhett arched an eyebrow, then turned to the desk and bent over. He stuck his tongue out and licked the mess Cole made off the wood being careful not to swallow once he got it all. He stood and pulled Cole into a kiss, letting him share his release.

Cole pulled away and tugged his pants up. “When we get home, baby, you’re in so much trouble.”

Rhett tucked himself back into his pants. “You say the nicest things.” Rhett kissed him again, unable to keep himself from tasting him.

“I only say things I mean, baby. Remember that.”
