His First Taste: A Billionaire Romance by Amy Heighton (4)

We laid there like that for what felt like an hour. Holding her in the dark. We heard the waves crashing and we saw the stars above us.

“Do you know that we’re the only two out here?” She whispered in my ear.

“Do you know that my father told me not to get involved with you?” I asked, laughing. It was the first thing that came to mind.

Jessica wasn’t smiling though, she didn’t want to get into trouble and I didn’t want her to get into trouble either.

“Then why did you bring me out here?” She asked, laying her head back on my chest.

“I wanted to get to know you. Now that I have I think that we have a connection. I’ve never felt loved like this.” I shook my head, my smile fading from my face.

“You’re just saying that.” She laughed a little.

“No, I’m serious. You’re the only woman that got me with just a kiss. It had nothing to do with the sex. You can’t tell me that you didn’t feel it.” I challenged her to tell me that she didn’t feel the same way that I did.

Jessica didn’t say anything, but I could feel the smile on her face. I could feel it on my chest.

“What are you going to tell your father then?” Jessica asked, sliding off me and staring up at the stars.

“I don’t know, I will tell him in time. He can’t tell me what to do and he’s going to have to learn to live with it. He can’t tell me what to do and how to live my life. You don’t understand.” I told her.

I stared at her, I was being serious. He wasn’t going to tell me that I had to stop seeing her.

“I don’t want to come between you and your father. That’s the last thing I want.” Jessica put her hand on my chest.

“You don’t know my father that well. We don’t see eye to eye very often and this isn’t anything different. I will tell him, I think that we should tell him together though.” I sat up, making her sit up with me.

“If that’s what you want I will. I just don’t want to interfere anymore.” Jessica whispered, kissing my chest quickly.

“Trust me, you’re not. We will tell him together as soon as you get paid for the first week and then we will look for a place for you to stay while I stay with my dad. If it comes down to you getting fired, I don’t think it will though.” I shrugged it off.

It wasn’t that I feared my father and what he might have to say. I knew that he would laugh at me.

There had been numerous times that I had messed around with the help. They were just someone because I was lonely. I had thought that it was going to be the same with Jessica, but it wasn’t. Jessica had shown me that there could be love without even looking for it.

We got dressed slowly, neither one of us wanting to leave the ocean but I was sure that she had to work in the morning. She didn’t say it but my father was a hard ass. If I knew him then he would want her clocked it at six in the morning and making coffee or whatever he had her down for.

I helped her off the sand, I took her hand and we slowly walked back carrying our shoes to the car.

I wished we were starting our ocean hours all over again. I wished that we were just getting out of the car and getting to know each other again.

“You know that you’re going to see me tomorrow. Why are you looking so sad?” Jessica asked as soon as we got into the car.

“You’re the first one to make me feel important. Not because of my money, not because of whose son I am. But it’s because you like me for me. It’s because you want to be with me for me.” I pointed at my chest.

To me it meant the world that Jessica wasn’t like the rest. That she was different than any woman I’d been with.

“I would never judge someone because of who their family is. I wasn’t interested in you because I know that you have a good heart. Because deep in your soul you want to be just like everyone else and you can be. You weren’t snotty because you have money. You’re the first person around here that showed that they could be a decent human being.” Jessica took my free hand in hers when I pulled out of the parking spot.

Jessica made me feel important. No woman could compare to how she made me feel and I knew that we were going to have a long-lasting relationship. That we were going to have something that everyone else wanted but couldn’t have.

I drove home slowly, not wanting the night to end. Not wanting to wake up in the morning thinking it had all been a dream when I knew that it was real. A woman like Jessica came along once in a life time and I wasn’t going to do anything to ruin that. I wasn’t going to do anything that would make her think that I was just like all the rest.

“You came to work for my father for a reason. I think it was so that we could meet each other.” I whispered, bringing her hand to my lips and kissing the back of it.

“You’re a gentleman Derek. You really are.” She giggled and without even knowing it she was making me fall in love with her all over again, she was making my heart melt. Not a single woman had been able to do that to me.
