Alpha's Blessing: An M/M Shifter MPreg Romance (Texas Heat Book 3) by Aspen Grey (3)

Juan

The ride to Blue Hole was predictably awkward, as any blind date is before things get started. Mostly we made small talk and joked about how it was working for my parents, but thankfully the ride wasn’t too far, just on the outskirts of town.

Blue Hole was a local swimming spot that had becoming increasingly popular over the years, but when we got there as the sun was going down, most of the crowd had thinned out and it looked like the remaining people were packing up and getting ready to head home.

“Bring your trunks?” I asked as I parked the truck.

“Nah,” Francis chuckled. “I’ll just go in my briefs.”

“You’re not shy, huh?”

Francis shrugged as he stepped out of his work pants to reveal a nice set of legs. “I’ve been called many things, but shy isn’t one of them.”

He was certainly coming out of his shell. I quickly slid out of my jeans and underwear and into a pair of trunks, careful not to let Francis see the goods. I wasn’t particularly shy either, but I didn’t want to lead him on if nothing ended up happening. But I had to admit, he was a good-looking omega, and a little fun never hurt anybody.

As we made our way down the dirt trail towards the water, I examined him more carefully, trying to get a handle on his personality. He was quiet, but I couldn’t help but feel like there was more lurking beneath the surface.

He had abs—nothing crazy, and was in shape but not like someone who hit the gym all the time. And that was fine by me. I liked my omegas a little on the softer side. We reached the water and Francis flashed me a smile.

“Cannonball?” Before I could respond, Francis leapt off the rock, wrapped his arms around his legs and dropped into the clear blue water. Blue Hole was sort of a tiny lagoon with high cliffs on one side and low ground and trees on the other. There was another couple at the other end spending a romantic moment in the water, and a small family heading up the slope back to the parking lot.

Francis’s head came back out of the water grinning like a little kid, and I couldn’t help but smile. Maybe mom was right—maybe I would have a good time this evening.

“Come on in,” he grinned. “The water’s fine.”

Go for it, I thought to myself as I stepped up to the edge of the water. A little fun never hurt anybody!

I shouted louder than I probably should have, and hurled myself into the water, splashing down beside Francis. After spending the day in eighty-five-degree heat, the water was beyond refreshing.

I came up beside Francis and paddled gently, looking into his eyes. He smelled good and was quite the looker. But he was looking at me like he really liked me, and I just wasn’t getting the same vibe from him. But then again, there was nothing wrong with a little harmless fun between the sheets, right? But was that what Francis was looking for?

“Your mom never told me her son was so gorgeous,” he said with a sly grin. There was something behind that expression and it didn’t feel to me like a guy looking for love. “And a total stud.”

“Wow,” I remarked. “You really aren’t shy.”

“I like to get to the point,” Francis replied. “I keep quiet around your folks. Don’t wanna lose my job or anything. But I have to confess,” he said quietly as he paddled closer. “I’m a bit of a freak.”

“Yeah?” I asked, legitimately surprised.

Francis nodded and ran a finger up the inside of my leg, causing my cock to twitch. “You ever notice how swimming just makes you feel a little more…spicy?”

“Yeah…” I nodded.

“Too bad we weren’t skinny dipping.”

Francis glanced around to see if anyone else was looking. The other couple was still far away from us and the family had vanished over the ridge to the parking lot. For all intents and purposes, we were alone.

“You’re bad,” I whispered, feeling my cock begin to grow under my trunks. It was clear by now that Francis wasn’t looking for a mate or anything. This was a sly little bad boy and he had my mom completely fooled.

Hey, as long as that’s all this is…I thought as Francis slid his fingers under my waistband. But just as he moved to take my trunks down, something moved in my peripheral vision. I glanced up at the top of the cliff and saw something that changed my mind.

Two figures stood on the rock, one alpha and one omega. The alpha looked like a total prick, but the omega was like some sweet angel that had come down from Heaven. He hadn’t seen me yet, and I watched as he raised his arms above his head with the poise of a dancer, and dove off the cliff into the water.

“Wow,” Francis remarked, obviously in reference to the dive.

“Yeah,” I nodded, impressed by something else entirely.

The omega surfaced and shook water out of his mess of curly blond hair. He looked back up at his alpha on the cliff above as he dove, slightly less gracefully, then began paddling towards the shore—towards me.

And that’s when I caught it.

His scent. More powerful than any scent I’d ever smelled before—like fresh watermelon but somehow better. It was like an arrow had pierced my chest and embedded a powerful glowing ember there. A tingling sensation flowed out through my limbs making them feel like jelly.

The scent grew stronger and stronger as the omega paddled his way towards the shore. Suddenly, he stopped and spun around, coming face to face with me. I could see by the expression on his face that he was feeling the exact same thing as me.

That’s it! I thought with glee. That’s what I’ve been waiting for!
