Billionaire's Secret Baby: An Older Man Younger Woman Pregnancy Romance by Cassandra Bloom (98)

Epilogue (Elaine)

Even though I had been together with Leo for over a year, sometimes, it still came as a shock when I woke up beside him in bed. I guess I never thought I would end up being the CEO’s girlfriend.

Turning over, I looked at Leo’s sleeping face. Usually, he was so serious-looking with his sharp features, dazzling eyes, and stern expression, but when he slept, he looked so different. His face was relaxed, making him seem like the cuddly cinnamon roll I knew he could be on occasion.

I snuggled a little closer to him, fitting perfectly against the groove of his body. I rested my head on the crook of his arm and thought about how great things had been these last twelve months.

As the memories flashed across my mind, I ran my fingers along his body. He had quite a few scars. A long one ran along his pecks, nearly all the way down to his navel, almost as if he had gone through open-heart surgery. Maybe he had. I didn’t know. On his side was another large scar that didn’t look like it had healed properly. I traced it gently with my finger, wondering what its story was.

I never dared to ask, not wanting to bring up bad memories. After all, if someone like Anthony came from his past, I didn’t think he would want to talk about it.

My fingers ran up his spine, eventually reaching his shoulder where there were smaller scars that had almost faded away. They were probably old.

I moved even closer, my lips getting dangerously close to his. I decided to kiss him.

As I did, his arms wrapped around me, trapping me in his embrace.

“Mmm…” He moaned through the kiss, his tongue tracing my bottom lip, asking for entrance. I parted my lips, his tongue sneaking into my mouth, tangling with mine.

The kiss quickly became heated as he grabbed my hair, tugging on it as he loved to do whenever we were in the moment.

Finally, when we were both completely out of breath, he pulled away. “I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of waking up with you by my side.”

“Good. Because I want to stay here for a very, very long time.”

“Until we’re gray and old?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Even longer than that.”

“Until we’re both ghosts, haunting our children?”

I chuckled. “More likely haunting our cat.”

As if on cue, Frisky, our Calico jumped onto the bed and joined us. I ran my fingers along her thick fur and she arched her back, purring loudly before she looked at Leo, as if demanding him to scratch her as well.

He laughed. “Damn cat.” He scratched her behind the ears.

“You know you love her.”

“That’s right.” He leaned forward and kissed me. “I love you.”

Frisky meowed, getting bored of us. She sauntered out of the room, about to meow at the can opener until we fed her.

“How long have you been awake?”

“Just a few minutes.”

“What have you been doing? Just staring at me?”

“Pretty much.” I laughed. “Can you blame me? I sleep with a god.”

He smirked.

“But, can I ask you something.”

“Sure, go ahead.” He rolled over and pulled me on top of him so I was straddling his body.

“What’s your story?”

“What do you mean?”

I ran my finger along his biggest scar. “Like, how did you get all these scars?”

His face darkened and I instantly regretted asking the question. I was about to say he didn’t have to tell me when he shook his head. “There’s no point talking about the past.” He placed a hand on my cheek and rubbed it ever so gently. “When we have such a bright future ahead of us.”

I blushed deeply at his words.

“You know, I was going to wait and do this at the perfect time, but nothing is ever good enough, so I might as well do it now.” I watched as he reached over, opening the top drawer on the nightstand. He fumbled around, looking for something and I thought we were about to have some early morning fun since he usually kept most of our toys in that nightstand.

But, to my surprise, he pulled out a small black box. I stared at it, the realization not yet clicking in my head.

He opened it and my heart almost stopped when I saw the huge diamond ring that sparkled in the faint light that trickled in through the curtains.

“Elaine, will you marry me?” He asked, a look of utter adoration on his face as he looked into my eyes, waiting for me to answer.

I gasped, my brain refusing to work for a second.

Was this really happening? Was he really asking me to marry him?

“Yes! A thousand times yes.” I hugged him tightly, my arms wrapping around his neck. We kissed and I knew, deep down, that I had truly found the man of my dreams.
