Epilogue

New Year’s Eve
The last week has been magical, to say the least. My parents love him and I love his parents. We are getting along so well. There hasn’t been a single second that we have spent apart. I’ve loved every fucking bit of it.
Tonight, we are going to a party at his parent's house. It’s not a fancy party, just a get together with friends and lots of alcohol. I pull on my favorite jeans and a silky black tank top. I put on some short, heeled boots and a light jacket. Moving all my stuff here was easy. My brothers helped. I didn’t have to do a damn thing. When I come out of our bedroom, Kiernan is already standing there. Wearing a black button-up shirt and dark blue jeans.
“Nice. We are matching,” I say laughing and turning back to the bedroom.
“Where are you going?”
“To change,” I reply.
“No, leave it. You look amazing.”
“Fine. Are your sister’s here yet? Is mine?”
“Erin and Rhiannon are. Siobhán isn’t here yet, but she’s texted that she is on the way.”
“Awesome. Let’s drink the year away,”
By the time I get downstairs, Siobhán is there as is my younger brother Waylon. They are standing in the corner arguing.
“What’s up with them?” I ask both Erin and Rhiannon.
“He thinks her outfit is too revealing.”
“Did they come together?”
“Nope. But I do believe they will be leaving together,” Erin says laughing.
“Oh shit,” I say. In the end, Siobhán asked me to borrow a different dress. We are about the same size. I had to giggle at that one.
“Let’s go, everyone. Mama is making cabbage and ham. If we don’t get there first, it will be all gone. It’s bad luck not to have any.” The O’Toole’s are big believers in luck and I can’t say that I blame them. Kiernan could have died, by all accounts, should have died, but he didn’t. I know we were destined to meet. It’s just crazy that it happened two thousand three hundred and eighty-four miles from home.
We pile into the huge Escalade and drive the three streets over to his parent’s house. I also live in the suburbs now. In the same neighborhood as his parents. My parents live about 2 miles from here, so we are all getting close. I am honestly surprised my parents took it so well. There is no doubt that Kiernan’s charm helped win them over.
Amanda, Kiernan’s mama, welcomes me with a hug. She hands me a beer and then moves on to the next person in line to get a magical hug from her. Siobhán and Waylon are still arguing. I wonder what it’s about this time. She put on a pair of my jeans and a funny t-shirt. Sure, the shirt says “I suck for a buck,” but still, it’s kind of funny.
I start mingling. The next thing I know we are counting down to midnight. My husband kisses me as the ball drops and I forget everything else.
“Happy new year,” I whisper as he pulls his mouth from mine.
“Happy new year.”
“What do we do now?” I ask.
“Let’s get out of here, babe. I want to start the new year off right,” he growls in my ear.
“Oh, yeah? How’s that?”
“Sinking into your tight pussy until you beg me to stop.”
“You know I’ll never do that.”
“I do know that.”
“Should be fun. Let’s go then.”
I didn’t think I was actually going to get a husband when I signed up for that auction. Not only did I get one, but I also got one I loved more than life itself.
We may be impulsive.
We may be crazy.
We may be a lot of things, but we are together and that’s all that matters.
I am so ready to see what this year holds in store for us as well as all the years to come.
