Doctor Single Dad: A Single Dad Romance (No Boundaries Book 2) by Sonia Belier (13)

Paul

Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting.

That was the glamorous surgery that was on the agenda today. And I wasn’t doing it alone.

Since April passed the test a few weeks back, she got the coveted residency that everyone in her class wanted.

It was going to be downright fucking weird.

I distanced myself from her as much as I could since the dinner. Truth was, I still hadn’t found out the culprit of those damn letters. And I was still dead certain that someone had it out for me. As far as I was concerned, I was protecting April from whoever the hell that might have been.

There was a knock on my door and I shifted in my chair.

April no doubt.

She walked in with her lab coat on, her golden locks draped at her side. The heels she was wearing gave her an extra four inches and I could faintly see the silhouette of her buttery smooth curves from behind the coat.

Even with all of the shit that happened between us recently, there was still no way I could possibly resist her body.

I tried to snap out of it.

Cordial Paul…just be cordial.

“Dr. Madison. Glad to see you could make it. Have a seat right here.” I motioned her to the chair in front of my desk. God, I felt so phony talking to her like I wasn’t feeling her tender body just a few weeks ago. But I didn’t know how else to move.

“Hi Dr. Gray. I’m here for rotations.” She took a small elastic band that was on her wrist and wrapped her hair into a messy bun on top of her head.

She was as gorgeous as she’s ever been.

“That’s right, I was expecting you. So let’s go through this.” I got up from my seat and walked over to her with the documentation we needed for the procedure. I was dangerously close to her body and even though it had only been a few weeks, it felt like a damn century.

And I was hungry for her.

“Just follow me and if you’re unsure about anything, stop and ask me okay?”

She nodded her head and smiled confidently.

I swear she was the only woman that could make me melt to the floor like that. And I wasn’t ashamed to admit it either.

We left my office and walked into the surgery room.

I carefully walked April through the procedure as we were operating, and she caught on quickly. I wasn’t surprised at all. The woman was born to do this shit. It was the thing that made me fall for her in the first place.

“Alright, so we’re going to be bypassing the clogged artery Dr. Madison. I need you to make an incision here so we can graft this artery, to that one there.”

“I’m a couple steps ahead of you there, Dr. Gray.”

Normally, a resident like April would’ve felt like a challenge to my ego. But this was just turning me on. Fiery and quick-witted.

As if there was any more reason needed to prove to me how amazing this woman was.

Fuck…just get through this operation Paul.

The rest of the operation went on like that. April moving swiftly and expertly like she’d been doing this her whole life. I could feel the stares from the Med Techs, probably silently joking about how I’d definitely be getting replaced at the hospital.

Yeah. Sure.

When the operation was complete and we were all cleaned up, I called April back to my office.

Knocking on the door gently, she opened it softly and came in. Damn, she was even more irresistible with her hair pinned up and glasses on.

I tried to bring myself back down to Earth.

“I wanted to tell you April, you smashed that surgery earlier. I’m really impressed with you.”

Did I sound strange?

I definitely sounded fucking strange. We knew each other, we had sex, I was falling for her…We were not strangers

All of my earlier bravado, down the drain.

I couldn’t resist the thoughts that were swirling uncontrollably through my dazed mind. Some documents on my desk provided a good distraction from staring into those hypnotizing emerald eyes.

“It’s fair to say that your guidance was invaluable Dr. Gray. I’m enjoying being a part of your surgical team. It really is an honor.” She spoke while discreetly closing the door behind her. Seems like we were both acting. We never really cleared the air about anything since she got to the hospital.

Things were getting very fucking weird.

“I want to be completely transparent Paul. It’s going to be damn near impossible to focus on work with you because of what happened. I can’t do this with you. I can’t stand here and pretend like we never had anything. Especially when you never explained to me why you even cut me off in the first place. I haven’t seen Dylan in weeks.”

I expected her to drop the bomb first, but I didn’t expect it to sting quite as much as it did.

“What do you mean?”

A grade-a stupid ass question by yours truly.

Of course I knew what she meant. And I felt the same. But I didn’t think it was safe to let her back in yet. And I didn’t want to scare her. I cared too much about her. If only she could see that’s why I was being such a hardass about it.

“What I’m trying to say is that either you should explain to me why you’re treating me this way, or we should just stop this all together. Forget about everything we had so we can both move on with our careers.”

Her words didn’t match her actions at all.

She was throwing her lab coat to the lounge chaise in my office. Walking closer to my desk and placing her hands on top of them. If I didn’t know any better I would think she was talking like this for formality's sake. You know, in case someone was leaning their ear on my office door and eavesdropping?

“What if I don’t listen to you. What if I have a very good fucking reason for cutting you off?” I rose from my seat and walked closer to her. “What if it was a reason that there was no way in hell you could understand?”

It only took about five seconds before I pulled her waist to me and kissed her long and hard. There was a quiet little moan that tried to creep out of her mouth. But I smothered it with my lips on hers. She was going to find out that there was absolutely no turning back. She kissed me back harder reaching for the buttons of my coat.

“I never wanted to cut you off April. I never wanted to do that to you” I whispered into her ear and I could feel her body shaking underneath me.

“Then why did you do it? Why did you leave me in the fucking dark??”

I wasn’t ready to answer that yet.

I cupped her cheeks and took her to my mouth again to shut her up.

A loud knocking on the office door broke us from our embrace.

Thank god Aprils reflexes were good. She pushed me to the desk with a quickness as she grabbed her coat and opened the door all in a few quick motions.

I was fucking relieved to see Gabe standing at the door.

“Dr.’s, I have some patient documentation I want you to look at if you two can keep your hands off each other for a second. Dr. Gray, some of these are older, but it would be good for Dr. Madison to see how we handle paperwork around here.”

Even I’ll admit that the smug look on Gabe’s face was hilarious. He now had some “insider knowledge”, something she could totally blackmail me for. I didn’t really care though. I had nothing to hide being with April. I reached over to Gabe and took the sizeable stack of papers.

“Thanks Gabe. Anything else you need?”

“Nope, that’s all! I’ll see you both later!”

When Gabe exited the room April looked at me and we almost burst into laughter.

“Paul, let’s go over some of this paperwork hmm?” April gave me a wink and scanned the papers.

“Yeah, that would probably be a good idea before it gets too hot in here.”

I reached over and pulled the first set of papers from the stack and ran through the filing with April. This was certainly the part of being a surgeon that I hated. HIPAA laws, and filing, and tedious office work.

Bleh.

Give me a heart. I can fix it.

Give me a stack of paperwork. I’ll barf.

And it was even harder to do when all I could think about was laying her on my desk and giving her what I’ve been wanting to for fucking weeks.

“Dylan is still with his grandma. Don’t know why they give elementary school kids such long vacations.” I made some crummy small talk hoping that April would get the idea.

“So your snazzy condo should be completely empty right?” She twirled her hair around her finger and tried to play innocent.

“Yeah, it is. I say after this shift you come back with me tonight.”

“You’ve got yourself a deal Dr. Gray.”

* * *

We almost slammed through the front door and I nearly ripped her blouse right off her golden skin.

I needed her. I had a hunger that needed to be satisfied now. I wasn’t going to let her leave without giving her everything.

I kissed her all over her body down to her collarbone. She moaned and moaned and moaned griping my body with as strong a hold as she could manage with her petite hands.

Ripping that fire engine red lace bra from her chest, I grabbed both of her ample tits in my hand and squeezed them pinching on her taut nipples firmly.

She didn’t even know how long I waited to do this to her again.

I took one of those candy-coated nipples in my mouth and sucked them like I was about to die of thirst. Just the feeling of her skin on my tongue was making my cock rock solid.

April fumbled about to undo the buttons on my top and grunted in frustration. “Why do you always have to wear these annoying shirts?”

“Just to make it that much harder for you.” She got the shirt undone and I scooped her up by her legs and carried her to the white leather sofa in the middle of the living room. Her tits brush against my skin.

Every little thing was making me go insane.

I laid her on the sofa and lowered my body over her. Coming back in for another kiss, this time I nibble her lips and she chuckled lightly. The pencil skirt she was wearing was fucking sexy as hell, but right now it needed to be gone. I dragged the pinstripe fabric from her hips, down to her ankles.

What a perfect body

I stood back for a second to admire just how flawless her body was. And I was going to have all of it right now.

Her silk panties were pushed to the side and I brought my tongue along the slick slits of her pussy. Her skin was soft and sweet and I kept my hands busy by unfastening my belt. Rummaging around on the couch trying to find a spot for her hands, she settled with them flailing around aimlessly in my hair.

For the first time since I had the pleasure of tasting her sweet body, I found myself not just wanting the raw feeling of it. I wanted her emotions too. Her everything.

Well, I’m one greedy man and I always get what I want.

My pants fell down to my waist and I leaned my head up from in between her legs.

April’s body was getting hotter and the floral scent of her perfume was wafting all in the air the more turned on she got.

My heart was beating through my chest. This adrenaline was insane.

“Paul don’t stop, I need you inside of me.”

I rubbed the tip of my cock against the entrance of her pussy and pressed it in ever so slowly. She sighed and it sounded like a garbled form of a sexy moan and impatience. She didn’t like to be teased but I sure as hell liked to see her struggle.

“Tell me how bad you want it, April.” I stroked my cock a few times while I watched her wince under my body with this longing on her face.

“Bad enough to beg.”

“Bingo.”

I plunged my throbbing cock deep into her walls and our voices muffled each other’s moans. She wrapped her legs around my waist and pulled my body closer to her, pushing me deeper inside of her. I couldn’t even keep my eyes open; the feeling of her tightness surrounding me was that mind-blowing.
