Her Rogue Dragon: Paranormal Dragon Shifter Romance (Dragons of Giresun Book 5) by Suzanne Roslyn (15)

Chapter Fifteen

Olivia heard voices. Outside in the garden, sounds of angry men’s voices drifted in the air. Getting up from her spot next to Blake Beuwolf’s wife, Emily, her wrist tingled.

“I think Jacques is here.” Her body flushed not waiting to go find him.

Emily grabbed wrist. “I’ll go with you. The last thing we need is the two of them talking with their fist.”

Olivia reached down, helping Emily raise to her feet with a sleeping infant in her arms. For the past several days, since coming to the island and staying at Giresun manor, Olivia felt an instant friendship with Emily.

She watched as Emily skillfully adjusted the sleeping baby in her arms, laying the child’s ear to her heart. One day, Olivia hoped she and Jacques could have a family like Emily and Blake.

She wouldn’t think of her father or how long they would have to hide and wait until things blew over. On the other side of the palms and lush ferns dividing them between the garden and the beach, Olivia spotted Jacque’s strong back.

“I don’t see any fist yet.”

“Do you really think Blake would sock him one?” Olivia knew Jacques and Emily were cousins. And after an interesting dinner last evening consisting of the couple and the other members of the band living there on the island, she had gained a better understanding of their current situation.

While every fiber of her being screamed for her to run and wrap her arms around Jacques, his defensive stance held her back.

“Blake won’t promise, but he knows we’re watching.” Emily rocked back and forth shifting her weight to keep a steady motion for her baby.

“How did you talk to him?” Then Olivia snapped her fingers. “That’s right. It’s that dragon bond thing you all explained the other night.”

Emily laughed, softly. “You’ll have it with Jacques. It grows and gets stronger the deeper your bond goes.”

“Like having babies?” Olivia left her eyes drop to Emily’s flat belly. She’d been privy to the information when Blake brought her to the island. One embrace of his wife and Blake had blurted out, “You’re pregnant.”

Olivia might not ever be able to hide a secret from her dragon mate, good or bad. She grinned wickedly, oh the fun she’d have with him to see how long it would take him to discover not only what she thought, but the changes her body would endure in their lovemaking.

She could hear Blake yelling at her mate, hear Jacques retorts and it made her tattoo glow and burn. She held her wrist trying to stop the pain.

“I did what I had to do.” Jacques held out the other silver horn to Blake. “Take it.”

“I want to know where she is.”

“You’ll never reach her, not in a thousand years,” Jacques said.

Blake grabbed the horn, yanked it from Jacques hold, and at the same time his other hand curled into a fist. Olivia winced, feeling the sudden shock spasm through her body as Jacques head whipped to the side from the impact of Blake’s knuckles.

“Stop it!” Olivia ran to Jacques, grabbing his arm before he could strike back at Blake. “Stop… please…”

Wide-eyed, with blood trickling from the corner of his lip, Jacques stumbled back. “Olivia.”

“Stay out of this,” Blake told her, his face scowled as he looked in the direction of Emily walking towards them.

“You’re here?” Jacques grabbed hold of her and wrapped his arms around her. “You knew she was here?”

Blake smirked. “Of course.”

“And he would have told you right after he flatted your arse for taking away his right to challenge Margaret.” Emily said softly, not wanting her voice to startle the baby.

“You did what?” Olivia jerked back in his arms. “Is that why you never showed up at the hotel?”

“You got in a helicopter and flew away.” Jacques gazed at her, his brows drawn together. She could feel his confusion.

She reached up and wiped the blood from his chin. “Not me. Marissa.”

Blake relaxed as Emily stepped over beside him, leaned her head against his arm and batted her lashes at him. “I think we all have some explaining to do.”

Olivia caught the look in Emily’s eye, woman to woman, she knew that look well enough. “I’ll go first.”

Emily tugged Blake toward the house, “We need to put this little one down, and then we can all sit down and sort this out in a more peaceful manner.”

Blake growled, his dragon eyes flashing, and Olivia put her hand on Jacques chest to hold him back. His dragon growling in return. Olivia held him at bay as the couple walked way, her hand warming against the thump of his heart.

Waiting for enough distance between them, Olivia couldn’t stand there and touch him a moment longer without pulling his head forward so her lips could press against his in a much yearned for kiss.

Jacques groaned, his shoulders slumped, and he pulled her in closer. His dragon stopped rumbling and sounded more like a purring as her mouth opened inviting his tongue in for a petting.

He kissed her until she couldn’t breathe, and then he kissed her face and her neck. She lost track of how long they shared kisses. The mark on her wrist ceased it’s burning and she shoved her hands into the back of his hair keeping those hot demanding lips of his locked with hers.

I was going out of my mind trying to find you. When your father said you weren’t there…

Olivia jumped back. “My father? You want to my father?”

Jacques rubbed his nose against hers. “I saw you leave. What else was I supposed to do?”

The plan had been so perfect, it had been too perfect. Jacques had seen Marissa get on the helicopter. He thought it was here. Olivia hugged him, laid the side of her face against his shoulder. “I’m so sorry.”

“Now that I found you, Princess, that’s all that matters.” Jacques captured her lips for another kiss. Her body warmed against him, her secret garden grew damp.

“I’m surprise you made it here after seeing my father first.” She sighed as his kisses went to her neck and he kissed the tender spot on the curve of her shoulder where he’d bitten her during their lovemaking the first time.

Her body trembled in response. As sure as Blake had been able to tell Emily carried his child, so would Jacque know her secret garden unlocked for him.

“Your father and I have an understanding, which includes you as my mate.”

That didn’t sound like her father. “What did you give him?”

Jacques placed his hands around her face, “The same thing I gave Blake.”

She looked into those sexy dragon shifter eyes, hooded with his lust and desire for her. But deeper within those narrow slits his dragon’s heart reached for her. She didn’t need to hear his words, she could hear it from her heart.

So, this is the connection human mates shared with their dragons. “What am I going to do with you, my rogue dragon?”

Love me.

And do you love me? Olivia held her breath.

More than you’ll ever know.

She grinned. “Then you’re in luck my father taught me how to be diplomatic.”
