Ineq (Dragons Of Kelon) (A Sci Fi Alien Weredragon Romance) by Maia Starr (10)

CHAPTER TEN

CAPTAIN INEQ SHUN

I sat in the pilot’s chair We were approaching Kelon. Alexandra sat beside me silently. She had said very little since we came out of the bedroom. I think she was confused by the encounter. I, on the other hand, was very happy. Being with her was unlike any feeling I had ever had before. I had experienced human females in my time, for fun, but nothing was like this. I think it was because I knew that she was the one, the one destined to be my mate forever, that made it different. Previously the human females I had been with were the ones on Kelon that were there for the warriors to have fun with until they found a mate. This was very different and brought a lot of emotion and hunger inside of me for this human female named Alexandra. But she sat there silent; she was probably worried about her friend, as she should be. As soon as I could, we would try to get her back; I would do it for her. I would do it for Alexandra.

“We are approaching Kelon. I am going to take her out of hyperspeed now,” I said out loud.

“We are? Oh good. The sooner we arrived, the sooner you can get your king to let you get Camilla.”

“Yes, my thoughts exactly. As soon as we arrive, I will show you to a place where you can rest. We have many guest homes for newly arrived humans to get acclimated to the planet. There will be one for you where you can bathe and call it your home until…”

“Until what?” she said looking at me.

“Until we are wed, and you are officially my wife,” I said with a smile.

She gasped. “Wife? What?”

Clang! Clank! The sounds came from the back of the ship.

“It must be the commander. He is awake. I forgot that I had him still strapped in so that he didn't get hurt if the ship banked.”

We both got up from our seats and went to the sleeping room. The commander was awake but groggy.

“I am so glad to see you conscious again, my friend,” I said unstrapping the straps. Alexandra poured a cup of water and handed it to him. He drank it greedily.

“Camilla. Where is she?” I looked at Alexandra.

“Captain?”

“I could not save her,” I said. He immediately sat up. But he was dizzy and laid back down immediately. “What? Where is she? Let me know; I will go look for her,” he said.

“We left hours ago. We are arriving on Kelon in half an hour.”

“You left her? Why? How could you do that? Let me go; I will go find her on my own,” he spoke wildly.

“I had no choice. We were outnumbered by the Aeriwanas. We would all be in their possession right now if I had not left. At least this way we can regroup on Kelon and gather a bigger force. We can go get her with more numbers,” I said trying to reason with him. He struggled to get out of bed. He was very angry.

“No, you are not fit to stand. You took a beating. I thought you were going to die. Wait a few more minutes, and you will be in the hands of a healer. If you want to rescue your Camilla, then you must be strong and healed.”

He lay back frustrated. He did not like hearing that I was right about it.

“She will never forgive me,” he said.

“I know how you feel. I feel the same way, trust me. I am very worried about my friend, she is like a sister to me,” Alexandra said to him giving him more water. He looked at her and knew that she must be feeling just as worried as he was and found some solace in that.

“I just took the ship out of hyperspeed. I need to get back to the chair and bring us in. Alexandra will help you, but don't get out of bed. I don't think you understand how badly wounded you are. You are still in shock,” I said as I left the room. I went back to the chair and quickly made the preparations for landing. I opened a radio communication.

“This is Captain Ineq Shun. I am entering Kelon in twenty minutes. I have a wounded warrior on board. He needs healer attention immediately. Prepare for our arrival,” I said.

“Yes, Captain. Arrangements will be made immediately,” the response said.

I steered the ship toward the blue and green planet, my home.

“Oh, my. Is that it? Is that Kelon?” Alexandra said behind me.

“Yes, is it not beautiful?”

“Yes, it is. It looks a lot like Earth, only bluer.”

“Yes, it is a water planet. We live on a series of islands. We are water creatures. You will see.”

“Hurry, the commander passed out again. He does need attention,” she said, taking a seat next to me.

“I have made the arrangements for the healers to be at the landing port when we arrive. He will be seen immediately.”

“Good, I am ready to see it. I am ready to see this place you want me to call home,” she said.
