Omega Heart: M/M MPreg Shifter Romance (Dirge Omegaverse Book 5) by Esme Beal (14)

TRISTAN

Most of my time was spent by Julius’s side while he recovered from his injuries. I changed his bandages. I applied salve to make the wounds heal faster and relieve him from the pain. I made sure fire continued to burn so that his body stayed warm.

Knox and the rest of the deer herd were gracious enough to provide me with everything Julius and I needed. The food and water were endless, so Julius was never hungry or thirsty. It appeared that the camp was as self-sufficient as any other group I’d ever come across.

The expedition did fine making ends meet. Bears like Goro were built to survive all of the conditions of the Timberlands, so it was no wonder they didn’t mind staying out here for longer than we intended. If anything, they probably welcomed the opportunity to get away from the life they were so used to in the city.

Julius was feeling better after the fight with Mordecai but he was in no condition to head back on the long journey to Dirge. I would have been just fine staying out here forever if it meant that Julius was well. But his strength was growing and I knew that it was only a matter of time until we headed back to the city.

The snowstorm came. The camp was well-prepared for it. Knox was gracious enough to give Julius and I our own tent. I was alone with Julius with the snow falling just outside. I could almost feel the cold near the entrance to the tent but the cloths around me and the fire burning next to me was more than adequate.

I looked at Julius as he rested peacefully underneath a layer of blankets. His eyes were closed but I knew he was awake because of how deep his breaths were.

I huddled next to the fire for warmth with my arms wrapped around my knees.

“How is the camp?”

The sound of Julius’s voice startled me slightly.

“What?” I said.

“The camp. How are they doing?”

“You’re recovering from serious injuries in the middle of a snowstorm and you’re asking me about the rest of the camp?”

“Is something wrong?”

I chuckled at Julius’s insistence.

“They’re fine,” I said. “Knox runs an efficient camp. The herd has lived out here for centuries. Generations of deer have survived the snow. I figure the lead Alpha knows better than anybody else how to prepare for the weather.”

“I’m sure he knows how to survive but it never hurts to improve. Getting stuck inside of a tent all day can cause some other problems besides the bitter cold outside.”

“Like what?” I asked, an eyebrow raised in curiosity.

“Like being stuck inside of a tent all day. Being confined to the same spot for such a long time. Only being able to leave when it’s completely dire. I can’t imagine it’s any fun for them.”

“Knox is a good Alpha. The deer are good people, as well. But I don’t think they care too much about having fun when their priority is just surviving the snow.”

“What about back at the orphanage?”

“What about it?”

“The Omegas are mostly confined to the shelter.”

“It’s a big shelter. They have plenty of room to move around and play.”

“That’s just it. I’m sure they’re all grateful to have a roof over their heads but isn’t it nicer that they’re able to enjoy themselves and play?”

Julius slowly peeked his eyes open. A slight smirk formed on his lips. I immediately giggled at the sight of his smugness.

“You’re right,” I said. “I suppose it’s nice to have something a little extra once you’ve got your basic needs out of the way. But I still don’t think the herd is worried about not having any fun while they’re hunkered down in the snow.”

“What about you?”

Me? What about me?”

“You work all day at the shelter. You spend time with the Omegas. There are no other people in your life from what I saw. How do you have fun?”

“I…”

I thought of a response but nothing came to me. Julius’s question only left me confused.

“Where is this coming from?” I asked.

“What do you mean?”

“Asking me all of these questions,” I said with a chuckle.

“We’re stuck in this tent until the snow passes. I’m just trying to have some… fun.”

Having to hunker down in the middle of a snowstorm was never my idea of fun. One of the nicest things about Dirge was that the weather was never as brutal.

Being out here now with Julius, despite the conditions, made me forget about all of the luxuries back in the city. All I needed was him by my side like he was now.

“I don’t know,” I said with a shrug. “The Omegas at the orphanage mean everything to me. I enjoy playing with them. There’s nothing like a young wolf trying to gnaw on your limbs.”

“I’ve had that experience before. It’s quite exhausting.”

“But fun. That brings me more joy than anything. And there are so many Omegas, there’s always something to do at the shelter. There’s nothing else… There’s nothing else that I could do that would be as fun.”

Julius stared at me with a kind smile. The flames cast a light on his face that created shadows on his cheeks and strong jaw. They made him more strikingly handsome than he already was.

I reached out and put my hand on top of his. Normally, I would’ve been intimidated by an Alpha like him but Julius made me feel so comfortable.

“Thank you for bringing me out here,” I said.

“You’ve done a lot. I’ve been fortunate to have you on my journey so far.”

“It really means a lot to me. Knowing that the Omegas out here in the Timberlands will be able to freely roam through the forest and come to Dirge is something I never thought possible.”

“I couldn’t have done it without you, Tristan.”

He flipped his hand over and squeezed my palm. I swallowed from all of the feelings swirling around in my stomach.

The feeling didn’t go away though. It only grew stronger. It spread from my stomach and started rising into my chest and neared my throat. I swallowed again but it didn’t help. I coughed as I noticed the sweat dripping from my brow. My eyes blinked uncontrollably. My heart beat harder in my chest.

“No…”

Julius’s eyes widened.

“Tristan? Tristan, are you all right?”

“No…”

I shifted my eyes around the tent like I was trying to wake myself up from a dream. But I knew this was real. The feeling inside of me was too strong to ignore.

“Tristan?”

Julius pushed his covers off and sat up straight. I looked away from him and closed my eyes, trying to maintain my focus.

“Tristan, tell me—”

“Heat,” I gasped. “I’m in heat.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes. I… I’ve experienced this before.”

“I have to do something—”

“No, no!”

I put my hands up as he tried to move closer to me.

“I’ve experienced this before. This… This feeling… It will subside… I know it will…”

“How long will it take?”

“Three days. That’s how long it took last time.”

I crawled onto all fours and slowly moved away from Julius. The scent of his pheromones was making me hurt. I couldn’t let him get near me.

“Tristan…”

“I’ll be all right. It will pass.”

“We’ll be stuck here until the snow passes.”

“Good. I will wait out my heat and the snow.”

“Tristan, you’re in pain. I can’t let you stay in pain for three days. It wouldn’t be right.”

“I can’t…”

I opened my eyes and looked at him. The feral intensity building up inside of him. He was an Alpha. He couldn’t deny himself an Omega in heat. Being so close to him, I wanted him just as bad as I knew he wanted me.

“It’s all right,” Julius said. “Let me…”

“You can’t stop it. The only way for you to end it would be to…”

I didn’t finish. Even though my senses were being overwhelmed, I still felt slightly embarrassed.

“I want it…” Julius said. “I want you. Even if it means filling you with my seed and getting you pregnant.”

“I… I…”

I couldn’t stop him. That damn look in his eyes. I was desperate but I no longer tried fighting it.

“Okay,” I said with a nod.

He was on me quickly. Already on all fours, I presented myself to him. The fluids leaking out of my asshole dripped down the insides of my thighs.

Julius mounted me, pressing his chest to my back. His hard muscles on top of me only made my desire for him burn even hotter.

I felt the heat of his cock pressing against my wet entrance.

“Tristan…”

“Give it to me, Alpha. Fill me with your seed—Ahh!”

I cried out as he suddenly plunged his cock into me. He was so thick and so hard. My insides stretched out to accommodate his size.

The slickness of my walls made it easier for him to slide in and out of me. Julius pounded me with the fury of a man who was desperate to release himself into me.

I closed my eyes and enjoyed the feeling. I kept my ass up in the air and presented to him.

He leaned even closer to me and mounted himself even higher on me. He got just the right angle so he could dig into me so deep that it felt like my insides were being ripped apart.

I didn’t care what he would do at this point. It felt so good. The pain from my heat was gone, replaced by a pleasure only an Alpha like Julius could give to me.

I peeked my eyes open and stared at the side of the tent. The flames cast a shadow on the walls of the two of us. Me, bent over and presented to him. Julius, on top of me and driving into me like the wild Alpha that he was now. Two men consumed by our lust for one another. Nothing could tear us apart.

“I want you,” he grunted. “I want to make you feel good, Omega.”

“No… Don’t say that… I… I should be the one to please you.”

“I will make you feel as good as me. Just…”

His voice was shaky. He pounded me so hard that I knew he was close to his end.

“Come inside of me, Alpha. Come inside of me. Give me your seed. I want it, Alpha. Please…”

“Omega… Tristan… I… I’m coming…”

“Come! Give it to me!”

He fired his cock into me rapidly until burying himself deep inside. His body trembled. His cock throbbed. Thick spurts of cum splashed against my walls.

I tightened my asshole around him, milking him for every drop of seed.

“Oh… God…”

I moaned in ecstasy. The wetness filling my insides drenched me completely. Everything about having Julius was stirring my own desire.

He kept going. More and more of his seed spilled out of him. I remained on all fours and took it, not wanting it to end.

Just when I thought it was over, I felt Julius still inside of me.

I turned my head up. I looked into his eyes and saw that there was still more to come.
