Omega On Tap: A Non Shifter Alpha Omega MPreg Romance (Oak Grove Book 1) by Aria Grace, Lorelei M. Hart (6)

Kaden

What the fuck was I thinking?

That’s right… I was busy letting the scent and the pheromones guide me until I was naked and begging for him to take me instead of doing what I was there to do—sell my stupid brother’s beer.

And as his knot filled me, I started to run through the list of reasons why I sucked as a human being through my head.

“You with me?” Mitch asked as we tried to squirm to a more comfortable position. The desk had been perfect for fucking, but now that we were spent and joined together for a few minutes, the awkwardness of the surface for all non-sex uses was amplified.

“Yeah. Sorry. Just—you know.”

“Oh, I know.” He nipped at my ear from behind, his chest pressed against my back as his knot filled me so completely.

I was glad he knew because I sure as shit didn’t.

“I made a mess.”

“We made a mess. A beautiful mess.” Mitch was not feeling the same regret that was quickly building in me if his words were any indication.

Before I could come up with a decent reply, someone began pounding on the door. I tensed up, his knot hitting me in all the wrong places for my let me get dressed before they barge in state of mind.

“What?” Mitch barked, his body turning slightly and causing my cock to stir unsolicited. Damn pheromones.

“Dirty Shot.”

That was all I heard, but I had no idea what it mean. But apparently it meant something to Mitch because the next thing I knew, Mitch was cursing under his breath.

“I need to go. Like now. Tell me everything gross and awful.” I’d have laughed if he didn’t sound dead serious.

“What is a Dirty Shot?”

“It means some alphahole is making an omega feel so unsafe that I need to intervene.” He squirmed, and I could feel his knot loosening inside me. As much as I hated for that to happen, I knew I needed to make it more so.

“Damn, people suck. You should fill a pit—” I tried to think of the grossest concoction ever but my lameness prevailed. “With maggots and compost and throw the alpha in there naked.”

He slipped out of me, actually tugged out because he wasn’t fully deflated, before I could add the fire ants. Cause, yeah, I was being lame.

“Thank you for understanding and remind me to never piss you off.” He pulled on his clothing as he headed to the door. “Take all the time you need.”

And just like that, he was gone.

I slowly got dressed, and after finding a box of cleansing wipes, I cleaned off the desk, the scent of the bleach alternative filling my nose and pushing out the scent of the alpha who’d managed to make me come so completely undone.

I stood there after the place was cleaned up enough for me not to be embarrassed and just looked at the door. I didn’t expect him to come back so soon...or really at all. His “take all the time you need” comment was more a courtesy than an actual offer. No, it was a one and done. I’d known it going in, and aside from the slacking in responsibilities part when it came to my brother, I’d do it all over again.

I headed out, twisting the lock on the door behind me. I wasn't sure if it needed to be locked, but had it been mine, I’d have locked it. So, lock it I did, and then I slid my hands into my pockets, as was my nervous habit, to find that my keys weren’t in there. Brilliant. I’d left my fucking keys in the office. I was going to look like a super needy omega when I had to hunt him down at the end of the night.

But it wasn’t the time. No, first I needed to get my brother’s beer noticed. I very much did not want to explain to him how we were doing really well until I decided an alpha smelled good, and I wanted to take him out for a test drive.

I headed back to the table, which was now completely vacant. They all were. Sure, the bar was crowded, but the tables were all empty except for the signs.

No samples. No boxes. No people peddling beer. Fuck me. It was over.

“Excuse me,” I called to the waiter who was walking by. He kept walking by.

I sighed and worked my way through the crowd to the bar. Someone there would know what was up. My brother was going to kick my ass. Although it would serve him right since he should’ve been the one doing this in the first place.

Although, if he had been, I’d have never met Mitch and had the best sex of my life.

My head was officially a mess.

As I reached the bar, I stood by an open spot, hoping to gather the attention of the bartender, but just as I thought I caught his eye, he climbed up onto the bar and began to shout.

“All right you drunkards.” His teasing was met with whistles and cheers. “You ready to see which beer will flow from our cherished tap for the next year?

More cheering filled the room, and I resisted the urge to cover my ears. Everyone in the room began to migrate toward the bar until I was mushed up against the counter.

“This quarter’s winner is—hmmm, do you really want to know?”

A balled up napkin hit him in the head, and when I glanced over to see where it came from, it was none-other than Mitch.

Relief filled me.

I hadn’t even recognized the ball in my stomach as concern over his safety after the Dirty Shot thing until I saw him both fine and smiling.

“My brother is a jerk. Who agrees?” Hoots and hollers abounded. This was definitely a regulars kind of bar from the way everyone was being so playful and buying in to the attempt at entertainment that was taking place.

The crowd began to chant. One person became two, and two became...all of them. “Winner. Winner. Winner.”

The guy on the table held his hand up. “The winner by only five votes is—drum roll please—” Of course, people began to pound on their tables and thighs, giving him said drum roll. “For the fifth year in a row...”

My ears shut down. We lost. I was officially a dead man.
