Paranormal Dating Agency: Bear Naked (Kindle Worlds Novella) by LeTeisha Newton (3)

If this date didn’t work, Ally was going to sign up for another one just to get the perks. She stretched her legs in her first-class seat on the plane, and giggled. A driver picked her up at promptly eight in the morning to take her to the airport. She’d been warned to dress very warm and make sure the clothes she brought with her reflected that. When she saw on her plane ticket she’d be traveling to Alaska, she was happy her cold-natured self packed the heavy artillery. Alaska! She’d never been, but was always fascinated with the snowy landscape she’d seen in pictures. Hopefully she’d have a couple of shifters to keep her nice and warm while she was there.

She chuckled and opened her laptop. She wouldn’t be posting until she hit Wi-Fi once she landed, but she wanted to write about her feelings and what she saw out the window of her aisle seat. Once again, first-class ruled.

#HearMeRoar Goes to Alaska

Hey Lovies!

I’m coming to you from my airplane seat and I’m stoked. Let me say that meeting the owner of Paranormal Dating Agency was amazing. It doesn’t matter what happens after all of this, I’d recommend her to anyone needing help. I swear, she missed her calling as a psychiatrist. And she talked yours truly into boarding a plane to Alaska. ALASKA! Yes, you read that right. I don’t know much about who I’m going to see on my month-long stay. She didn’t want to give me many details, and first I worried about that. How am I to get excited about dates when I didn’t even know who I’d be meeting? But the owner (redacted for privacy) smoothed all that over. She did her homework, on top of that. We live in a world where the internet reaches more people than ever before (And I love it, obviously) and this can mean a lot for businesses. It can make, or break, an owner’s dream. I respect her for letting me record all that happens along this wild ride, and letting you all come with me.

How do I feel about the dates?

I’m not so sure yet. I mean, I don’t know much. The most I have is I’m going to spend a month, all expenses paid, in Kodiak, Alaska and have several weeks of dates to really get to know my partner. As you know, PDA deals with pairing shifters up with humans. Other than the owner of PDA, I’ve never had the pleasure of personally knowing any shifters, so this will be a first. Stay tuned with me on this endeavor. I’ll admit, I’m very intrigued.

Will I find true love?

Smooches xoxo

Ally

Ally closed her laptop down after saving her blog post file and stared out the window. The plane coasted above white fluffy clouds and she looked down at her black jeans, white tank top, red cashmere sweater, and thick tan boots. She hadn’t gone for knock-em-out sexy and run the risk of freezing her tits off. Instead she went for a nice silhouette. They’d see plenty of her wide hips, smaller waist, and thick thighs in the get up and she figured that would be a wonderful place to start. She applied light makeup, never a huge fan of the stuff in the first place, but wanted her dark eyes to pop and her lips plump. Her wild mane of curls fell loose around her shoulders.

Growing up, she’d hated the curls that tangled and frizzed at the drop of a dime. The thick strands had a mind of their own, much like her body, and she grew to appreciate both in adulthood. Once she’d learned to tame both by letting them be, she found that she fought with both a lot less. She popped a few honey-roasted peanuts in her mouth when her stomach rumbled and relaxed into her seat. Here went nothing.

Freaking Cold!

There was no reason to be this cold anywhere in the world. Her first deep breath froze her lungs and she coughed to dispel the ice.

“Watch your step,” the attendant told her.

After flying in to Los Angeles, she’d had a short layover before boarding a flight to Anchorage. From there she’d gotten on a charter flight to head into Kodiak, and she’d realized she’d be on an island. She’d published her blog post in L.A. to get it up before seeing Alaska for the first time. She was half tempted to update it with some unflattering words about the temperature drop.

“Stupid cold.”

Ally wrestled with her carry-on luggage as she crossed the tarmac into the main building of the airport. Now to get the rest of her luggage and then she’d have someone here to take her to her destination. Except her luggage was delayed.

As in, twenty-four-hour delay.

“Wait, I’ll have to come out here tomorrow to pick up my stuff?” she asked.

“I’m sorry. All the luggage can’t be put on the charter plane. The flight bringing the extra gear over was delayed due to inclement weather. Once the storm blows over, the flight will come in.”

“What am I supposed to do without my things until then?” Ally raged.

She had her laptop, toiletries and one change of clothes in her carry on, but that was it. She only brought her delicate stuff with her when she flew. She couldn’t very well come back to the airport in the silky teddy she packed to rest in tonight, or the t-shirt and jeans she’d figured she’d be wearing around a heated house.

“We will call all passengers as soon as we have word their things are on the way,” the harried attendant returned.

Another passenger, this one in a suit, barged into her and Ally stumbled to the side.

“Unacceptable. I have an important business meeting here, and I need the things I brought. You’ll find a way to get my luggage to this backward-ass town, right now.”

Oh. Hell. No.

“Excuse me,” Ally gritted out.

The blond man glared down her, and turned his nose up. “Move it, fatty. I’ve got business here.”

“You son of a—”

A roar filled the room and everyone froze, including Mr. About-to-Get-His-Ass-Kicked. The attendant sighed, her whole body relaxing. She bowed her head slightly.

“Chief,” she whispered. And if a woman could fall into trebling desire, she did. Ally wondered at her change.

A large, warm hand curled around Ally’s neck and pulled her against a rock-hard body that dwarfed her. Not easy with her size or her five-foot-seven height. She looked up, dumbfounded, into emerald eyes that glowed with rage.

Holy. Fuck.

His dark hair was shaggy and hung down in his face a bit, but it didn’t hide the strong lines of his face the way his full lips pulled into a firm line.

“Tell me if he hurt you,” he demanded.

She couldn’t think. Her mind short-circuited, and all the blood in her body rushed to her vagina. His fingers tightened on her neck and she gasped, the sensation of his touch burning through her.

“Answer me.”

“No,” she finally managed. “He didn’t hurt me.”

The man looked behind him at another man who glared at the guy who rammed into her and Ally’s gaze followed his. Her knees went weak. Cliché, but it happened. If Emerald Eyes hadn’t been holding her against him, she’d have slid into a puddle of goo at his feet. The second man’s gaze rivaled the sky, a crystalline blue. His hair was buzzed short to his scalp and a five o’clock shadow covered his jaw. Her toes curled in her boots as his hot gaze traveled down her body. He touched her, he had to. Everywhere his gaze went came alive, blushing with need.

His gaze still on her, he spoke. “Your business in Kodiak is finished.”

Say what?

“I’m finished when I’m good and ready. I’m here to meet Deni Wright, and I’m not leaving until I see him. We’ve got trade to discuss.”

The electric-blue eyes left her face and she could finally suck in a breath. Of course, that brought with it the delectable scent of musk and woods from Emerald Eyes still pressed against her body. Jesus, could she come from a scent alone? She was about to find out.

“I am Deni Wright, and your business is now concluded. First, apologize to her,” Blue-Eyes said.

The suit frowned at her and snorted at the guys to her back. “She can take a bit of tough love. Needed more as a child, if you asked me, and she wouldn’t look like that.”

Emerald Eyes moved fast, too fast for her to keep up with, and jacked the man by his throat. Dangling from the air, the blond coughed and fought to breathe. Deni replaced the man holding her, his fingers spearing into her hair and anchoring her to his side.

“Apologize, or I’ll rip your throat out.”

“Rich, you’re scaring people,” the attendant said to Emerald-Eyes. Her voice was soft when she spoke to him, but she turned hard eyes to Ally. What the hell was going on?

“Not my problem.”

Deni. Rich. Eight letters. The same amount in “fuck hard”, “yes, there”, and “no, harder”. Ally moaned, not sure what the hell was wrong with her, but she couldn’t stop it. She curled her fingers into Deni’s leather jacket tight enough for her knuckles to turn white. She’d never been so turned on in her life. Deni’s chest rumbled against her cheek and her pussy wept. That was the sexiest sounds she’d ever heard in her life.

Then their names clicked. Deni Wright and Rich Denard, her dates.

“I’m not going to ask again,” Rich threatened.

“I’m sorry,” the suit said through gasps of air.

Rich dropped him in a heap on the floor and then stepped back. “Put him on the next flight out of here. I’ll cover the price.”

“Mr. Wright, please,” the man started.

“The woman you insulted? She belongs to us. Any thoughts of a deal are over with,” Deni told him.

Why did the idea that she belonged to them sound so good? She tried to pull away from Deni, to clear her head, but he growled and held her close. His hand didn’t budge one inch.

“Find her luggage. I don’t care what it costs, and have it shipped to the cabin, Sarah,” Rich told the attendant.

She nodded. “Yes, sir. By boat can be done tonight. For safety, no planes are in the air for the storm watch.”

Rich nodded. “That works. Not having her things distressed her.”

The attendant reached a hand to rest on Rich’s arm, her face sour as she frowned at Ally, but Rich shifted away before glaring at her. She swallowed and stepped back. “I’ll get it done.”

“We can leave now,” Deni said. It took Ally a minute to realize that he was talking to her.

She nodded, her tongue twisting in her mouth. Deni turned with her and kept his fingers in her hair. Rich gripped her neck once more, and they walked, boxing her in, away from baggage claim. Rich lifted her carry-on over her shoulder like it weighed nothing.

“It’ll take a little while to travel to clan lands. Do you want to eat before that?” Deni asked.

The mention of food made her stomach growl. The flame of embarrassment rushed over her face, but Rich just laughed.

“We will feed you, baby. Anything you want.”

The situation was fast running away with her. They angled her through the building, people giving them a wide berth and some even bowing slightly, without her having to do more than put one foot in front of the other. What in the hell? She wasn’t some delicate lady needing to be pushed around because she couldn’t think for herself.

“Hold on,” she said, planting her feet firmly on the ground. Their forward momentum pulled the top half of her forward. The men stopped instantly and shuffled back a bit to right her on her feet. That was a pretty cool trick.

“Is something wrong?” Deni asked.

“My name is Alejandra Perez, but you can call me Ally. Nice to meet you, too,” she grumbled.

Deni stared at her in confusion. Rich smiled a bit and turned around to face her. “I’m Rich and that’s Deni, Chief of the Snow Cap Clan. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Deni rolled his eyes. She almost gave him a piece of her mind before he bent down and sealed his lips to hers.

What’s a mind again?
