Paranormal Dating Agency: Her Mane Attraction (Kindle Worlds Novella) by Nicole Garcia (4)

Chapter Six

They sat in silence through most of lunch and the clean-up afterward. Not that Eira didn’t try, because she did. She made small talk about the weather, her job, her father. In fact, all she did talk about was herself. Every time she tried asking questions about him, he either reverted to another subject or refused to answer at all. With each passing second she thought Gerri definitely made a mistake by matching them. They couldn’t be any more different and had absolutely nothing in common. Well, nothing except the sexual tension that seemed to fill the room. She knew he felt it too by the way he looked at her, like he wanted to devour her whole. Only whenever she got close to him, he pulled away from her.

It was getting close to dinnertime and would be getting dark soon so she suggested they leave before it got too late. “We should get going while it’s still light out. I don’t think you’re ready for night flying yet.”  She giggled and when he looked at her he smiled. He actually gave her the warmest smile she’d ever received from a man, and tiny goosebumps prickled up her arms.

“Why don’t we stay the night? I mean if that’s okay with you.”

His statement threw her completely off guard. She didn’t know what to say to that. Not that she didn’t want to spend more time with him because she did. She loved the idea of getting to know him better. “Uh, I guess if that’s what you want to do.” Titling her head to the side, she squinted her eyes at him. “Wait a minute. Do you really want to stay or are you just trying to avoid flying again?”

“Both.”

Eira laughed. “I appreciate your honesty.” She rose from the kitchen table. “I guess we should get dinner ready then. But first I have to call my father and let him know I won’t be coming home tonight. Do you need to call anyone? Work? Jett?”

“No, I took the week off. Truthfully, I was ordered to take some time off because I had accumulated so much.”

“You don’t take any days off?”

“No, why should I?”

“Oh, I don’t know, maybe to spend time with your family and friends.”

“The only friends I have are Jett, Ronin, and Gabe.”

“You don’t have any family at all?”

“No, I was banished here when I was a cub.”

Her heart broke for him. How could a mother of any species just leave their child alone in a strange place. She walked over to him and placed her hand on his arm. “I’m sorry Adonis.”

“It’s okay. I met Jett soon after and his family took care of me until I was old enough to take care of myself. The only thing that bothered me about being raised by a wolf family was that I was never allowed to shift into my animal state because they feared I would hurt the little ones of the pack. But, Jett and I spent lots of time away from the preying eyes of the pack and he convinced me it was okay to shift. He never told anyone. It was our secret for years.”

Eira was surprised he was sharing as much as he was and decided to press him a little more. She pulled up a chair alongside him. “Why did your parents send you away at such an early age?” Adonis lifted his head and a sadness she wanted to chase away crept across the lines of his face. She debated if she should continue or not. She didn’t want to ruin the night before it even started, but she also wanted to know more about him. She wanted to know what made him tick and what caused him to be so guarded. He was obviously hiding from personal contact. Otherwise why would he spend his every waking hour at work and want to be stuck in an office all day. “You can tell me anything Adonis. If Gerri was right matching us together and I have a good feeling she is, then we need to share the important aspects of our lives and be able to talk to each other about anything.”

He took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. “They ran me off because I’m albino. I was different from the rest of the pride, an abomination in their eyes.”

“I don’t see what the difference is from everyone else, besides you lacking the gene that makes you look like everyone else.”

He leaned forward in his seat, giving her a determined glare. “Let me explain something to you. No one likes different. Whether it be an animal or a human being, no one is prepared to deal with all the questions and difficulties of being involved with a freak of nature.”

She placed her hand on his cheek. “You are not a freak of nature Adonis.”

He brushed her hand away and stood, walking over to the sink and stared out the window. “Yeah, well, tell that to everyone I come in contact with.”

She stood and made her way over to him. Her hand reached for his arm so she could try and turn him around to face her, but he yanked it away. Disappointed, she lowered her head in defeat. How could they bond if he didn’t even want her to touch him. Each time she was near him he seemed to tense up. Now that she’d brought some very painful memories, she realized she messed up and he would never trust her now.

Adonis turned to face her, tipping her chin up with his finger so she could look at him. She stood there for a long moment, getting lost in those captivating eyes of his. He ran his thumb across her bottom lip and slid his hand to her cheek. Closing her eyes, she leaned into his warm palm relishing in the rare moment of his trust.

“You’re not like anyone I’ve ever met Eira.”

“Is that a good thing or a bad thing?”

He framed her face with his hands. “It’s a very good thing.”

He bent his head to her level placing a soft kiss on her lips. The connection sent tiny bolts of electricity through her body and heated her from the inside out. She’d never felt such an attraction toward a man before. Sure, she’d had plenty of crushes, but this, this instantaneous magnetism was something different altogether. She felt a desperate need to be next to him, to be encompassed in those strong arms of his.

She cleared the sudden nervousness out of her throat. “I thought you were repulsed by me.”

“No, quite the opposite. I’m so drawn to you. I’ve never felt this way about anyone, ever. It scares me because there’s only one thing I can think about doing to you when you’re in my presence.”

 “What’s that?” She whispered.

He licked her cheek and growled in her ear. “I want to devour you.”

“Then what are you waiting for?”

Adonis slammed his mouth to hers, nipping and licking his way up to her ear. “I want to be inside of you. I want to feel the heat of your skin. I want your legs wrapped around my waist, warming my cold existence.”

Eira pulled her sweater over her head, revealing the lacy bra. For a brief moment, she thought what they were about to do was wrong, after all they’ve known each other for less than a day. Then why did it feel so right? She’d never done anything like this before. She never brought anyone to her family cabin. He was the first one she ever wanted to share something so special with. Now that they were here and after hearing what he had to go through when he was younger, she knew she’d made the right decision.

Adonis scooped her up and carried her over to the couch, placing her gently on one of the cushions. He leaned into her, licking a blazing hot trail from her collarbone to her jaw as his hand slowly traveled to the waistband of her jeans. His warm hand against her chilled skin caused her to shiver excitedly. She wanted his hands everywhere on her body. She ached for his touch in places she didn’t realize needed the attention. Once his hands were on her there was no denying the need burning inside her. His hand slid down her pants and his finger slowly skated over swollen clit and into her wet pussy. She opened her legs wider for him and rocked her hips to a rhythm that felt the most pleasing to her.

She moaned as she slid her own hand down her body and into the rough fabric to find his hand. She molded her hand over his, urging him to go faster, deeper. A comforting heat filled her belly and the need to release the tension beginning to build between her legs was urgent. Bucking her hips into his hand, she moaned again, unable to control her rapid heartbeat and shallow breathing. She was so close to the falling over the precipice and she couldn’t hold onto the feeling no matter how hard she tried. Her release came fast and hard, soaking his hand.

Adonis stood and yanked her jeans off so hard her body slid off the couch, making her fall on her ass. They both laughed as they frantically undressed each other, kissing, nipping, and biting each other playfully as clothes were strewn all around the room. When they were completely naked, Adonis lifted her into his arms and she instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist as he pressed her up against the wall. He entered her with such force she screamed with pleasure.

He growled against her neck as he thrust himself into her over and over, harder and faster until she was sure she couldn’t take anymore of blissful torture he was inflicting on her. The way he ground himself against nerve endings she didn’t even know existed had her reeling with so much desire she thought she would melt right there in his arms. With one arm gripped around her waist to hold her up and the other on the wall to support them, Adonis shifted her weight a bit and caused him to hit a spot in her body that had her instantly coming. She screamed his name, shuddering in his arms, and his release soon followed.
