Paranormal Dating Agency: Her Purr-Fect Surprise (Kindle Worlds Novella) (Silver Streak Pack Book 1) by A K Michaels (16)

Mitch couldn’t believe how his life had changed on a dime, and how quickly. Instead of being with his Alpha on a hunt for rogues, here he was cooking a meal for his soul-mate. “Damn,” he muttered, his heart fluttering with happiness and excitement as his beast purred in his head.

“What was that?” Cyndi walked in, fresh from a shower, her hair still damp and dressed in a flowing dress that hit mid-thigh and caused him to think of tugging it off her later.

His cock twitched in his jeans, coming to life again as he pictured her lying before him as he brought her to orgasm, her head falling back, her mouth wide as she screamed his name. “Shit!”

“What’s wrong?” She looked worriedly up at him over the counter, so innocent and fresh.

Did she know what she did to him when she looked at him like that? No, probably not. She was unaware of her beauty and that made her all the more gorgeous in his eyes. “Nothing’s wrong, sweetheart. You’re looking gorgeous and good enough to eat . . . literally, is all.”

Her skin flushed, her shy look endearing as she nibbled her lip. “Oh, thank you.”

“Dinner’s almost ready and there’s wine too. Could you set the table for me?” he asked, wondering if he could wish the next couple of hours away.

He was desperate to mate with his little Wolf. He’d been worried she’d want to postpone their consummation. Hell, he’d been terrified. But he doubted that was the case. Not going by her body language, and definitely not if her scent was any indication of her feelings. It wafted over him and seared into him in waves . . . she was aroused and excited. Her aroma tantalized and excited him in equal measures and he hoped they got through the meal without him throwing her over the table and . . . no, he would not do that.

He’d do it right. They would have a long, loving session in bed, where he’d bestow her with as many orgasms as he could manage to wring out of her before he finally sank inside her and sealed their bond. They had time, lots of time . . . well, days anyway. He’d texted his Alpha and explained what had happened, although he doubted Jonson would get it right away. Not when he was in the midst of a hunt. Then again, Jonson had been weird about this trip from the start, telling him he didn’t expect him back straight away anyway. It had all been . . . strange. As if he knew something was going to happen.

His Alpha wouldn’t expect to see him anytime soon. Not when he’d found his mate. And once he and Cyndi had bonded they could then sort out what would come next. If he had to move Packs, then so be it. He’d do whatever it took to make her happy. End of story.

“Table’s ready.” Her soft voice brought him out of his musings and he saw her with the wine bottle in her hand. “Want a glass?”

“I’d rather have a beer, there was some in the box that was delivered, they’re in the fridge.” His eyes stayed glued to her as she went to get him one, her dress riding up as she bent over. Her thighs slowly revealing themselves to him, and hot damn but he couldn’t help but wish to get a glimpse of . . . nope she grabbed a beer and stood before he saw anything more.

“Here you go.” She turned, smiling.

But it wasn’t just a smile. There was so much more to it as she came over. Her eyes held a hint of mischievousness he hadn’t seen before, and her pupils were also dilated. Double damn. This dinner was going to be the longest he’d ever endured in his life.

“Are you sure you’re all right?” She tilted her head, looking up at him as she held out the beer.

“I’m fine,” he almost groaned, taking the drink, popping the lid and downing it in one.

“I’m starving.” She ran her tongue along her lips. “Do you cook a lot? I’m afraid I’m lazy when it comes to the kitchen. Staying at Connie’s place means her mom does most of the cooking.”

“What?” He hadn’t heard a word, not one. His eyes focused on her lips. Thoughts and images flitting through his brain with what he hoped they would be doing later.

“You certainly don’t seem okay, Mitch.”

“Sorry.” He shook his head, turning back to dish up. “It’s just a simple chicken dish with vegetables, herbs, and potatoes, and there’s fresh bread. There’s also dessert cooling in the fridge for later.”

“Smells fabulous.” Cyndi leaned over, her dress gaping slightly to give him a view down her cleavage.

What he saw almost had him grabbing her and throwing her over his shoulder . . . a sneaky peak of purple lace that had his blood pressure shooting skyward and his cock fighting for freedom from his jeans. She glanced up, catching him, a blush creeping up over her cheeks as she stepped away quickly.

“Let’s eat.” He dished up quickly, knowing if he didn’t do something to diffuse the situation he’d scare her . . . or embarrass himself.

“Yes, let’s eat.” She grabbed the wine and a glass and retreated to the table.

Once they’d settled with their food and drinks, both of them relaxed. Talk coming easily and he found out more about his mate. Her upbringing far from happy which brought forth more than a few growls from him. She’d reached over, holding his hand to calm him, before continuing. Her touch soothing both man and beast. After a couple of glasses of wine she loosened up, joking back and forth with him, and began to flirt openly with him.

Her eyes would drop over his body, time and again, as if she were imagining what lay beneath his clothes . . . as he was doing. Her tongue darting out to lick her lips, her head tilting to offer him her neck over and over. He wasn’t sure if she was even aware of her actions but it was driving him insane with need. His hard length pressing against his zipper painfully.

“Dessert?” he asked gruffly, his throat dry and hoarse with desire.

“Can I have that later?” Cyndi looked down at her lap, peeking up at him through her lashes. “I’d much rather we . . . you know . . . went upstairs now. My Wolf is really driving me crazy and my body is on fire, Mitch. I’ve never believed all that I’ve heard before about the mating call . . . but it’s true. Isn’t it? I feel very strange and I just want you to . . .”

“Take care of you, sweetheart. I’ll take care of you.” Mitch’s voice dropped lower, his love for this beautiful creature before him soaring to the skies and beyond.

He stood, going around to her and picking her up straight from her seat to cradle her in his arms. “I’ll look after you, Cyndi, and if I do anything, anything at all that you don’t like, just let me know and I’ll stop. Okay?”

“I trust you,” she whispered against his neck, her breath fluttering against his skin before her lips pressed small kisses along his jaw, searching for his mouth.

“Thank you, for placing that trust in me,” he replied, turning to devour her mouth in a kiss filled with hot passion and love as he held her close, carrying her upstairs to bed.
