Paranormal Dating Agency: Taming his Saber (Kindle Worlds Novella) by Rebekah R. Ganiere (15)

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Affina sat on the plane with Satia, Incus, Boramus and Medajon. The four huddled together and whispered in frantic tones. She wanted to comfort them. To tell them that everything would be fine, just the way Razor had done for her, but she couldn't. The pain inside her soul threatened to overwhelm her.

Razor hadn't come home the night before. She'd hoped he'd show up and tell her he'd go with her, but he hadn't. She'd told him, she couldn't leave them to fend for themselves. It wasn't right. He had to see that. And yet he had chosen to stay in the city anyway.

The plane pulled forward on the tarmac and Satia gave out a small cry. Affina looked over her shoulder as the group joined hands. A rush of emotion struck her at the sight of them together. For the first time she felt outside her clan. Apart. Not belonging. She wondered if that was how Razor had felt all those years in her father's palace trying to earn his place. And now. Now he was king, but had no clan to support him. They were leaving him. She was leaving him. No. It wasn't right.

"Stop," she whispered. "Stop." Affina fumbled with her seatbelt and jumped to her feet. "Stop! Stop the plane!"

The stewardess rushed forward. "Is something wrong, Miss?"

"We need to get off the plane. Now."

She turned to the group. "I'm sorry. I can't go. He's my mate."

"Go," said Incus. "We will be fine together."

"No," she said. "Stay with me. With us. Just for a little while. Then I'll take you to the lodge. I can't abandon him and leave him all alone. Not again. I have to fix things with Razor."

The group looked at each other and then nodded in silent accord.

"Go to him," said Satia. "We will be well. And we will be with you in spirit."

"But we cannot stay," said Boramus. "We need time to regroup and heal."

"The city isn’t the place for us to do that," said Incus.

Affina shook her head. "Let me find you another mode of transportation. Flying can be... stressful."

Every set of shoulders squared at the implication that they would be afraid.

"We are sabers. We can handle it. Go," said Incus. "I will take care of them. When you are ready, join us." He stopped for a moment and then said, "Tell Razor we are grateful and we will be waiting for both of you."

Affina walked slowly to the exit door and stopped. It was the hardest choice she'd ever made. Her obligation to her clan, or her obligation to her heart.

Raze stood in the middle of his apartment, her scent permeating every surface. His body ached with missing her. He was an idiot for letting her leave, but then being smart when it came to Affina had never been one of his strong suits.

Every fiber of his body wanted to go after her. To tell her he loved her and that he'd give it all up for her, but if he did the clan would never respect him.

Dammit what did it matter if they didn't respect him? Without her, life wasn't worth it anyway. Raze raced for the elevator and pushed the button.

The door opened. Affina. His throat dried. She hadn't left.

The doors began to close but he pushed them opened and rushed in and cupped her face. She'd come back for him. She'd left the clan and come back.

He pressed his lips to her softly, tasting her. She wrapped her arms around his waist and kissed him back.

"I am nothing without you," he said.

"And I you. I thought I lost you once, I won't go through that again."

He pressed his lips to hers again. She pulled him into her, their bodies melted into each other and they were one again.

He deepened their kiss, parting her lips with his tongue. She moaned in his mouth and ran her hands under his coat, pulling his shirt from his pants.

"I think we better get out of the elevator."

Affina looked around in surprise. "Agreed."

He pushed the button and opened the elevator door. He pulled her across the front room and she stopped at the couch and ripped his shirt apart.

"We need to talk," he said.

"I know," she replied.

"I have to work here in New York."

Raze looked down as she swirled her tongue down his chest to his hip. She continued to swirl her tongue over his abs as she undid his belt buckle and slowly unzipped his pants.

"No you don't."

Need pulsed inside him as she slid his pants down releasing his full hardness.

"Affina." He tried to think straight. "My business is here."

"Hire someone else to run it. We have enough money."

It was true. He had more money than he could spend in a lifetime. He owned dozens and dozens of properties making an income that had been fit for her father. For a king.

She kissed down the inside of his thigh and he fisted his fingers in her hair barely able to keep standing.

"We'll divide our time." He fought to get the words out. "Half the time here. Half at the lodge."

"That would be wise." She smiled up at him. "See, you already sound like a king."

When she slid her wet tongue down his length he yanked her to her feet, then brought her mouth to his, claiming it. He needed to be inside her.

Ripping at her pants he fought to get them off her. He lay her back on the couch and kicked off his pants and shoes, his mouth still covering hers. She grabbed onto his shoulders as he parted her legs with his thighs and drove inside her.

He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth trying to hold out. Gently her hand pressed into his cheeks.

"Look at me," she said.

He opened his eyes and stared into her beautiful face. Her eyes lit with a love that he'd never seen directed at him before.

She brought his mouth to hers and her tongue flicked out as she bit his bottom lip.

"I love you Razor's Edge."

"And I you, Affina Edge."

He kissed her soft and she grabbed his rear, forcing him in deeper. Raze rocked into her, her body wrapping around him like a silken blanket. Tension built inside him as he thrust inside her, bringing his hips down on hers being sure to rub her sensitive nub.

She bit his shoulder, piercing the skin. "Harder."

She was his mate and his queen; what she wanted he was bound to obey.

Raze thrust in deeper and faster. His fangs grew chin length as a vortex of need wound tight inside him. She moaned against his shoulder and gasped, her body clenching tighter and Raze stabbed her with his fangs and his body erupted like a volcano. She held on to him as she peaked and he couldn't keep a coherent thought as their bodies joined in perfect unison. She was his. Truly his. And he was weak with needing her.

Within a minute it was over and he fell on top of her spent. He brushed the hair from her eyes and kissed her soft and slow.

"I'm yours forever," he vowed. "I'll never let you go again."

"I am yours my king. And I'm not going anywhere."
