Roped by Remy Blake (3)

Chase

Blaire’s flushed skin is unbelievably smooth under my thumb and her brown eyes are big as a doe’s looking up at me. “Nothing wrong with getting a little dirty.” I wink and her cheeks flush an even darker shade of pink. She presses her teeth into her bottom lip drawing my attention to its fullness. I’m tempted to snatch her up in my arms and show her exactly what my version of getting dirty feels like.

She sweeps her honey blonde hair out of her eyes and stands straighter. “If you’ll come with me, I’ll take you to the main house.” She gestures with her hand in the direction we need to head. “Shall we?”

I nod and we begin to walk, side by side. My eyes keep flicking in her direction and I let myself fall behind for a moment so I can check out the back view. Damn, it might rival her front and that’s saying something because she’s fucking beautiful. She’s also adorable and sexy—shy and sensual. She’s already proving to be a paradox in my mind and I just met her.

“Where are you from?” Blaire questions.

I smile at her polite effort to make idle conversation, even though I can tell she’s uncomfortable in my presence.

“I’m originally from Morgantown, West Virginia, but I live in New York City.”

She smiles. “I love New York, especially the city. My dad used to take me with him on business trips when I was a kid. The first time I stepped onto a New York City sidewalk I was only six years old. I’ll never forget how I looked up and slowly spun around to take in the full view. I remember thinking the buildings there were bigger than any other place in the world.”

“It does have a way of feeling that way,” I agree. “And everything seems faster there. It’s definitely not the place to go if you want to relax.”

She giggles and my eyes sweep over to her. Her lips are gently curved and she looks like she’s starting to relax—maybe even enjoy my company.

“No, relaxing and New York City should never be mentioned together. It’s so vibrant and energetic, but I don’t think I could get used to that all the time. It’s nice to visit though.” She shrugs.

“It took some getting used to, but I love it. I grew up in a city, albeit not one as large as NYC, but it’s what I’m used to. I’m just a city boy at heart.”

“Well then, City Boy, being here might be quite challenging for you.”

“I like challenges.”

“Maybe I’ll remind you of this conversation when you’re knee deep in cow manure or mucking out the horses’ stalls.” Her lips tease at a smile she’s holding in.

“Hey, whatever you throw my way, I can handle. I’m not some pansy ass afraid to get dirty. I love dirty.” I wiggle my eyebrows at her when she glances at me.

She presses her lips together. “Hmph. We’ll see, City Boy. There’s dirty and there’s filthy. I have a feeling your version is mild compared to what you’ll actually be dealing with.”

Is she issuing a challenge? Is she trying to tell me I don’t know what dirty is? I guess I’ll have to show her she doesn’t know the meaning of the word; never mind filthy.

“I’m up for whatever comes my way while I’m here. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty or the rest of me.” I smirk. The only filthy I’m interested in involves the two of us naked committing every sin we can, but I’ll do whatever I have to while I’m here. Fulfilling the requirements of my contract has to be the priority. Tasting Blaire’s pussy comes in a close second.

I follow Blaire inside a garage like building and she climbs into a golf cart. “Come on. Climb in. We’ll take the scenic route.”

“Sounds good. By any chance do you guys have a putting green?”

She raises a brow and smirks. “There’s an eighteen hole golf course on site.”

“You’re fucking with me aren’t you?”

She laughs. “No, I’m not. I promise you there really is a golf course. My dad insisted on it when we were planning out the site. He said too many deals are made on the greens and we had to have one.”

As we come up over a small hill, the breathtaking landscape of the valley stretches out in front of us and Blaire stops the cart. I find myself leaning forward in my seat as I take in the awe inspiring view.

“It’s something else, right?” Blaire questions, beside me.

“It’s unreal. I’ve never seen anything like it.” And I haven’t. So much land as far as the eye can see. Infinite space. No crowds, no cars, no smog or buildings. “What mountains are those?” I ask, feeling ignorant for not reading up on the area before I came. As much as I go overboard researching what I’m dealing with when it comes to work, I was too busy getting everything in order for this trip.

“It’s the Teton Range. That right there is Grand Teton.” I follow the direction she’s pointing and take in the majesty of the mountain peak.

“What lake is that?” I question pointing to the large body of water.

“That’s Jenny Lake. We can go kayaking on it while you’re here...ah...I mean you can go. If you want.”

I smile at her slip and turn my head. Her beauty rivals the magnificent scenery. “We can go kayaking. It would be nice to have someone with me who knows the area so well.” I add the second part of my reply only to make her feel more relaxed. After five minutes in her company I already know I have more salacious plans for her than being my tour guide.

“Uh, okay.”

“What else is there to do around here?”

“Well, there are all kinds of trails in the Teton National Park for you to explore. And we have anything you could possibly need at King Ranch Resort.” She begins to drive us along the path once again and it’s only another minute or two before I catch sight of the main house. Holy shit. It’s enormous—a mansion. The large white pillared structure looks like some pre Civil War southern plantation you’d find in South Carolina. Though a bit out of place amid the mountains and forest backdrop, it’s still stunning nonetheless. I let out a long, low whistle.

“Wow. This is impressive.” Grabbing my cell phone from my pocket, I open up a note and begin jotting down some details of my first impression.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m making some notes. They could come in handy when I design the ad campaign.”

She remains silent, but I can feel the weight of her stare on the side of my face.

“What?” I question as I finish typing on the screen.

“You take your job seriously.”

I cast a glance in her direction and quirk a brow. “Is that a question or an observation?”

She studies me carefully before answering. “It’s an observation.”

“You sound surprised. I’m sure your father doesn’t make it a habit to hire people who don’t take their jobs seriously.”

“No, he doesn’t.” She shakes her head. “But you’re different.”

“I’m different? What the hell is that supposed to mean?” I fire back.

“You’re younger than the people he usually hires.”

“Younger means lazy?” I push.

“No, it doesn’t. It shouldn't. I just judged you based solely on your looks.”

“On my looks?”

“Mhm.” She nods. “Sorry about that, City Boy. I shouldn’t be judgemental. I know better than that.”

“Wait, I might be a little slow on the uptake, it’s been a long day. What do you mean my looks? What’s wrong with my looks?” I’ve never had any complaints before. Most women find me attractive.

She looks reluctant to answer. Shit. Does she find me unattractive? For the first time in my life I’m concerned a woman doesn’t like the way I look.

“There’s nothing wrong with your looks.”

“Come on. You can’t leave me hanging. Am I hideous and I just don’t know it?” I jest.

She snorts. “Hardly. Don’t make me say it.”

“Make you say what?” I’m getting confused.

She rolls her eyes and releases a long sigh. “Fine. My father doesn’t usually hire young guys and certainly not attractive ones.”

A slow grin spreads across my face. “You think I’m attractive?”
