SETH (Hell's Lovers MC, #5) by Crimson Syn (6)

Chapter Five

SETH

I walked into Knox’s shop, ready to get my bike back. Having Ciara in such close quarters again was making me crazy, and I needed to take a good long ride. “Hey, Knox. Is she ready?”

“Almost. Just need to adjust the speed setting. Dude, they really did a number on her. Had to replace the metal panels and the gas tank was pretty damaged. She may need a paint job later on. Diesel told me it looks like more than a simple hit and run.”

“Yeah, well. If De La Cruz wanted to send a message, I think he would have been a little more creative.”

“Then it’s best we stick together. The car clearly gunned for you, Seth. It’s on the cameras. We saw it hit and aim for your bike, man. That shit was brutal to watch. You’re lucky you’re still alive.”

I slumped into the black leather couch he had in his office. “So how long is it going to take to get the bike back into shape?”

“Dude did you just hear what I said? They were aiming for you.”

“They’re aiming for all of us, Knox. If I sit here and dwell on what could have happened, it’s not going to help the situation. What I need to do is find out who the fuck tried to run me over.”

“Wolf doesn’t want us riding alone. No brother is to be left alone.”

“Fuck!” I ran a hand through my hair. I was so fucking tired of having to watch my back and everybody else’s. We were all strained and stressed out. The Death Row Shooters were still around and half of us were crashing at Ravenous or Grayson’s until this blew over.

“Have you talked to someone recently? Anybody you might think may be following you?”

“I talk to a lot of people, Knox. I also collect a lot of money from a lot of fucked up people. It’s what I do. But recently, all I’ve been doing is watching over Wolf’s little girl.”

“You’ve been doin’ a lot more than that.” Knox smirked.

“What the fuck is that supposed to mean?”

“Means just what I said. Let’s just say your extracurricular activities aren’t going unnoticed.”

He pointed up to the camera by the door and I cursed. “Does everyone know?”

“Just the brothers, especially Diesel. Fucker was pissed the hell off, but he wasn’t surprised. Just be more careful with her, brother. She’s a good girl.”

“Good. I’m glad. Now everyone knows not to mess with what’s mine.” I got up and made my way to the door.

“Watch yourself, Seth. I don’t want you getting hurt out there.”

“Yeah, well, I could say the same to you. Let me know when she’s ready!” I yelled out as I left the shop.

I headed back to Ravenous when I spotted a black SUV parked across the street, down the road. It looked faintly familiar and completely out of place. I had this weird feeling that I was being watched. I pulled my phone out and dialed Riggs.

“Hey.”

“Hey, brother. Do me a favor. Check out camera six, the one pointing down the road towards the warehouses.”

I stepped into Ravenous and made my way to the back office, where Riggs was watching the cameras.

“What’s up?” he asked as I entered the office.

“Focus on the black SUV parked on the corner. Can you get a license plate?”

Riggs zoomed in on the van and cleared the focus. “No plate.”

“Interesting.”

“What’s going on?”

I gestured at the screen. “Looks like we’re being watched.”

We stared at the screen and I picked up the phone and called Diesel. If there was anyone who knew what to do, he would.

“What do you want, Scardino?”

He sounded angry, and I knew why, but now was not the time to engage in an argument. That would have to wait.

“We’ve got a situation.”

“What’s going on?” His tone immediately changed back to business.

“Looks like we’re being watched. They got some sort of surveillance van parked nearby.”

“Where?”

“On the west corner from Ravenous, across the street.”

I heard him rustle around and then the sound of him typing on a keyboard. “Yup. I got them, no license plate. Put me on speakerphone.”

I pressed the button and set the phone down in front of Riggs. “Go ahead.”

“Riggs, see if you can find footage of the last forty eight hours. I want to know how long they’ve been here and from what direction they arrived. When you got all that, let me know.”

Riggs cracked his knuckles and his neck and started typing away.

“Seth, stay inside.”

“Why is everybody treating me like a goddamn kid. I’m fucking twenty-eight years old!”

“Calm down, twenty-eight year old. I’m just watching out for you. Cain already told me that if something happens to you, it’s our head. So just stay the fuck inside. You need to watch Ciara, anyway, so stop fucking around and listen.”

His tone was dead serious, threatening even, and I knew better than to fuck with Diesel when he got that way. “Fine. I’ll stay here.”

“And we’ll talk later about you stealing my girlfriend,” the phone died before I could even get a word in.

Riggs looked up at me and smirked. “You’re in trouble.”

“Fuck you.”

I made my way back out and came across the reason I was currently in trouble, and she looked good enough to eat.
