Space Dog (Romance on the Go Book 0) by Melissa Hosack (8)

Chapter Nine

Rory couldn’t remember the last time he’d stripped out of his clothing this fast. In record time, he was down to just his boxers. Natalie was giggling at his antics as she attempted to keep up. He chose to help her, reaching around her to unclasp the bra she was sliding down her shoulders.

“Nobody better call us to get in touch over this camera pod. I’m not in the mood for a debriefing right now.”

“You seem in the mood to me,” Natalie said with a laugh as he tugged her panties down her thighs. “Seems like you can’t keep your mind on anything else.”

Rory leaned in and playfully bit her thigh from where he knelt by her feet. “Cheeky.”

“Thanks,” she said as he stood and pulled her into his arms. “I thought so, too.” When he pulled her in for a passionate kiss, she gave a soft moan into his mouth and caressed her fingernails against his jaw. “So this is actually happening.”

He tugged her up against him, loving the feel of her feminine curves. “Of course it is.”

She grinned, sliding her hands along his bare shoulders until she rested her arms casually on his biceps. “Without any dire need. No werewolf knocking at the door. No threat of danger. We’re just … going to have sex. For the fun of it.”

Rory had assumed she’d understood how he felt about her. Just because the way they’d gotten together was unconventional didn’t mean he didn’t think she was the most amazing thing on the planet … or off of it. “Hey…” He pulled back just enough so he could look her in the eyes. His hands rested gently on her hips, holding her in place so he could make certain she truly heard him. “Everything that’s happened between us…” He shook his head in disbelief that she didn’t know. “I’m thrilled it happened. I’ve not been jumping you every chance I get just because of the thing inside of me. I’ve been doing it because I want to. Me. Rory. The man. Not the werewolf. I think you’re amazing.”

“I’m weird,” she said. “I know what people say. I’m the geeky chick who carries around old tomes trying to prove the supernatural really exists.”

He was instantly filled with remorse at having described her as that only a week before. Wow. Had it only been a week? “I love that you’re weird. Had you not been uniquely you, I would be dead right now.” He shrugged, waving off her concerns. “Besides, geeky is the new sexy. I think you’re perfect just the way you are. You’re cute.”

“Will you still think I’m cute when we get back home?”

Rory leaned in to rub his nose affectionately against hers. “Absolutely.” He trailed his fingertips up her bare ribs and slid in until he cupped one of her bare breasts. “Will you stop worrying and allow me to show you just how much I appreciate you?”

Natalie closed her eyes and moaned when he pinched a nipple, tugging lightly on it. “Y-yes. That sounds great.” She opened her eyes to stare into his. “I think I’d like that.”

“Good.” He leaned in and gave her a firm kiss. With his lips still pressed to hers, he walked backward, pulling her with him until they banged into his bedroom door. Chuckling, he kicked it open and maneuvered his way blindly to the bed.

Dropping down to it, he pulled her onto his lap. Gripping her backside so she couldn’t squirm away, he pressed his erection against her belly. “Can’t you see how much I like everything about you?”

“I do see,” she said, shifting her hips so she could position herself over his aching cock. “I like knowing I can affect you like this. You’re normally so suave and cool.”

“Well, I’m not so suave and cool right now. I’m seconds away from begging you to fuck me already.”

“You don’t have to beg.” Grazing her lips against his, she sank down onto him. She gave a hiss at the sensation and her head fell back in pleasure.

Rory didn’t think he’d ever seen anything more beautiful than the sight before him. He could spend the rest of his life watching her, trapped in this moment. “You are gorgeous.” He leaned forward and pressed his lips against the soft skin of her throat. At her moan of approval, he flicked his tongue out to taste her.

With his hands guiding her hips, she began to rock on top of him. Each roll of her hips thrust him deeper and deeper into her. Each thrust came quicker, harder, until they were both panting and searching for that sweet release.

Unable to take the submissive role any longer, Rory flipped her over onto her back. He braced his forearms on either side of her head and nibbled at her lower lip as his body took over the rhythm. He ground his pelvic bone into her, eliciting a squeak of pleasure.

With a low, throaty chuckle, he moved his body against hers, reveling in the feel of her skin, the scent of her shampoo, everything that was uniquely her. It was something new for him, but something he knew he could no longer go without.

As he made love to her, he pushed everything to the back of his mind—even the discovery he’d made while he worked on the camera pod. He would save that information until they were safely back on the ground. Telling her now that he’d found what he was pretty sure was solid evidence that aliens had tapped into their equipment might frighten her. He’d wait until they were almost home to fill her in, but they’d made a discovery that would reverberate through history. And they’d done it together.

Feeling the tension in her legs, knowing she was close, Rory picked up his pace. He thrust forcefully into her, groaning at the sound of her passionate whimpers. The two of them just fit so perfectly together it made him regret the lost time before they’d gotten together. They’d worked so closely to one another for years, but had never truly seen each other until now.

With a cry, she suddenly crashed over the edge and took him with her.

With one last thrust, he buried his face in her hair and rode out his pleasure. When he slowly came down from the high, he noted the way she clung to him, the way her hands caressed along his bare back.

She was in no hurry to get away from him. In fact, she snuggled in, nuzzling his shoulder as she did. That in itself proved to him there was more to their relationship than just sex. There was genuine emotion, and it was something he intended to explore to the fullest.

As he settled in next to her, he realized he hadn’t had a single urge to tear out of his skin since they’d turned around and started their journey home. She’d made that possible for him. Pulling her in tighter against him, Rory drifted off, leaving his worries behind.
