The Omega's Alpha Boss: M/M Omegaverse MPREG Gay Romance (The Omega's Baby Book 1) by Bonnar King (22)

Epilogue

LEO

Lucas was the most amazing fiancé an omega could ever hope for. After I had moved in with him, he was so patient and kind to me, even when I would fly off the handle and lose my temper due to my hormones, he would just have that all-knowing, a sly smile on his face, which would sometimes piss me off even more. But deep down, I loved having him there to listen to me bitch and moan about my swollen ankles, back pains and most importantly, tend to my ridiculous food cravings—mustard on bananas and jelly on top of lasagna were just my latest ones. However, one emotion that never wavered was the deep love I felt for Lucas, and I knew he felt the same for me. He would tell leave love notes all around the house and especially the refrigerator—where he knew I’d definitely see them.

Now that Lucas was no longer my boss, we were able to go public with our relationship. He’d surprise me with the most beautiful flowers, and more importantly, Belgian and Swiss chocolates, which I could never get enough of. To hell with my slim figure! I would just deal with that after the baby was born, because for now, all I wanted to do was be spoiled rotten by my alpha. The look of pride as Lucas showed me off to his friends and business partners was also very flattering. I definitely didn’t mind being his trophy omega, much to the jealousy of my ex and the other omegas who felt they had a shot with Lucas.

Lucas swore to me that he wouldn’t make the same mistakes his own dad made by being an absentee father. He was so supportive—always changing his demanding schedule to accompany me for every check-up and ultrasound appointment, making sure I was taking my prenatal vitamins and getting plenty of quality rest. He’d even take part in the baby workshops, where I must admit, I was the envy of almost every omega there. I didn’t mind one bit—I was proud of my alpha and more than happy to let the other omegas ogle at him — as long as they kept their grubby paws off him! And I knew Lucas was proud of me by the way he’d look lovingly into my eyes as he gently rubbed my baby bump every chance he got.

Now that Lucas was free, and I had a ton of unused vacation days, we went away to spend the holidays together in his luxury log cabin in the country. With the snow gently falling outside and the fire ablaze inside by the fireplace, it was absolutely picture perfect—like something you’d see on a post card, only better, because this was real. I can honestly say this was the most peaceful and happiest I’d ever felt in my life. I finally felt like I belonged somewhere real for once.

I also wasn’t complaining about the fact Lucas had let his stubble grow out a little as he went into lumberjack mode—chopping up wood outside for our fireplace. When he would return with the wood, covered in sweat, it was a pleasure to undress him and smell his alpha scent as we made love on the rug by the fireplace.

I felt like a prince, being pampered by Lucas. He would even insist on giving me the most amazing foot rubs and back massages of my life even if it was in the middle of the night. He somehow just knew when I was feeling uncomfortable, and always wanted to be the solution to it. On the days I was feeling better, I definitely made sure to return the favor, by giving him the most amazing oral pleasure and sex. He wasn’t a selfish lover either, making sure he’d made me come multiple times before filling me with his warmth. The preggo-sex was definitely not overrated—I now knew what all the buzz was about! We’d spend the evenings in each other’s arms, as Lucas ran his hand over my belly and smelled my hair. It seemed like he couldn’t get enough of me, his omega.

Best vacation. Ever.

It was middle of Summer in the city, back in our new home. I was just about as big as could be, and actually a few days late for my water to break. During my last appointment, I was told if I was overdue one more day, they’d put me into a medically induced labor. Being pregnant was a dream and great and all, but I was freakin’ huge and ready to pop at any moment. I was so over it and just wanted my baby!

Lucas made sure to pack a bag with baby clothes and supplies for when the day would come. I had him on speed dial and everything was ready for when all systems were go.

Lucas remained by my side during the expected day, but it was just typical that the moment he stepped out to buy me some snacks, my water broke, with me standing in front of the empty refrigerator that I had raided during the night.

Panicking, I tried dialing Lucas on his phone, but my clumsy fingers wouldn’t co-operate with my brain. I was literally clicking everything on the screen. Everything except the damn icon that I needed.

Thank god for voice dialing.

“My water. My water broke!”

As I stood in the kitchen in a freaked-out mess, Lucas burst through the door holding a bag full of snacks, which immediately hit the ground as he raced over to me.

“I’m here baby, I’m here. I was just around the corner when

“Baby? What an incorporate time to start using that name on me. Get me to the damn hospital,” I yelled.

With swollen ankles and the current labor pains growing by the minute, I was in no condition to walk, so Lucas picked me up and carried me to the SUV — with relative ease, I might add. I didn’t know why that mattered to me, but it made me feel good that I still wasn’t too heavy to be carried by my alpha.

Just as Lucas was about to pull out of the driveway, I realized he had forgotten the baby bag.

“The bag. The baby bag, Lucas!”

With a frustrated growl, Lucas put the SUV in park and ran inside to fetch the bag. Even in the midst of all this panic, there was humor in it for me. We had spent so much time making sure the bag was ready, Lucas would be at home, and the SUV had a full tank of gas, but when it came to crunch-time, we were running around like headless chickens.

Lucas hurried back with the bag and we took off toward the hospital with a roar of the engine.

I was taken to the private labor and delivery ward Lucas had arranged. To be honest, I didn’t need the private ward, but Lucas insisted on only the best for his Omega and our baby. I wasn’t going to fight him on that.

Lucas remained as steady as a rock, supporting me throughout the delivery, no matter what profanities I threw his way. I held my hand, and I looked into his steely eyes to take my mind away from the pain.

“Good, Leo. You’re doing so well. Breath,” instructed Lucas, as I gripped his hands tightly with my knuckles whitening.

Lucas looked on in amazement and pride, watching his omega deliver his child. He wasn’t grossed out or nervous at all, even though he mentioned previously that he might not be ready to see me go through this, and apologized in advance for it. Something I was fine with, as he was not the gooey baby-loving alpha growing up, but I somehow trusted my instincts that when push came to shove, he would be right there with me. And he had just proved me right.

Suddenly, there was the sound of a baby’s cry.

“Congratulations. It’s a girl,” said the midwife, handing my baby to me.

All my fears of whether I had what it took to have a baby and nurture it were erased as I held our daughter in my arms. I was overwhelmed with emotion and could feel my newborn daughter instantly bonding with me.

Lucas cut the umbilical cord and looked at me with such love and pride, which I found completely empowering.

I wasn’t sure how happy Lucas would feel about being a father to a baby a girl, but we had chosen to keep the gender of the baby a surprise. All doubts were dissolved as Lucas held our precious daughter in his arms, as a single manly tear rolled down his cheek.

“She’s so beautiful, Leo. She has your eyes.”

The sight of my alpha holding our daughter was something I could never have imagined in a million years. Yet here I was, living the dream. I never knew how much I had longed for that moment until now.

“I want to name her Leona, after her strong and amazing omega father, if that’s okay with you,” said Lucas.

The deep voice of her alpha father’s voice must have been soothing to Leona, because she had stopped crying in his arms.

“That’s alight with me,” I said, with tears of joy rolling down my face.

It was right then I knew we were going to be just fine.

We were going to be more than just fine. We were going to have the family we always wanted.
