This last week has been the best week of my life in many ways. Seeing as my memory is a hazy mist, it has literally been the best sex of my life, something Marcas was quick to point out with a chuckle.

I couldn’t even imagine a better lover if I wanted to. It’s like our bodies are made for each other. He knows every nook and cranny of my body. He knows exactly where to touch me, where to kiss me, where I’m ticklish and where I want him to wrap his strong hands around as he fucks me with reckless abandon.

At the same time, it’s also been the worst week of my life. Because I know everything has an end. And our carelessness, our peace, our happyness… I’m afraid to see it end.

Despite the sex induced coma my pink alien puts me in every night, I dream of Siya Onyx. She stares at me, looks right at me, and says things that make my skin crawl.

When I wake up, I don’t remember the words.

I only remember the way they made me feel.

Angry. Sad. And most of all: Anxious

Anxious for what the future might bring. What we might find on New Exon. I feel like there’s something we’re missing, a piece of the puzzle that we’re so close to that we can’t see it.

I’ve tried telling Marcas, but it’s hard. He’s so happy, so carefree. I don’t want to burst that bubble. I want to ride the high with him, as long as we can.

Our honeymoon period comes to an end with a simple beep.

‘Incoming message’ the screen reads.

“Somebody is reaching out to us,” I say, my voice hoarse. My naked legs are dangling around Marcas’s neck as his tongue works his magic on my swollen clit. He’s become quite adept at eating me out during this past week.

He’s perfected his technique. I’m not complaining.

Marcas tongue stops and he looks up from between my legs.

“Who?”

“It’s some type of code,” I tell him as I read it out to him.

“That’s Egon!” he says, elated. “They’re here!”

He stands up and taps in a new code. My chest rises with every deep breath — I was so close.

“Sorry,” he smirks.

Another beep, and my mate pumps his fist in the air. “They’re close, and going to meet us in an hour!”

“We have to get ready then!” I say. I’m naked, sweaty, my hair’s a mess and I don’t even remember where my clothes are.

“Not yet,” he growls, pushing me back into my captain’s chair. “I’m not done.”

“But—oh god!”

Before I can finish my sentence he’s buried his face back between my legs, and my knuckles turn white as I hold onto the side of the chair, a powerful orgasm washing over me.

“Now we have to get ready,” he smirks at me. “Though don’t think for a moment I’m going to give up this daily ritual.”

“You’re unbelievable,” I say, out of breath.

“I try.”

We shower hastily. A short hour later we’re both waiting anxiously in front of the air-lock. I don’t look as well as I should — my hair is a frizzy mess and my clothes are wrinkled.

“Don’t worry,” Marcas says, feeling my trepidation. “Egon is amazing. You’ll like him.”

He squeezes my hand. Egon’s ship is moments away from docking with us, and despite my mate’s reassurances, I’m still nervous. Will the other Zorans be as nice as Marcas?

My mate speaks very highly of his squadmates, still. What if they don’t like me? Or worse, what if they don’t trust me — I did work for Onyx after all…

The entire ship rumbles as a ship docks.

“This is it,” my mate says. A wide ear-to-ear smile covers his face. “By Zora, how I’ve waited for this.”

The door opens with a hiss. And the moment it does, my heart drops like a fucking stone.

Siya Onyx stands there.

Her hands cocked on her sides. She is flanked on either side by a dozen Onyx soldier, covered head-to-toe in jet-black armor with red insect-like eyes glowing on their helmets.

Their weapons pointed right at us.

What the…

“Well done, Lily. I’m proud of you,” she says.

This time her smile is genuine — and terrifying. A cold shiver runs down my spine.

This can’t be real. I’m having another bad dream. I have to be. This simply can’t happen.

Marcas turns to me, a look of disbelief in his teal eyes. “W-what?” he chokes.

I’m at a loss for words. I try to speak but my throat closes up. No words come out.

We’re both stunned, frozen in place.

“Where is Egon?!” Marcas growls in anger.

“Don’t worry, you beast. You’ll see him soon enough. Thanks to you two we’re finally able to squash that pesky ‘rebellion’.”

Siya’s looking even more smug than normal — and that’s saying something. A cold wave of terror washes over me. Did we… did we lead Onyx right to the Resistance?

“Liar,” Marcas growls. “Liar! You’ll pay for this!”

He jumps forward and the soldiers hose him down. My heart jumps into my throat as he falls to the floor, face down, and I realize I’m screaming as I drop down to my knees and turn him over.

I’m expecting blood, but instead, he’s covered in countless tazers.

“He’s not getting off that easily,” Siya says. “I want him to watch as his planet burns. Take him in,” she snaps. “And you, follow me.”

My legs move out of their own accord and follow the sound of Siya’s high heels. My mind is a fragmented mess as I try to make sense of it all.

What’s happening?

I want to scream, I want to yell, I want to punch her in the back of the head, but my body is tired. I can barely. My will is broken.

The soldiers lift Marcas up and drag him away, out of my sight, and my hope of a happy life leave with it.
