Epilogue
Mai slipped into their hotel room silently. She told Ryan she’d be back late and she was right, not arriving until nearly two in the morning. She wasn’t surprised to see him asleep in bed with the TV on, but the volume low. She still couldn’t believe the life they had now.
It’d been two months since he was exiled from the Light, and he seemed completely fine with it. Mai still felt guilty. She felt like it was all her fault, because it was. He didn’t see it that way, or at least that’s what he said whenever she brought it up. Still, there was a small part of her that was glad to have him all to herself now.
Mai was greedy when it came to Ryan because she was in love with him. The shock had come to her randomly and suddenly after he declared his feelings for her in front of the Council. It was then that she understood the feelings she had for him were real, strong, and now allowed to exist. It was an incredible realization. She was over three hundred years old and had never felt that way for a soul, except him.
Her eyes danced over his sleeping form. He was lying on his back with one arm bent over his head and the other across his chest. The sheets hung low on his hips and a leg jutted out from beneath them. He looked comfortable, but delicious, too.
A slow, wicked smile took her lips as she looked at him. Mai knew what she wanted and knew he wouldn’t mind.
She set her things aside, kicked off her shoes, and approached the bed silently. When she reached him, she sat down as softly as possible so the pillow-top mattress wouldn’t give her away. When she was sure he was still asleep, she reached forward.
Mai tenderly swept her fingernails across his chest. His breathing deepened for a moment, but the bear didn’t stir. Slowly, she trailed them down his body. He shifted only slightly—as though some part of his brain was aware he was being touched—but remained primarily oblivious.
When she reached the sheet, Mai didn’t hesitate to wrap her fingers around his dick. She touched him lightly at first, but “The Beast” stirred regardless of how softly caressed. It grew and hardened beneath her tentative touch. When she grasped it outright, she felt it twitch and smiled as a result. Her eyes drifted to his face as she stroked him over the sheet. Ryan was still asleep, but she noticed his fingers twitch and flex.
Mai drew her bottom lip between her teeth. She felt heat pulse through her body and centralize between her legs as she continued to rub him and his dick continued to harden. Her mouth was watering with the thought of what would come next.

Wet heat encompassed his dick. The feeling of it slowly roused him from his sleep. With a deep breath, Ryan pried open his eyes and immediately looked down. The sight that met him sent chills radiating down his spine in the best way. He shuddered and felt a rush of desire.
Mai looked up at him through her lashes as she sucked his dick, taking almost all of his length before pulling back. He couldn’t think of a better way to wake up.
He threaded his fingers through her hair and cradled her head as she continued to bob up and down. When their gazes met, her actions intensified quickly. She stroked him sharply while she sucked him. He felt the beast inside him stir.
“Shit,” he breathed heavily. As she continued to work on him, Ryan began to move his hips to meet her efforts.
He was swimming. Every muscle was tight with want, tensing as he relished the pleasure of her actions. Ryan wanted to lie back and enjoy it, but at the same time he didn’t want to look away. He liked seeing her mouth wrapped around his dick, liked watching it disappear past her lips. But he was also an impatient man, a greedy man.
No matter how hard the action, Ryan lifted her from his lap and brought her towards him. Mai crawled over his chest and claimed his lips, kissing him lovingly. He felt it, too. Ryan felt the emotions pour from her. Sometimes he wondered if she did it intentionally, just so he’d know what he meant to her.
He rolled them over, pressing his massive, naked body to hers. When he drew back, Ryan stripped Mai of her clothes and she helped, not stopping until every stitch was gone. He didn’t hesitate to slide inside her heat again and was rewarded by the beautiful sounds she always made.
This was his life now. He didn’t miss the Light. He didn’t miss working at the police station for them so he could cover up Fay crimes. He didn’t miss having to sneak around with Mai, the woman he loved.
He knew he’d miss his family and friends soon, but it hadn’t hit him yet. He called his family once, and Marcus, too. He had to tell them what happened as best he could, tell them he was safe, and that he loved them.
The dangers of exile lingered in the back of his mind, however. Ryan knew word had spread that he was out from under the Light’s protection. At some point, enemies would find him, but he could handle himself. He’d fight whoever came knocking when it finally happened. Until then, he would relish the freedom he now had.
