Wet Kisses: A Zodiac Shifters Paranormal Romance - Pisces (The Sectorium Series, #5) by Susan Griscom, Zodiac Shifters (13)

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Adrian

––––––––

I kissed Reese and held her tight against me. She was warm and her hair smelled like rose petals from the shampoo I’d washed it with last night. My mother had left it here the last time she’d visited.

I didn’t believe for a minute that everything was okay. Something had suddenly upset her.

“Does it bother you that I go out every morning?”

“Of course not.”

I smiled. “Maybe you can come with me sometime.” Of course, it would have to be after I’d already let the dragon take flight unless I was able to tell her about him first, but I was afraid I’d lose her for sure if she found out about my beast. And losing Reese now, just when we began to get to know each other would be a tragedy, just about the worst possible thing imaginable. I was certain she and I belonged together. I doubted I’d ever find anyone like her ever again.

“I’d like that.” She smiled. Her beautiful admission bringing me out of that nightmarish thought of losing her, I kissed her forehead.

“I’m going back to bed for a while. Will you join me?”

“I will.” She grinned. “Just let me take care of some business, and I’ll be right back.”

When Reese asked me about shifting this morning, I’d left out the part about the dragon. It had been too long since I’d had an opportunity to let him loose and he needed a release, especially after being in the water yesterday as my dolphin and not letting him out. It was becoming more difficult to keep him inside each time I shifted to the dolphin. It seems like they co-existed now, feeding off each other. In fact, it had probably been dangerous of me to shift to the dolphin in front of Reese last night. The dragon almost took control, until the dolphin pressed its lips against hers. Then the dragon had settled. But this morning he soared in the sky above thick clouds like there was no cap on how high he could go. He was more spunky than normal in his element.

My grandfather had never mentioned his dragon, though last year as I’d gone through his belongings I’d discovered a gold medallion set in a black velvet box. It had a dragon carved on one side and when I flipped it over I found an inscription:

To each beast, there is a mate.

I’d clung to that belief, knowing my grandfather for the man he was, never one to give many secrets away, though this was one he’d alluded to several times. I’d just never known what he’d meant by, “Wait until your beast arrives.” I was young and thought he was talking about my dolphin and I’d shrugged him off as a silly old man spouting out weird advice until the day I first shifted into my dragon. Apparently, this was one ability that could only be passed down to males, bypassing any females that came along, such as my mother; an abeyant curse within her lineage, but then passed on to me.

These abilities we possessed were tricky in the way they were passed down through generations, skipping over one sex for the other. It could become rather confusing if one tried to figure out the origin of a particular trait.

When Reese’s hand slid down my stomach to find my hardened cock, I growled with an intensity I’d never experienced before. Almost as if the dragon had actually made the noise.

“Whoa. Someone must be excited.” Reese laughed. I was glad her melancholy mood had disappeared and now she was once again the playful beauty I’d brought to my bed last night.

I swallowed and positioned my body over hers. “You have no idea.” I plunged into her soft wetness. I didn’t think I could last if I’d taken the time to pleasure her the way I had last night. The way I knew she liked. Not this time. Something wild and uncontrollable had taken over, gnawing deep in my gut.

But she didn’t seem to mind. She was hot, wet, and so velvety soft. “Adrian, my God!” she screamed out as her body shook and shuddered, trembling in wave after wave of pleasure as I felt her convulse and gush around me. I worried that I might be hurting her, I pumped into her so hard. But when her fingernails dug into my back as her hands tugged me into her, I knew I couldn’t be hurting her or she wouldn’t be pulling me harder.

I wanted to come so fucking badly, but I didn’t want this to end. I was lost to the impulses of elated bliss when my eyes clouded over and my release came in heavy bursts of ecstasy as I came with more force than I’d ever done before while a low growl exploded from within me. It was a sound I’d never made before unless I was in dragon form.

Something happened. I wasn’t sure what, but I think the dragon was pleased and sated as he suddenly relaxed his hold on me and calmed.

“What happens Monday?” Reese asked me after we’d been lying next to each other for a while, recovering from that last round of sex. “Do we pretend this didn’t happen?”
