Ride: A Bad Boy MC Romance by Kara Sparks (26)

Chapter 29

Summer

I pull myself up off the ground and look around. After the deafening explosion of noise, the world is deadly quiet. Sound floods black and with it comes the sound of sirens in the distance. It’s too late for us to get away. We’re fucked. I look around desperately trying to find Jack. That’s when I see him lying face down on the ground. His body is perfectly still.

No. It can’t be.

I run over to him and throw myself down on his body.

“Jack, Jack no! Jack please don’t be dead!”

His body moves and relief floods my heart. Jack turns himself over slowly onto his back. Slowly he sits up on his elbows, laughs and coughs.

“Shit girl. You think you can get rid of me that easy? I already told you I’m not going anywhere.”

I throw my arms around him and Jack lets out a pained grunt.

“Sorry.” I pull back immediately, taking my weight off his sore body.

“It’s okay girl.” Jack laughs. “I might just be a little tender for a while. That’s all. Did I get him? His he dead? Is it over?”

“Yes.” I nod my head and can’t help but smile. Deacon is well and truly dead. There’s no getting out of it this time.

“Thank fuck for that.” Jack laughs and sits up further. “Finally this ordeal is done with.”

“I hear that.” Joyce says as he limps over to the two of us. “Don’t know about you but I need a fucking holiday from all this biker drama bullshit.”

“Fuck Joyce, you’ve only been in the game for a few months. Come at me when you’ve been doing this for years.”

“Come at me when you’ve been doing it for decades.” A voice says from behind. We all turn to see Teddy walking towards us with a smoke in his mouth. “Jesus Jack. I’m going to start calling you cat. How many lives you got exactly?”

“Not my fault they keep kicking me out of hell.” Jack jokes. “I guess I’m just too rowdy.”

“I don’t know about you lot.” We all turn around to see Cobra sitting on the hood of a car next to Nancy. “But I am done with this cold ass weather. Let’s get back down south already!”

“It might be too late for that.” Joyce nods and we all turn in the direction of sirens. In the distance a solitary cop car is burning toward us.

“Just one of them.” Cobra pulls his gun out. “Let’s ice these fuckers and get out of here before it’s too late.” Nancy and the other Dragons arm up, along with Roman and Joyce.

“No.” Teddy walks forward and stands between the group and the cop car. “It’s no good. We’re too late. There will be more cops coming as we speak. Might as well face our destiny. No point getting booked for murdering pigs too.”

“I’m sorry.” Jack stands up and I help him. “This is my fault. I’ll take the wrap for everything. Cops are after me anyway for dropping that fucking scumbag. I’ll just say I roped you all into this. Might get some jail time, but I’ll make sure I take the fall. Agreed?”

The others put their guns away. “Not ideal Jack.” Cobra looks at Nancy, shaking his head. “But I guess we haven’t got much choice.”

The car pulls to a stop and two officers jump out. “Everyone get on the ground now! Stop what you’re doing!”

“I fucking hate cops.” Teddy rolls his eyes and the everyone reluctantly gets onto the floor. The tarmac is uncomfortably cold.

The cops both come closer.

“Jesus Christ, Emmett, look at this place. This whole god damn warehouse has come down. We’re going to need to call in for back up.”

Emmett? It can’t be. I lift my head to look at the cops more closely. I laugh.

“You think this is anyway to treat a woman?!” I shout while standing up.

“Summer get down!” Jack shouts at me in a hushed tone. “You don’t know what these cops are like. They kill bikers for fun and get badges for it.”

“Don’t worry Jack.” I laugh.

“Get on the floor!” Emmett’s deputy shouts at me.

“Fuck off asshole,” I shout back, “Hey Emmett!” I walk toward my brother, who is facing the rubble. “Ain’t you going to give your sister a hug after all this time?”

Emmett spins around to look at me. His mouth falls open.

“Summer… what the fuck are you doing here?! Have you been taken hostage?”

“I’ll call in backup.” The other cop says. “This is more serious than I thought.”

“No!” I shout at the deputy. “No backup.”

“Summer you better start explaining what is going on here.” Emmett walks toward me.

“Wait a minute Emmett, that’s Jack Shadow on the floor there. He’s wanted for the murder of Lt. Briggs.”

Emmett leans around me to get a better look at Jack. His eyes widen upon seeing him.

“You’re a very infamous man Jack Shadow. I hate cop killers as much as the next guy, but Briggs was a parasite. Him and the rest of his twisted crew.”

“Much obliged.” Jack laughs from the floor.

“Summer, you better start explaining and you better start fast. I knew you were into some fucked up shit, but this is something else. A blown up warehouse full of bodies and a car park full of bikers strapped to the teeth? I don’t want to arrest my baby sister, but you’re not giving me much choice here.”

“Briggs was in cohorts with an underground network of perverts.” Jack says from behind me. “Every body in that collapsed warehouse behind you belongs to one of those sick fuckers. I don’t know if we got all of them, but we got a lot. We also have the location of their secret warehouse. Same place they run their sick operation.”

Emmett’s deputy is circling the rubble, looking at the few bodies that are visible in disgust.

“There’s a few guys I recognize here Emmett. They’re all part of that underground network. The same one we’ve been trying to bust for months. I think your boy here is telling the truth.”

“Please Emmett.” I look into my brother’s eyes. “I know we haven’t seen eye to eye on a lot of things. But the people here are good people. The bad guys were in that warehouse. They’re dead. Jack took them all down. He saved the day.”

“What are you asking of me here Summer? I’ve got a car park full of biker criminals here. I can’t just let that go.”

“Let it go.” Jack pulls himself to his knees. “We disappear and you get all the credit for busting the perverted porn ring. You don’t have to arrest your sister, you and your buddy look like heroes and we get out of your hair forever. It’s win, win.”

I look at Emmett. “Please bro. It’s like we were never here.”

Emmett turns to his deputy, who looks back at him and shrugs. “He raises a good point Emmett. We’ll look like fucking heroes for taking this ring down ourselves.”

Emmett looks back at me.

“You and your buddies have five minutes to get out here. Then I’m calling for backup. If you get caught then, I’m not saving you. Now get out of here.” I throw my arms around Emmett and hug him tight.

“I love you bro. Thanks.”

“Alright!” He pushes me off. “Now get out of here, I wasn’t joking. If I see any of you bikers around here again I’ll arrest you myself.”

The group springs to life, and within thirty seconds everyone is in a car and ready to go. We tear out of the city as fast as possible, putting everything behind us. As we drive out several cop cars pass us, but none look our way. Emmett stayed true to his word, and I will never forget it. The tall skyscrapers fade away and we start eating tarmac. The long ride back to New Orleans begins.

The jungle is wild, a fevered beast that only lets us stay here as long as it wants to. Once upon a time I hated this place. Now I’m back it feels strangely like home. The drive back passed much quicker than the drive there. But ain’t that always the way?

Just before we pull into town we say goodbye to the Dragons, and give our eternal thanks. Whatever happened back in NYC, we’ve formed a bond together now, we’re family.

As we get back to the street where Jack and I live, we say goodbye to Teddy, Roman and Joyce. We share some parting words for our adventure.

“Hey Jack.” Joyce says before he drives away. “We’ve been thinking. Since Notorious is dead along with the Crows… how about we start up our own outfit. Something new. Roman and I have been talking, we’re going to go into business together.”

“Maybe start up a new garage.” Roman says. “Teddy’s in too. Aren’t you Teddy?”

“Got to use that insurance money for something.” Teddy laughs. “And you’re all fine mechanics. Maybe if we get bored of the garage we can start a new club.”

“You certainly pick your times to pitch starting a new club.” Jack laughs. “Right now I’m not even sure if I want to ride again. Especially if I want to keep this one.” Jack motions with me towards his head.

“Hey. You just can’t stand the thought of being in a club where I’m your boss.” I punch Jack in the arm softly and he smirks.

“You think you’d be the boss?” Jack rolls his eyes.

“After the way she handled herself throughout all this I’m putting my vote in for Summer being in charge. Even if her brother is a cop.” Teddy says from the passenger seat.

“Shit guys, I’m honored, but like Jack said, I might need a bit of time off first after these past few days.”

“Ah you’ve got the bug.” Joyce laughs. “I can tell. Swing by the Arrow sometime tomorrow. We’ll talk it over a few beers then.”

“The Arrow?” I ask. “I thought the bar was wrecked now?”

“It is.” Teddy says flatly. “But we’ve got to start rebuilding at some point.”

“A few beers sounds about perfect right now.” Jack laughs. “We’ll see you guys then.”

The car starts up and disappears round the end of the street, taking Teddy, Joyce and Roman away. For the first time in a while it’s just me and Jack again. He looks at me and there is fierce hunger in his eyes.

“Uh–oh.” I joke. “I’ve seen that look before. What are you thinking?”

“I’m thinking we haven’t had any time to ourselves in too long. Your place or mine?”

I look over the road at Jack’s house, which is now covered in police tape.

“Maybe mine. And after that we should probably look for somewhere new to live.”

We head into the house and Jack slams the door shut behind us. I turn to face him but he stops me halfway.

“No, no.” Jack whispers in my ear and pulls his hand up the inside of my thigh. His other hand moves up my chest and palms my breast. “Bend over and let me see that sweet pussy.”

I bend over, placing my hands on the staircase. Jack slides his hands down my back to my skirt. He lifts it up, rolls my panties down and I hear him squat down to the floor. His hands spread my ass apart and his mouth is on my pussy. His tongue moves against me like a hungry fire. I jolt with ecstasy at his feverish touch.

He eats me out making me cum three times over. Within minutes I’m on all fours on the floor, gasping for air. I’ve been longing for his touch again for so long. Now it’s here I can hardly contain myself.

“Turn around.” He growls. I do as he says and he picks me up, holding me close to his body. He carries me into the living room and places me on the couch. He strips off completely, perches himself over me and slides his long hard shaft into my dripping pussy.

“You’re my fucking queen.” He growls as he fucks my pussy. “I’ll serve you as long as I live.”

Fuck yes.

His words get me so hot, I come to another climax almost instantly, spasming on the couch hard as I feel him cum inside me. I finally think we’re done when my ass grazes against his cock, making him go hard again instantly.

“Fuck Jack, what have you been eating?”

“I’m making up for lost time honey. Open those legs. I’m gonna take you again.”

The rest of the day goes like that. We fuck for what feels like hours, and after I think we’re done, we start all over again. By the time we’re finished I feel as if my legs will be shaking for a week.

The sun goes down, we move onto the back porch and fuck some more. After we lay on the porch swing drinking whiskey, smoking cigarettes, and listen to the Cicadas.

“I’m sorry I brought you into all this.” Jack says, blowing out smoke.

“Don’t be.” I wrap my arm around his and lean in close. “It might have been hairy in places, but it brought me you. I’d do it all again for you in a heartbeat.”

Jack smiles and rests his forehead against mine.

“I wasn’t kidding earlier you know. When I said what I said back in the old cinema. I want to spend my whole life with you. If that means never getting on a bike again then so be it. I look in your eyes and I see everything. I want kids, a house, a dog. I want it all. I look at you and want it all.”

His lips meet mine softly and we entwine in a long and slow kiss. His words move mountains for me, they tell me everything I need to know.

“Are you saying you’d go civilian for me, Jack Shadow?”

“Hell. I’d join the cops if I had to.”

“Okay, now I know you’re fucking with me.” I laugh.

“Oh we’ll be doing plenty more fucking. Don’t you worry about that.”

“You really you think you could survive being a family man?” I ask him genuinely.

“I’ve spent my whole life surviving. I’m done with that. I want to live now, and I want to do it with you.”
