A Soul Taken by O'Dell, Laura (9)

Almost

Katya’s club, Vibe, turned out to be popping. As in, the line was wrapped around the block. Ronan bypassed it, of course. The bouncer was female, which surprised Beth, and she was very attractive. Tall and muscular and definitely Fae, her long platinum hair was pulled into a top-ponytail and her green eyes lit up at the sight of Ronan. She held up a hand to cut off a douchey looking college kid trying to talk his way in. She smiled, her blood red lips parting to reveal unnaturally white teeth.

“Ronan,” she purred. “It has been too long.”

“Nearly a year,” Ronan agreed. “Is Katya in?”

“Of course.” Her tongue caught on the ‘s’, making her sound like a snake. “Go on in. She’ll be in the office.”

Ronan nodded and started forward. Beth went to follow but a hand was laid on her shoulder.

“And where do you think you are going?” asked the bouncer.

Beth looked up at her, startled.

“She’s with me, Nastasia,” said Ronan.

“You brought a date to Katya’s?” Disbelief colored her tone.

“She’s my wife.” Ronan held up his hand, catching the reflection of the neon lights in the facets of the jewels.

Nastasia hissed. “Ridiculous. The Knight should not be wed.” But she released Beth all the same.

Ronan slid his hand into hers and pulled her through the door and inside.

The club was dark, and fog covered the floor. The place was already packed, despite it still being fairly early in the evening. A glass bar lit up by an LED outline took up almost an entire wall. Ronan started through the crowd, keeping a firm grip on her hand as they wound between the drunk college students. The air was humid but not in an unpleasant way, just enough to heat everyone up and then effectively chill them when the door was opened, letting a breeze in.

Once they made it across the floor they ducked into a side hallway, dimly lit with red bulbs. That wasn’t a good sign. Ronan walked to the end of the hall and stopped in front of a door, knocking.

“Come in,” came a sultry voice.

Ronan opened it and they stepped inside. This room looked like something out of a sexy noir film. There was a large mahogany desk that sat across from a black chaise lounge. Red christmas lights were strung about and the air was a heady scent of sex mixed with roses. The woman sitting on the desk in front of them made the bouncer outside look like cat food.

The succubus was wearing a short black dress that highlighted her cleavage. Her bright red hair was falling in gently curling waves around her shoulders. Her lips were painted a magenta and curved up delightedly at the sight of Ronan.

“Marlowe said you might be paying me a visit.” Her voice was husky. Beth noticed her legs were long and she wore stockings and a garter belt that wasn’t hidden at all by the short dress. Her eyes found Beth and narrowed. “Who is this?”

“Surely you heard about my wedding,” Ronan said, giving Beth’s hand a reassuring squeeze.

Beth got the feeling that Ronan was going to try and use his being married to get out of sex with the succubus. But that seemed insane. Beth hadn’t ever really been attracted to women, but she already wouldn’t say no to sex with Katya. Her mind was cloudy, like maybe the air in here was affecting her.

“You know I make it a habit to stay out of the goings on at the Palace,” Katya said, her eyes dropping to where Ronan and Beth’s hands were linked. A look of distaste crossed her face. “Show me your bride.”

“This is Elizabeth Mac Nevin.” Ronan brought their hands up and kissed her knuckles. She knew this was all for show, but she still felt the kiss burn into her and tingle all the way down to her toes.

“I see.” The succubus’ eyes roamed every visible inch of Beth for a moment before snapping back to Ronan. “Why are you here? What do you need?”

“I’m looking for Sylviana,” Ronan said, releasing Beth’s hand. Obviously he had no need for it now.

“Of course you are.” Katya sighed. She crossed those long legs out in front of her and leaned back on her elbows, looking up at Ronan through her abnormally long eyelashes. Damn Fae mascara. Her voice was sultry again. “But what’s in it for me? I wouldn’t give away my favorite Selkie if the return weren’t … exceptional.”

“I have money --” Ronan started, but was cut off by deep laughter.

“I have no need for money, Knight. You know what it is I desire.”

Ronan’s shoulders dropped slightly. “Of course. Elizabeth, if you would please wait in the hall?”

“Nonsense,” said the succubus. “Tell me. Why is it that though you two are wed you have not yet consummated your marriage?”

Neither had an answer. Beth glanced awkwardly up at Ronan who was scowling at the floor.

“Don’t be shy,” Katya insisted. “I can tell you’re attracted to one another. I can feel it. The want alone is almost enough for me to feed from.” She tapped a finger against her chin thoughtfully. “I want you two to do it.”

Beth couldn’t have heard her right. “... it?” she asked, her voice coming out as a nervous squeak.

“Sex. I want you two to fuck on my desk. I don’t have to be involved to reap the benefits. I can feed from across the room.” Katya’s eyes danced.

“Aren’t there enough lusty college kids grinding out there to last you a lifetime?” Ronan asked, gesturing in the direction of the dance floor.

“Hardly any of them are Fae, darling. And you know how much I love your … flavor.” She bit her bottom lip and winked at him. “Besides, Ronan. You’re strung tighter than a bad bow.” She stood and stretched, moving away from the desk. “If you want, I’ll tell you exactly what to do. You two don’t seem acclimated to one another yet.”

Beth was nearly shaking. Either with fear of this devilish woman or with want she couldn’t tell, but it was suddenly really damn hot in here.

“Kiss her, Ronan,” Katya commanded, folding herself gracefully onto the chaise lounge.

“You promise me you’ll tell us what we need to know if we do this?” he asked, his voice low and gravelly.

“I’ll give you a fucking address. Now kiss her.”

Ronan turned to Beth and met her eyes, his brows drawn together in question.

She nodded in response and he dipped his head. Their lips met, lightly at first, just like the kiss at their wedding. When that familiar lightning travelled through her veins Beth pressed harder and Ronan brought a hand up, cupping her cheek. He smelled like evergreen and lemongrass, just as before, but he tasted like honey and desire.

She wanted to drink him in. Her tongue slid greedily against his lips and he opened for her with a groan that shook her to her core. Then there was no stopping them. His mouth was hot, and she reached up, gripping the back of his neck. His hands slid down to her hips and he lifted her onto the desk, shoving himself between her legs.

Beth had always had a strong sense of who she was. Had never questioned her place in the world. But right now, she felt as though maybe she had been created to do just this. Kissing Ronan was like gulping oxygen after a lifetime under water; intoxicating and absolutely necessary. And then he rocked against her and she nearly lost her mind. Those wonderful leather pants did little to restrain his impressively large arousal and she felt it on her belly like a brand. A moan ripped from her and he gently bit her lower lip in response, causing her toes to curl.

“Off with your shirt, Elizabeth,” Katya instructed, making Beth jump. She had forgotten the succubus was there too.

Beth pulled away from Ronan long enough to tug her top over her head, keeping her gaze on his face. He looked wild. His dark eyes had somehow grown darker and his cheeks were flushed, his lips red from her kisses.

“Bra too,” said Katya.

Beth glanced at her in annoyance and reached around, unhooking her bra before pulling it off and tossing it aside. She didn’t have time for this. All she wanted was to feel Ronan’s lips on hers again. And then he brought his hands up to her breasts and she changed her mind, because she had time for this too.

Her nipples were already straining but the feel of his rough palms on them made her shake. Then he lowered his head and sucked her left one into his mouth and Beth couldn’t help but cry out. She brought her hands up and laced her fingers into his hair, throwing her head back as he caressed her with that magnificent tongue. He switched to the other side and her nails scratched against his scalp, awarding from him an approving groan.

Beth was panting when he brought his head up and kissed her again, sliding his tongue deep inside her mouth.

“Ah ah, Ronan. Your shirt now,” ordered the succubus.

Ronan growled and started unbuttoning the red vampire shirt without stopping the kiss, which was good, because Beth was almost certain she would die if he stopped the kiss. She brought her hands up and rewarded his efforts by running her fingertips down each section of skin as he exposed it, never ceasing the motion of her tongue sucking needily on his. When his shirt was off she flattened her palms against his chest and realized that he was shaking too. She brushed over his erect nipples and he growled again, deeply. She decided that she loved that sound.

Ronan slowly pushed Beth back onto the desk, settling his weight against her. She gasped into his mouth at the feel of her rigid nipples against his bare chest. The intensity between them was growing, flowing through her limbs and mind until all she could focus on was how damn good he felt on top of her.

He ground against her core and she cried out, bringing her hands up to scratch at his scalp again, which only made him grind harder. At this rate she was going to combust before they ever got their pants off.

“Okay, now stop,” Katya said suddenly, her voice full of malicious glee.

Naturally, Beth and Ronan ignored her.

“Stop or I won’t give you the address,” she singsonged.

That did the trick.

Ronan went still atop her and slowly stood, his eyes devouring her. He was a glorious sight to behold. His hair was tousled and his lips were swollen. His chest and abs were just as mouthwatering as ever and oh, his happy trail led to the head of his cock which was slick and peeking out above the waist of those phenomenal pants. Beth swallowed, all of her attention drawn there. When used in reference to Ronan, the term ‘happy trail’ should be changed to ‘ecstatic trail’ or even maybe ‘mind-blowing trail’, she decided.

Katya snapped her fingers and Beth blinked a few times, trying to regain her sanity.

Ronan moved first, tugging his pants up a little and reaching down for his shirt. He turned away from Beth to face Katya as he buttoned up. Beth was left panting and half naked on the desk, her body on fire. She reached for her bra.

Katya seemed to be glowing, obviously having fed off of them while they generated sensual energy for her. Her eyes were alight, and she beamed up at Ronan. She held out her hand and he approached her, grasping the piece of paper she offered.

“My god,” Katya purred, her bright eyes half-lidded and fixed on Beth. “You, Elizabeth, are absolutely delicious. I’ve never been more fulfilled.”

“Is this the address?” Ronan asked, his voice low and rough. Just the sound of it after what they’d done caused goosebumps to erupt all over Beth’s body.

“Yes dear. And take it easy on Sylvie, would you? She’s a sweet girl. Good with her tongue.”

Ronan grunted noncommittally and turned toward the door, looking anywhere but at Beth who was pulling her shirt over her head.

“You ready?” he barked.

“Yeah.” Beth ran fingers through her hair a few times, trying to get back to any semblance of presentable. She was shaking still, her heart pounding, but her legs held her when she stood up.
