Chapter Thirteen
Leah could hear the party from the other side of the door as Nikon carried her into the hall over his shoulder. She tried to reach up to take off the blindfold, but she’d knotted it on too tightly to pull off upside down while all the blood was rushing to her head.
The second door opened, and she sighed when he placed her back on her feet. She pulled the cloth off with ease and stared at the angry hybrid in front of her. She watched as he took out the brown contacts and tossed them in the trash, his breathing heavy.
“What the fuck was all that?” Nikon growled.
Leah frowned. “What the fuck was what?”
The hybrid stomped forward, glaring at her. “Don’t play games. What the hell did you think you were doing letting some guy try and kiss you? That was bullshit.”
Leah huffed loudly. “Are you kidding me right now? You ignore me after kissing me and then act like I’m supposed to just keep pretending like nothing happened.” She pushed past him. “You know what, I’m done talking about this. You’re right. This is bullshit.”
Nikon reached out as she passed by and stopped her where she was. Her body was so close to his that she could feel the heat from him.
“Did you want him to kiss you?” he asked, his voice quiet as he spoke.
“No,” Leah said. “I wanted you to kiss me. That was the whole point.”

Leah reached up and placed a hand against his cheek.
Nikon sighed. “I’ve wanted you from the very moment that I saw you, but when Alair died, I just couldn’t bring myself to take what was his. It didn’t seem right, even if I had to suffer.”
She placed a soft kiss against his lips. “In my heart, it was always you,” she said. “Your brother was an amazing man, but we weren’t destined to be together. I can just feel it in my soul, and isn’t that what this is all supposed to be about, destiny?”
Nikon blinked but didn’t say anything, thinking over what she said.
Leah brought her hand down from his cheek and pulled his hand up to her heart. She laced her fingers with his over her pounding pulse. “This was always meant for you.”
Nikon leaned in again for another searing kiss. His hands moved with a more hurried pace over her body.
